I would love one, more electronics than the R1. A 119hp isn’t much for its 890cc I wish it made closer to 130-140hp but other use this bike is awesome for it price tag! 12,499 for r1 electronics and more torque than an r6 could imagine. It’ll be super cool to see it go up against 600cc super sports and bikes in its class. I bet ya it’ll hit at-least 155-165mph with the smaller rear sprocket and better aero. It’s not a replacement for the R6 or R1 it’s a new concept. It’s supposed to be for those who want a more comfortable supersport that make usable power and lots of low down grunt. I can’t wait to test ride one and really see if it’s as good as it seems!
Oh, look, another person talking out of their ass. The bike hasn't even come to market yet, and already, they're bashing it. Talk about closed-minded black and white fanboy idiot's. 🙄🙄😮💨😮💨😑😑. In my opinion, I believe you should buy one and try it out before bashing it.
Sad to say the Japs have given up on the Inline-4 middleweights. Also sad to say the Chinese are heading in the better direction. The GSXR750 needs an electronic package update because when it comes to outright performance and specs it blows this R9 away and they havnt changed a thing in a decade. Losing the R6 was devastating and idc what chasis you stick a parallel twin motor in its not a Supersport bike. It will never give that sensation that I've become addicted to over 20+yrs now. But I predict the kids will love em.
The R9 is not in the same class as either of those bikes. An on track comparison video would, however, be interesting. Other manufacturers will be clammering to build bikes that directly compete with the R9.
@@peno486 its clearly not. the r9 is indeed better then the r6 tech and power wise, thte only r6's good thing is the design we can all agree that he r6 is a overrated bike. there are so many better options nowdays like littteraly every otther supser sport, zx6r cbr600 ec
The R6 is like the hot ex. Who was more exciting but harder to use for long rides. R9 seems more a keeper. I had the 06 R6. What an amazing bike it was! Learned a lot about supersport riding. At this time I have the z900rs. Very fun bike but a bit heavy. I might get the R9 to get similar tourqiness on the street ..
@@realmyth01 r6 is insane just lacks tech and torque compared to other super sports like the v2 gsxr 750 etc, the design is honestly unbeatable it is indeed the most beautiful bike i have ever seen.
if you compare between the r9 and the mt09 it should be r9 vs mt09 SP, as the SP is the most identical to the r9 since yamaha is only release the r9 in that one single variant
As a supersport rider, would you make the switch to the Yamaha R9? It’s packing almost the same horsepower, but with way more torque. Plus, it’s got decent suspension, advance rider aids, and the price is pretty similar. Whats your thought?
As a R1 Rider i just dont get alle the hate on the net atm. It was just what i wanted as a second daily driver….. The engine is one of the best dailys out there. If you wanna full send? Nah, inline 4 all the way but for beginners and as a daily? Sure.
I'm definitely buying one as soon as they're available! This bike is revolutionary. Other manufacturers will be clammering to make direct competitors. By mid June people will be saying it's the next Daytona 675!
Theyre getting so cheap and lazy with the engineering. If Triumph could squeeze that much HP out of a 675 triple almost 20yrs ago wtf? They leave the motor untouched from the MT? The HP figures sound Ludacris to someone who started riding in the late 90's. Bikes like the GSXR750 make much more sense to me having better chasis and performance, i dont need electronic aids. I have them on my S1KRR and wish i didnt. But the kids love this electronic tech. The British love triples. It's gonna be a great stepping stone from the middleweight parallel twins. I predict great sales for this bike as for it fitting right in for modern times.❤
The R3 looks more sporty than this crap. It’s even worse than the new 2025 Panigale V4. What's more sad is that the MT09SP 2024 has better fork and shock and electronics aids for racing. Like, why you could not make the same fking look and design exactly like the R6 and R1. Why you need to change an already masterpiece?! I guess our olds were right, OLD IS GOLD. R6 and R1 prices will go even further to the moon.
well sp should have a better fork right. As far as better electronic aids for racing thats just straight bs. You dont think they will release an r9 sp in the near future? of course they will. They have to release the standard bike first then comes the sp within a year.

Only its mother could live that face 🤷🏻♂️ and will it attract more customers to Yamaha or simply split those already wanting an MT09 ? But I guess it’s more fun than Suzuki’s little 880 twin

For torque, please use Nm for the unit not nm.

wish they made it 4 cylinder or just used r6 engine and tweak it abit to 900 cc
Yamaha tried to use same engine and/or chassis for multiple bikes like Honda, yet they still failed to do so.

12,400$ for an 880cc not bad
