Excellent review of this early DSLR. Enjoyed seeing your beautiful images and hearing about your adventures in Nepall. Interesting to hear your thoughts of the unique quality of the CCD sensors. I have heard others say also the colour science was created at a time that these sensors were trying to replicate film colours.
Definitely agree to that, and there is a movement towards using CCD based older cameras, that are said to provide more analog film like images. Furthermore, it's good for the environment that not all of us want the newest tech.
The Nikon D100 shoots 3,008 x 2,000 pixel images. If your D100 creates 2,000 pixel wide images you don't have it set at maximum resolution. You spent $2,000 and did not bother to set it to get the best images?
This was the camera no oen could afford. It was the dream of many. Love how Nikon's just work when you need them to.
Yes that's so true. And it still gets my affection even today, so many years after 🙂
I have 2 D100s, love the images out of them. I usually shoot at ISO 400, but ISO 800 looks okay too!
Thanks for your comment. I usually shot low ISO, but when the subject or light requires it, I'm like you not afraid to use 400 or 800.
Thanks for this little review. And for showing your excellent photography, I really enjoy shooting my Nikon D70 which has a similar 6MP ccd sensor.
Thanks for your comment 🙂

обзор фотоаппарата древнего отличный! Я вижу этот Nikon D100 пол мира исколесил !!!
Спасибо. Да, вы абсолютно правы, я купил его в Непале в 2002 году, и с тех пор он много раз путешествовал.
Actually, fun fact, the Nikon D90 was the very first DSLR to shoot video!
Funner fact, I had a D90 and an XL2 and I still own both haha
We should not neglect those older cams.

D780 the last DSLR produced by Nikon

In the video I said my images were 2000 by 3000 pixels (I rounded the 3008 down to 3000), so it's exactly the resolution you mention.
