Awesome video!! I love Diablo everything!!! All their stuff just works and out shine’s everything! Didn’t know they made these. Otherwise I wouldn’t have bought the harbor freight blades. But I’m new to the multi-tool so they’ll get me started. Thank you for this review!!!

I’m going to try these. I was cutting some old rusty nails fine, but the newer nails just sparked and chewed up the blade and smoked..thought I’d catch my house afire before getting thru them.
Thanks for the tip…and the laugh! Great video!

Speed of the oscillation makes a HUGE difference. After cutting literally miles of wood and nail infested wood, I have found that a FASTER oscillation cuts significantly better. When buying a multi-tool, a variable speed electric tool is hands down the best for durability and long lasting cuts without interruption. However, for the handyman and small job carpentry jobs, a battery operated tool works sufficiently. The trick when using a battery tool is to change the battery frequently thus utilizing the highest oscillation at all times. The higher oscillation means you do not force the blade into the material but allow the blade to do the work.

You being the pro, me being the self taught home remodeler...
If the GP blades will cut through nails, why do I need the nail embedded wood blades? When my N.E.W. blades wear out, if I just replace them with more GP blades, will I be losing any functionality?

I wish blade manufacturers would label the blade toward the rear where it won’t wear off. Later I go to use oscillating blades and recip saw blades then I’m like which blade was this again? I know you can get a idea of looking at the teeth count but still it would be easier to just read it.

I (& we) buy bulk OMT blades (bi-metal) in bulk, which is like a penny per blade; for “certain” work. We do also have carbide blades for the jobs that will eat thru those bi-metal blades like nobody’s biz...So, it’s nice to pay the carbide “tax” and have some on site; cuz they sure do help getting the job done.

You can sharpen them several times if you have a dremel diamond wheel and they'll last a very long time which you can find cheap if you check Princess Auto or Harbor Freight, 1/4 Home Depots price. Litterally takes 30 seconds to sharpen at the end of a job.

    • @klubstompers
      @klubstompers 2 роки тому +2

Only problem is that carbide blades are just coated with carbide, so it you sharpen them, you are removing the carbide. This would work great for metal or bi=metal though.

I never realized it until today. I didn't realize it because I don't usually go to one store for one thing, so it never dawns on me who has what most often. That is, it never dawned on me until today.
I was standing in a lowes. I needed a couple of things, and I wanted to walk out of the store with them. So I wasn't going to price shop, I was just going to buy them from Lowes.
I needed Multi tool blades. I only use one brand. Did you ever notice that Lowes does NOT carry Diablo?
I needed a hawk blade knife to cut same laminate. For knives, I only use one brand. Did you ever notice that Lowes does NOT carry Milwaukee?
I guess I never noticed before because I am always shopping online between 5 stores and, after I find my best price, I forget about who won. But I guess, if I had a list of all of my past purchases, Lowes never was the one to sell me these things. I mean, Lowes wins the day with me many times, because they do carry DeWalt and that's my tool brand. But now that I notice this on the accessories, it makes me suddenly see Blue and Orange as something other than equals. Why would you compete head to head in this space, while shunning some of the best brands?
Anyway, that is the thing I noticed today that was probably obvious to everyone BUT me until today.

These blades are good but they’re still over priced. You can ruin any blade if you’re not using the right blade for the job. You should always move the blade along the mail or screw regardless of what it is. Even distribution is the key to longevity. You can get a lot cheaper blades on Amazon and they’re “not bad”. Just use bi metal for nails and wood for WOOD. Don’t force the blade and they’ll all last long enough to get your moneys worth. Imperial and Bosch also make great blades as well as Fein.

Although they may cut a little better, there is no multitool blade for cutting metal that is worth the money. I only use them if there is no other tool that can get to the nail/screw. Use a grinder with a cutting disc. My next choice would be a reciprocating saw blade. Only use multi tool blades when there is no other choice. They are wayyy overpriced and the durability of them is crap. If they were priced at $2-3 that would be a reasonable price point. If you're cutting wood, its still not a good deal. They last much longer but still not for the price point they're sold.

Can we just get a test on wood? No one uses this tool for nails and screws.

I don't know what type of metal your blades are made from, but the Diablo Carbide metal cutting blade I used on some thin, plastic sheet pins (approx. 2mm thick) wore the teeth of the centre of the blade into a curve after only 10 cuts, if that. The blade is now useless for cutting ANY type of nail/screw, no matter how thin it is, there's no teeth left worth a mention on it. I wasn't even pressing hard. The nail embedded wood blades in my set will probably go blunt on just the wood, going by this "performance". Their VERY overated in my opinion and experiance.

I agree, I just bought Milwaukee, Diablo and Dremel blades to compare myself and was huggeeely disappointed with diablo. All 3 were carbide. Dremel killed it! Its 10 times better that diablo and stays sharp for much longer. It cuts through thick metal like through butter. Diablo sucked also for initial start of the cut also, it shifts left and right cant have it steady at all. Garbage

Clint, be honest with me bro, now that you've had time with both the M18 & M12 multi tools say someone steals both tools...
After a long well thought out planning of their assassination in your head...which tool are you missing most 🤷🏻
Which one do you replace first?

You know how much these cost ouch 🤯 I would prefer buying some cheap ezarc and get 10 times the amount of blade 😂

While cutting the drywall screws he counted to 3 …gotta admit, THAT was a bit of a surprise!!😏🤪
Seriously though; those blades [regardless of Brand] can cost a small fortune ….it was nice to discover increasing your investment from ‘Jeff Bezos’ level to ‘Elon Musk’ is, in this case, worth it. 👍🏻
