Wow Kevin Onyona you are a Inspiration to many!
A new Swahili Consulate Restaurant in downtown Washington DC! where the diaspora can rub shoulders with the diplomats while eating nyama choma, kachumbari, fish and ugali - congrats my friend thanks for sharing our food, culture and vibes with the rest of the world! Asante.
Literally, my favorite Restaurant in the DMV.......not only for the food, but especially for the Culture.
Chamsmedia thank you for these encouraging stories. May God bless you alex
Inspiring. He should also think of franchising the restaurant, the McDonald’s style. The name Swahili Village might become a big name and he can’t run all those restaurants by himself.
He will be paid loyalties for the franchise Swahili Village.
Yes for sure is far much better than McDonald's .....
I really love how Kenya is represented all over the world kudos
African alway help and support each other don’t matter if they are West, East, North or South African.
Hongera for representing and rising Kenya flag high.following from Somali
I’ve always loved cooking! I’m a foodie and Mr Onyana’s story and the stories of the other hardworking Kenyan restaurant owners that have been featured on Chams Media recently, gives me hope/inspires me so much.

I Dined in that restaurant the one located in Washington DC was visiting from NY state even saw a Kenyan MP in there..their food is good expensive, but very good.
Mexican cooks wow
grenada veiws Remember they are our brother from another mother.
jotaya lol
Mexicans never hire black people to cook in their restaurants.
It’s cheaper to hire Mexican employees that’s why
@@gloo2292 Nonsense! Many Africans here need these jobs... you see them there at home depot looking for work. This man parading the Mexican like he won a prize and they probably illegal too.
Where does he get his supplies from
Ata kama niko Saudia hizi food nazitamani, kwani restaurant yetu hapa ninapatikana wapi? mchele imetukela.chams media tuaroketie yetu.
Ethiopia is in east Africa
When he says eastafrican he means kenya, uganda , tanzania, rwanda and burundi
There's East and Eastern and Ethiopia is Eastern 👍😊
Does he want a Sydney branch ?
Actually most African restaurants and businesses in America are owned by Somalis
Do l smell a tinge of jelousy? My friend, Was it supposed to be a competition? Say their names so that they can also be celebrated
This is a repeat my friend. Nakumbuka ulitusimulia story ya huyu jamaa sometimes back.
I'm sure you watched the one from JKL
@@cedric_254 Yes. He was featured at Citizen TV.
Alex tell to take students from Boma redcross hospitality the tutors there are former utalii they have students even from China disciplined training
Damn expensive plus mandatory gratuities..I have taken many friends from other countries bt never go back cz of prices
Support your own
KENYAN FOOD IS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE HERE, I NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY..GUYS WANNA MAKE BIG PROFITS I GUESS
jim focus The best way is not to compare. That’s how my Kenyan friend almost died of hunger, in America, because he compared everything to the T, when he first arrived. He has no problem now. He learnt real fast. I still believe that even with minimum wage in America, food is still pretty affordable compared to Kenya. And also, when it comes to restaurants, location matters too! You’ve had in the story of the West African who keeps coming back. Trust me, if the food and the services weren’t that good, they wouldn’t be coming back. Also, following the law of the land when it comes especially to the food industry in this country, makes the prices “seem” slightly higher to cover for the insurances and any legal fees in case anything comes up (like an outbreak). Last but not least, getting the supply, some local, and I bet from back home, makes it quite expensive. The clientele matters too! Looks like the services and the food is so good, the clients are willing to part with that amount of money. It’s a win win situation. If I can spend $300 in a Mexican Fire and Grill, that is, without drinks. Why not at Swahili Village😊
@@jotaya here in TX most of Kenyan restaurants have closed due luck of customers, just because I'm a Kenyan doesn't mean I can overspend to eat chapati and mandao
@UC9UGdsdoPYNEAjTsR3g47lg it's not worth paying more, I got too many people to help
jim focus Good! I guess we come from a different school of thought here. I’ve just realized that. It’s been nice charting though. Be blessed more to be a blessing to many more🙏🏾
By the way, my money goes a long way too, Charity wise! I don’t have to go in the details of it but I take care of me, my people, and it trickles down to many many more individuals in my life. And I’m grateful!
jim focus this is not type of your regular take away restaurants lol....
Used to think the same but you have to move to that level to understand...
One day you will.
The guy is currently under federal investigation for stealing his employees wages....what glitters is not gold.
Sadly, this place is currently on the news for stealing wages and tips from employees. Sir, how can you sleep at night?
Likes za KARANJA😂😂😂
hahaha
May God get the Glory. Indeed you are a blessing to many
