My Michigan Tech: Matt Johnson

Matt Johnson dreamt of being a paleontologist as a child, but when he discovered chemistry in high school, it led him down the path to discovering materials science and engineering. Since then, Matt has worked hard and is on track to graduate with an MSE degree in the spring of 2025.
Just because he works hard at school doesn’t mean he can’t have fun. Matt has been actively participating in many clubs on campus and works closely with the Materials United club and the Cast in Steel competition, where students compete to design a tool that performs the best.
Matt fell in love with the idea that you can shape an MSE degree into anything you want it to be. His passion for the field has encouraged him to work towards a master's or doctorate in the field after he finishes his bachelor's degree. Where will your Michigan Tech degree take you?
