How To Install a Windshield - Mopar Lock Strip

We get the new windshield gasket set on the car, goop it up with adhesive and place the glass in it. Then it's "Fun with Lock Strip" time. But, we get it done with a short break to run to the parts store.

That looks great! My windshield is starting delaminate with fog about 2 inches high.. I kinda like it tho. Hopefully it won’t get too bad before I need to find another windshield!

The windshield will only get worse with time. start sourcing a suitable replacement when you can.

Had my windshield done on my 66 dart, they tapped the lock strip in with a rubber mallet. They sprayed the grove and strip with silicone spray, and it went in like greased lighten

You da man to install that by yourself. I used the 3M auto bedding and glazing compound #08509 on mine. It stays gooy like original stuff. Nice job.

The windshield was easy, the rear window will take a crew of 5, 2 pizzas and maybe a few beers!

How hard would it be to replace the lock strip with an old gasket? Mine has yellowed and I like to replace it.

Replacing the lock strip on an old gasket is just like doing a new gasket, But I would wait until Summer. let the window and gasket get warmed up do the rubber is more flexable.
