Just purchased in a Toll Brothers community in Star. Love the town and very happy to be in Idaho!
Welcome to Idaho!
We love it here in Star, moved in just over a year ago. Once Hwy 44 is 4 lanes all the way through town (soon) that will help the traffic flow tremendously. FYI, population is now estimate just under 18,000 and growing. Small town feel, all the amenities near by that you would need. Excellent Mayor to boot IMO. Low crime, staffing the PD is a priority to keep up with the growth.

I lived in Star for 20 years… I had a 50 year old home in the middle of the town… it was awful.. my garage got graffiti all the time. My house was broken into four times. The neighborhood was not safe. There was some psychopath. Crazy that would catch wild and stray cats and animals and kill them. The town council and the mayor were all corrupt. They were taking bribes and money from builders. This was a hell hole. It took me a long time to get out of there, but I’m over in Boise now, and I would never go back. Oh there was two meth. Labs over there too. The new housing developments are very nice, but they are still targets for all of the thieves and drug addicts that live over in the town itself over by the Merc.

Is it true they are extending hwy 16 all the way south to conect with 84?
If so when will that be done?
Yes, they are making the connection to 84. It looks like it’s scheduled to be done by 2025
@@livinginidaho That will be huge for Star with the much better access to 84. Home prices and population/development will go up from this a lot. Won't be such a small town for much longer.
The only thing it would really need is a 24/7 Hospital closer to town. Plus expand the min streets for traffic.

Moved to Star in 2020 from remote city in the Mojave Desert. I laugh when I hear people say this is a desert.
Star’s ‘desert’ probably seems like an oasis to you now, complete with mirages of green lawns and the occasional rain shower!
