The 140GB thing is what happens when you don't strip the engine to optimise assets. Guy literally bought everything off the Unity asset store and put it in a "game"
It's made in Unreal. Would be even funnier if it was made in Unity given the current shitshow going on with that.
Technically u can use unity assets in the unreal engine if royalties got paid

Back a year ago, I was in search of a job as a 3D Character Artist. A friend, got me in contact with the development team for this... thing.
I had the interview, I answered their questions and they said with a pompous attitude. Not even to my face, they had my friend do it for them.
"No, you're still an amateur."
I felt so bad for their response, because 5 years of experience is not amateur by a long shot.
Now, I see this and think to myself... "Dang, my CV dodged a bullet, matrix style."
Then, I go back to my own business and work with actual AAA studios and clients.
Boy, I sure love when people humble pretentious developers.
@@mablesfatalfable6021 There's a difference between being an amateur and being inexperienced. Not forgetting that pure talent is a major factor. I agree about that pompous _and_ cowardly attitude though, having been on the receiving end myself.

The game is broken??? What game?? They just put everything together, placed the models, didn't even check collisions, didn't optimize anything and didn't test anything. This is not even a game.

The “Unemployed” character class has the most skill points. Makes total sense to me.
Of course it does. Self-insert characters for the devs, they gotta be the best.
I think the way it works is that the actual occupations come with pre-selected skills while "unemployed" comes with nothing so you get to build your own character. They seem to have just straight up copied Project Zomboid here but made everything worse.
Project Zomboid is the same way iirc, the idea is a blank build you can curate to your liking [like "Deprived" in Souls games].
They only had seven polygons to spare when designing the zombies, and I think they did a mighty fine job of creating a zombie the Playstation 1 would be proud of (if you ignore the lack of AI, the animation and the textures).

Gollum looks like a masterpiece compared to that "game"...
This was my point. We all mock gollum but that was a real game. And the devs tried their best but it was beyond their skillset. But This game... No one cared because of things like the grey dead bodies which are just manequein assets for placeholders. If they cared the devs would have bought a very basic dead person asset and put that in place instead. The only way what is in the game happens is if someone literally doesn't give a flying fudgebucket!

The fact the "developers" had to patch this abomination on day one because the zombies didn't even move is quite amusing... until you remember they had blown 2.2 million of crowd funded dollars and are now trying to exploit Steam's Early Access service for a quick buck. On a positive note, Mack's reaction is hilarious

I actually had a dream about your rant of this game last night. Watched it right before bed, and ended up with a zombie dream.
Surprisingly I somehow decided to avoid the zombies by making a shelter in a Farris Wheel. Don't recall how I got it to move from inside the cart, but that was my base.
Right beside my Farris Wheel was a motel with a fence. Folks where swimming in the pool, these zombies where no threat in the dream.

The Zombies look like they are break dancing in a very uncoordinated way. There should have a sound track to accompany them lol.

it has been SO long and i could not name you one excellent zombie survival. only state of decay comes to mind and that says a lot about this genre
there are few more, Project Zomboid is still best for me
7 Days to Die is a great zombie survival.
The whole zombie concept has been done to death IMO. World War Z (the film) was slightly refreshing, but really it's a genre that needs a major, major rehash. Which means it'll never happen in the games industry, they'll just keep pouring out this predictable tosh forever.

After I watched your worth a buy yesterday another dead matter video showed up on my feed.
I'm not interested in the game , but apparently the Devs said oops we released the wrong version to live 😂😂 which I don't believe , but they said you can opt into the beta branch on steam to supposedly access the version they meant to release.
I would be interested to see your take on it Mack if you try it .. I'm betting there is no difference though lol 😂

I’ve always wondered how a survival game would be in my Home Province but after seeing this I think that idea should be put to rest.. it’s a shame because Alberta is a really beautiful place with a lot to see so personally I think it’s a missed opportunity to do something nobody else has done before.
