Lol was 7, i got a 2014 CRF 110 as my first bike, Then at the age of 13, I upgraded to a 125, And then i did something that you really shouldn't do, Witch is go from a 125 To a 450R. Hoo wee i got a big awakening.
@@BackcountryLife Honestly, it wasn't as bad as some people would think. Way better handling, More speed and way more torque. I think the only reason i am able to control it is because the wheels just spin whenever i give it its all. Lol.
If you want your kid to know the fundamentals of cornering fast and how to raise… You absolutely cannot skip the PW 50. It is the back bone of the child learning throttle and corner speed. Starting your child on a four stroke is a recipe to go SLOW
@@BackcountryLife crf50 to a Ktm 50 is a much harder adjustment than a PW to a SX. PW teaches the rider about momentum. While the crf coddles them with engine braking. If you want your kid to win, skip the crf trail line altogether. #thosewhoknow
@@DanHovarter probably depends on the size of the kid and their ability. My boy went PW50 to CRF50 to KTM 50 SX. Seems to have worked well for him. I think the PW50 is the ultimate beginner bike, enough speed to have fun but not heavy and loud or intimidating.
@@idunno1684 🤙they are all completely different 50's, each with their own Niche. If your trail riding in the hills, the Honda is the only way to go. Starting a little guy off for the first time, PW can't be beat. But if you're lining your kid up in a 50cc race where any 50cc bike can enter and you don't have the KTM, you don't have a chance. #CobraSucks
the jump from a PW50 to a KTM 50 is a pretty big jump. The KTM 50 is a full fledge motocross race bike. Larger suspension and more power. Not saying that he couldn't jump from a PW 50 to the KTM 50 but the seat height on the KTM 50 is 26.9 inches and the Yamaha PW 50 is 18.7.

Best video comparison on these 2 bikes ! Thanks a lot bro 👍🏼
You are welcome

lol, that is a huge jump going from a 125 to a 450R. How did that work out?

Now that’s the attitude we want ;)

I agree but once they get to the KTM 50 or 65 SX they have to learn how to control a real bike.

I personally bought the crf50 but you also could have mentioned Suzuki’s drz70. Which is a bump up in power on the same size frame as the 50’s.
Pyro199 thanks for your input. There are not as many DRZ70s floating around but that’s a good option.
I’m the kid and this is helpful
Glad to help!
