What are the odds! I was in that restaurant yesterday.. I googled Kenyan restaurants near me.. and Swahili village came up, So i drove there, and had me a nice plate of pilau, beef, and chapo. Home away from home
Am glad that Kenyan Cuisine is appreciated Globally, Am in the hotel industry and I believe that when we appreciated ourselves: greater embrace will come through.
Then if this guy is extremely successful, and his kids in Nairobi start driving Range Rovers, everyone will just turn around and start calling them watoto wa NYS. SAD!
Well done Kevin Onyona and your beautiful wife and children. That’s is what life is all about. God loves a humble heart because those who humble themselves, He exalts then. I’m inspired in a huge way. May God expand your territories. A video you watch and feel, you have learnt something and you have grown at the same time. As a new business owner I know it’s not easy. When a destiny is about to be fulfilled something hit to discourage but you persevered all that. We should never despise the days of small beginnings. Blessings from 🇬🇧
The tallest girl from Kenya, I watched this today here in California, and ohh boy I will be the next BIGGEST ENTREPRENEUR. If you know Jackline, you know that was her goal in life. I'm typing this and 10 year's to come, it will be my story to tell. I will come back and check it 🙏 Y'all wait and see God and I perform miracle's 🙏
I went there for the first time last Sunday. The food was on point. We had samosa, sausage, and bajia for appetizer. I got mbuzi kaanga with spinach and chapo. My friend got mbuzi choma with cabbage and pilau. Everything was delicious and a good portion is served. We actually had to carry home for dinner. I had planned to celebrate my graduation here with family in May of 2018. The fire broke out just a week before and all my plans failed. Now, we are going through a pandemic that is hurting restaurant businesses. But I will continue buying my food from here to support my fellow Kenyan. We will get through this 🙏🏽
Ohhh my God.. I remember eating at Swahili village when it was just starting and all I can say it has grown grown grown.. all this is just God's annointing this place.. and their food is bomb.. for sure it's a taste of home away from home...
as someone who owned a restaurant and a supermarket in europe that collapsed i feel so much encouraged,i pray that Kevin lives ling to make his dream come true,of making swahili village a chain restaurant.
I loved Swahili village. I used to take my wazungu and nigerian room mates for Ugali Maziwa on Sundays. This kevin guy was so humble and kind. I was shocked to see how rich he actually is on this interview lol.

Cozy. Not all are as cozy as they seem .Successful lives in US can never take that wanting from coming back home. Trust me.. mostly everyone longs to go back home. If Africa continues to grow and improve as they're doing now... alot of people. .will go home..regardless of success in US

Awesome job Kevin and everyone at Swahili Village. I have been a loyal customer since the days of the original restaurant. The food is amazing and the ambiance is great. We were just there last month celebrating my friend's birthday 😊.

It makes me so proud that Kenyans out there still want to retain their traditions.
