I used to go see these guys play in small smokey clubs often when they first started in Portland in the mid 2000s. So many good drunken times. I booked at one of these said small clubs and they left a large crinkled paper bag with a bunch of instruments like tambourines, shakers, etc after a show one night which they would hand out to the audience to play. A few nights later at their next show, at a different venue, I brought the bag to the front of their typically exuberant, fun and drunken crowd, motioned to the singer, and then proceeded to hand out their leftover mini instruments to their people in the crowd to play along to one of their last songs.
