Good man on a digger is priceless. Good job gerry. You'll have to talk nice to farmer phil and he might pick the stone😉😉
Think it would be a bit fare for Phil for this small field but we’ve bigger reseeding jobs to do next year so you never know 😉
@@IFarmWeFarm are you giving us spoilers for next year already 😳. Just wondering will we see you and the funky farmer at the ploughing this year?
On way to school there was this one house with a gate made out of horse shoes. Maybe this could be a project for all of your findings, but make sure to keep them in the right position to collect the luck for you!
Those pillars will look really nice when they're rebuilt, glad your keeping them. As people have said a good digger operator is worth there wait in gold. 👍🤗
Good save of the iron gate. It will be worth the effort. Jerry is an outstanding operator. Fortunate to have access to such a capable operator. Thank you for sharing.
🐄🐄
Small tip Adrian, everywhere youve a shore goin into a drain mark it with a length of re-bar with some bright paint on it, easy for the digger man to find it again,
Grt to see farmer phil .with cottage .the old cottage lv that drainage . . Yes always satisfying to do something like that .grt project .like the ferguson .harry done you guys proud . But.... abs still rule cheers from nz 👍
Found you a couple of weeks ago, Adrian. Absolutely love your channel. I'm not a farmy person but I'm hooked. Sooooooo interesting. It amazes me how little I knew about dairy farming. Going back to view your older videos. Lots to go at. You've got your technique down to a fine art and made them so watchable. I admire your energy, dedication and love for your farm. Thank you again. ❤
Thank you Jeanette, really appreciate that and the fact you enjoy the content 👍
This is a job very well done. As someone who grew up on a farm, and a farm with severe wet spots, I can fully understand the desire to eliminate as much as possible. That field adjacent to the bog is far, far better for the work you have done to it. Getting rid of the bog is also something you perhaps wish you could do, but at the end of the day, the return doesn't always warrant the costs involved. Also, that bog is part of the countryside and an important ecosystem in itself so sometimes, it is better to accept it for what it is and instead, find joy in the wildlife that it supports. If you have to have it, one may as well as enjoy it.
No we won’t be touching the bog, it’s full of wildlife too like snipe, woodcock and water drakes.
It would be a lot of work and money anyhow that I just couldn’t justify it .
Jerry sure does great work with the digger.
A lot of work done. Love the idea's for the gate way and an open stream. The end drone shots are superb I wish there was more of them and slower because the beautiful lush Irish countryside is stunning, the drone also gives a real perspective of the amount of drain work done and why your doing it.
W😳W! You have made a lot of progress rearranging your land and putting drain pipes. I am also amazed by the before and after when the dirt movers get to work. Things are moving along. 🇺🇸
Brilliant work. Difficult work when the normal processes require attention daily.
Hope you’re doing better mate . I find winter (different months down here lol) and Christmas tough times of year as lots going on , so look after yourself . Appreciate your chats mate . Take care .
Everything looks so beautiful with that deep green grass.
I bit ago your dad was under the weather. How is he doing?
Praying for rain for the farmers around the world. We finally got some, I hope others did too.
Dad got home shortly after the silage video we made, he’s doing better. He was out on the quad keeping an eye on this job in case I’d make a mistake 😂
Thanks for the show Adrian, another couple of steps forward, the farm has changed a fair bit since I started following, hope your dad's well
He’s doing well thankfully, cheers for following the videos 👍
A BIG 👍 up for the man on the digger 🏆 It's all coming along nicely 👍 I love your channel ❤️
Wow, Adrian, it's looking amazing. The digger man knows what he's doing 👍 The bog could you turn that into a couple of nice ponds with all that water you are running into from the fields?
That great job done on drainage on that fields and guy on digger was really great at his job
My backs aching just looking at the stones to pick!
Ah it’s not so bad when ya get going, just have to keep the head down and don’t look at what you’ve still got to do 😂
You have really made improvements! I hope you father is home and well. Look forward to next week's video!!
Good plan hanging on to the horseshoes. I reckon it will take the farrier a fair few to shoe the Massey 😁
Tidy work by Gerry and You. He's so accurate with the excavator and doesn't hang around. We'll done.
Always a busy man Adrian but a good job done once again , thanks Adrian .
The overview of work done was so well done. Excellent
Sunday morning isn’t complete without the ifarmwefarm video, Great job you have done here,
Cheers lad 👍
Nice video, from experience pipe that light gets squashed easily, the drain works just as good without something that light but would require the drains to be filled to the top with no soil covering.
that's a lot of work that you did on your farm but it will all pay off in the end, it was a great job that you all did and a really good and interesting video, thank you for sharing
Lovely job gone there Adrian Gerry is a fair man on that digger . All ya can do is improve on wot ur given. Good job lads
Great video Adrian, I admire the way you look after your farm from the Ground to Machinery and to the Cattle themselves and doing most of it by yourself, not to mention sharing it all with us!
Very down to earth too
Your a credit to farming community
TA TA
Drainage is so important
Big improvement on the land you’re doing a great job of it all
Great video again and great weather for the drainage job.
Love those drains. You have been a busy busy man!
Hello Adrian, would you ever consider doing an interveiw with gerry and how he's become such a good operator and how he's started his business?. Would be interesting to find out 👌
Gerry wouldn’t be a fan of the camera and don’t want to make him uncomfortably doing so. But he’s at it since he left school, he worked for a good local man for years where he got the right experience and then went out on his own. He has three machines and his brother helps him. Two great lads at the job
@@IFarmWeFarm ahh that's grand Adrian, fair play he's a good man to have around very tidy. Cheers for the reply 👍
looking great, all the little jobs make a big difference eventually. cant wait to see how your posts turn out. thank you.
Men do amazing things😊
I am so addicted to this!!! Poor wee cottage will be right again!
Nice cheeky wee teasing outro on future instalments there Adrian… 👏🏻
Spray it off Adrian makes much more of a difference leaves it easy ploughed, levelled, no clods in the seed bed and less weeds when the sward establishes worth ever bit of extra work spraying off!
I love watching your channel; it's great the way you explain everything that you're doing. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the update Adrian massive difference every video
Great video Adrian nice bit of work done 👌
Excellent video as always Adrian, always improving what you have 👍
Drains should’ve had a few inches of stones first for the pipe to sit on,clay will seal the bottom of the pipe
A great job in improving your land. There’s a huge number of stones there. Will you have to gather them by hand?
That's one SKILLED digger operator "not one stop dropped outside the ditch "
Great work tidying up land. What madness our politicians talk about re wetting land. What is logic in culling cows. Keep up great work
Another great video good job Gerry will you get farmer Phil in to left the stones with new machine 👍👍👍👍
It looked good, but oh my gosh, there are alot left to do! 🙊🙈🙏❤️❤️🤗 But I don't worry too much! You are capable to sort that out! 🥰🙏❤️🥳
That was a big job. 👍👍😊
Super job Adrian
Well Adrian, great weather, great to see it diff stone drainage are great job plenty work to be done, if anyone needs a break, it's diff u Adrian because u never seem to rest great man , great video, chat soon, kieran from Laghey donegal town
Nice video Adrian, you have a good man on the digger there, the soil is so dry
Another good and interesting video Adrian, man of many talents well done you, think you will need to keep this video for future reference for the girls so they will know were all pipes and drains are in years to come.🍻
Just an idea for the gate and the horse shoes. You could incorporate the horse shoes in the gate
That’s a great idea Gerard 👌
my father put drains up hedge sides and we have had to dig them out again because they were full of roots , not picking on you , just telling you my experience , also I gave up with new drains in favour of removing old drains and replacing them without any top fill stone or whatever , far more successful and cheaper on the heavy clay land we farm
Looking at your beautiful property, one could barely imagine the infrastructure required to keep it from being a boggy nightmare and usable for your business. Good job!
Suggestion: You could incorporate the horseshoes in the gate.
Question: would it benefiting to remove all the stones on the surface like I have seen done in episodes of letdigit18?
I like the progress with the cottage 👍👍
Very good idea on the horse shows mate 👌, we will be gathering all the stones over the next few days. Have all around the cottage reseeded and stones gathered already.
Great job Adrian, well done and very well pit over
Great progress you've made! ❤XXX
Nice outtro!
Great video Adrian. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼
Great job 👏
Super video Adrian
Wonderful land improvements... The grade and new level look perfect. You're sure to have better drainage and accessible land area in those fields now. Will you seed the top soil or let nature fill the graded areas in? I love the look of old stone columns and iron gates, so I am definitely looking forward to seeing the rehabilitation of the access gate across from the cottage. Having that access there will enhance the overall feel and look of the cottage corner itself I think. Almost a focal point along that wall in a way. I could go on and on! Many jobs for sure... Seems like there is always something and it's lovely that you take us along the journey. Thanks for the adventures, Adrian! Cheers!
Definitely will get a full reseed Wendy, contractor hopefully coming out his week to get it done. Have all around the cottage reseeded already and gathered the last of the stones today. Really happy with how it looks now for sure
great work you need get farmer phill in with the stone picker to clear it all up would make some job.
Hello from Italy, love your vlogs
Fantastic video love your variety off content
Great Video. Thank You
Excellent work
Small jobs are great to get ticked off . Till the next one I watch you then
A Cavan man spending money 😂
Comment for the algorithm to help the channel 👍.
Jaysus Aidan think you do need a break! So much different things going on how you manage it I don’t know! Any chance of a farm safety video sometime as perhaps some non farmers don’t realise how dangerous a job it is!
Might I ask that you create a separate playlist that includes solely those videos where you are working on and around the cottage? Gracie.
Great job Adrian ! Are the girls enjoying there ATV
It’s on the sprayer this last few weeks, girls love the thing for sure. My father seems to enjoy it more than anyone as it’s low down and easy to get on.
You should be installing filter sock on your pipe to prevent fine sediment infiltration and clogging. Everyone uses filter sock in the US for all tiling work. 😊
Never seen them used in this area, but sound like a good thing for sure
@@IFarmWeFarmI'm in Leitrim Adrian, I used Teram geotextile on the pipes here great job, although I cut and stitched the roll myself to make the sock if that makes sense. Used it in bog ground without any stone as the stone was disappearing into the ground and was useless after a few years
Humidity makes the heat far worse.
Great stuff as usual. Lots of little jobs. 😊
When are you coming to the Royal Highland Show near Edinburgh 😊
Facinating‼️
Adrian you're on the pig's back as they say you're getting there great job 👏
It will be nice to see it when its reseeded annd the grass growing
Gerry is a good man on a digger dose not waste time with it don a lot of work in a few days
Hopefully you won’t be forced to rewet that in a few years time lol. The stuff they come up with.
Good video Adrian. Typo in the title though - a rare mistake!
Jasus 🙈, thanks for letting me know lad I just fixed it now.
I upload these between jobs so my attention does drift 😂
Things are looking good.
whats the per hour rate now for a digger man? 70 euro an hour ?
You should head to the sea with your family😉
You could say you're a bit drained yourself 😁
Are the drain pipes perforated?
Yes perforated pipes all the way
Great job Adrian..
Your man on that 360 is a brilliant operator.. have you any ponds on farm?
Adrian, if eamon ryan gets his way ,you could have to re wet that again 😂😂
No that part was always a grazed area down to the original fence that wasn’t moved. That other part that is bog now wasn’t like that about 50-60 years ago, all grazed ground. But drains are all blocked further down the line now so she’s wetting herself as is. Eamon can come out but I’d fear he’d trip up and fall into a hole 😉
By the look of the soil it isn't peat bog anyway which is what Eamonn is all hot and bothered about.
@@IFarmWeFarmbe sure and give him a hand out of the hole if he falls in lol. We wouldn’t want him down it too long.
weld the shoes together they would make a great boot cleaning mat
Fair dues lad
Unusual to see no stone put at the bottom of each trench, any particular reason or is that the way you have always done your drains? Secondly no drainage type pebble stone used? Useful tip at the weekend I learned doing a small drainage job at home was to put weed control cover on top of the stone before backfilling. Stops soil (especially this time of the year with dry ground) contaminating the stone so water can drain away quicker.
Mighty video Adrian, good man Gerry, some man for one man, keep at her Lad!
How goes the milk business in Ireland have been hearing lots of stories how it is going
It’s ok so fare, lots of talk alright. We’re in a position we’re if we allow it to happen Ireland will be ( apparently) leading the way when it comes to greenhouse gases by eliminating cow numbers!!
Cow numbers will increase in countries like Brazil and so on to counter act this and we’ll be importing it from them instead! Just like beef.
It will be an interesting few years ahead
So Adrian, are you going to have your girls pick up all those newly exposed stones? 😂
😉😂
I don't know Ireland, it's so beautiful where you are. Which region is it?
Co.Cavan
Nice video
