British version of orientation is freshers week and everyone just goes to 1 university induction lecture then the rest of the week is house/flat parties and a week of going out to get drunk. But the way of introducing yourself to someone is exactllyyyy the saaaame
As an incoming college freshman I see y’all as the older sisters I never had😭 being the first college student in the family is difficult but this definitely helped!!
I’m the first in my family to go to college and I’m so confused on these college apps and the whole college thing, so thank you so much for the advice! It feels like you’re both my older sisters or something ❤️
hey guys, since you’re all here to hear college advice and experience, first of all, if you feel like you should take a gap year please do, for me i knew that i should’ve taken a gap year but i pushed myself and that lead me to drop out from my first college after literally one month of attending classes! i then got into another uni after a year and did amazing, moral of the story if your body and mind are telling you to stop you should really listen, i thought i should push myself because i’m a straight a’s student but look where that led me! secondly, it’s okay to take time!! you don’t have to finish college on time! you don’t have to finish college in just three years, take your time and fix your schedule the way that feels comfortable to you and that will suit your lifestyle best. finally, make friends and have fun a little, don’t take everything too seriously, the years yku spend in college will never comeback so just enjoy your time and stay away from drama and toxic people
I'm still in college and my experience was and still is an absolute rollercoaster. I wanted to graduate within 4 years but had so many complications with transferring, changing majors, and mental illness (which made me take a gap year before and is still a setback currently sometimes). I needed that gap year because I already had depression before but not knowing what I wanted out of school and fearing that I was wasting money was really screwing me over more. btw I also went from a semester at a 4-year to a community college and back to another 4-year and would say that my time at that community college was amazing!! cc's are definitely underappreciated. I "should have" graduated last year but am still in school. I find comfort in seeing other people my age or older in my sophomore and junior classes. I'm even open to younger friends ofc. I never truly made new friends, just people I've known from hs or work, but I'll be sure to use that roleplay in the coming future lol!! I still don't feel comfortable talking about all of this even in safe spaces, like I am very disappointed in myself, but yeah... lol.
everyone in the comments are saying how they're starting college soon while im here as a sophomore in high school. i meannnn, head starts are always helpful
I just wanna give some advice to really enjoy your days in HS. Time flew by so fast lmao I regret I didn't get to enjoy it to the fullest potential. Take every opportunity! I'm in 2nd year college rn and wish that I could go back to highschool where me and my friends were all together and the subjects were just math, science etc. 😆
I just transferred to a 4 year from a community college. Currently adjusting to a very different college environment and I also isolated myself (which is making me sad) 😩😩 Thank you for this video guys, So helpful!!! Kiss on the cheek for both of y’all 😘😘

This is actually really helpful- I’m a senior now and I agree with everything they say. Even if the last two years of my college life is still with the whole pandemic, a lot of these tips I applied when I was a freshman. The whole friend thing really hit hard because my first group of friends and I don’t even talk anymore. Remember, it’s okay not to have a huge group of friends in college, just pick the people who will be good to you and who you could be good too. Always have someone you can go to when you’re having trouble or missing some homework, and help them too!! There are some people who just leech off others so you have to watch out for that. A tip for those who want to party and drink and stuff- start with small house parties and know what your limit is. Don’t get too drunk or don’t let yourself blackout because it’s dangerous. Always have a buddy or be in a group that you trust. I partied a lot as a freshman and sophomore and I was able to get really good grades because I figured out a system that helped me balance having fun and studying smart. Like they said, know your brain, figure out what works best for you so your grades and the commitments you’re in won’t get screwed up with partying. Good luck to everyone! This really is a whole new chapter in your life and let me tell you- it will come by quick and you won’t even notice. Take this opportunity to have fun and gain experience- oh and get on linked in!! If you’re a senior in high school- get on LinkedIn and build your online profile. I wish I did that sooner
I just graduated this year too and could've used this advice as a freshman haha these videos feel like we're all friends talking about our experiences i love it
literally first day of college i didn't know where one of my classes was, heard one of my classmates did so i introduced myself, asked for her number, we walked to class together and 3 years later she's one of my closest friends, i just spent the day with her after 2 months of not seeing each other 😁the most random spontaneous interactions usually bring the best people in your life 🙏 or at least they did for me 😂
I’m currently a senior in college but I decided last week that I’m gonna double major which I’m stoked about! Even though, I was supposed to graduate next year, I said “f3ck it” and decided to go for what I’m truly passionate about. You’re only in college once, so might as well go for your dreams. 🌌💜✨

it's sad that i never got to hear this advice when i started college but these are really helpful for me as i could use it for the next school years. thank u so much for this
Not having an 8 am class is such a luxury like in my college my core subject lectures literally start at 8:30 or so, and I even have classes on Saturdays (can't say if that happens everywhere or not but still *sigh*). This video is so informative, nothing seems too overdone. everything is in the right amount. Love you both. :)
i started college at a liberal arts university, then went to community college, and now i'm going to graduate from a big public university next winter and i wanted to add some advice! start applications EARLY! in high school, i applied last minute to all my schools and only got into two private universities and didn't get into any of the state schools. i almost wish i took a gap year or started at community college, but i love the friends i met at my first school and i think orientation is the BEST way to make friends (reasons why i've been having trouble making friends at my new university) complimenting
Advice to any seniors in high school. When you enter college and you see an assignment due at midnight, 99 times out of 100, the assignment is due at 11:59PM. Make sure you ask your professor though, but midnight usually implies 11:59PM, not 12:00AM.

An advice for American unis: make groupchats for your smaller classes so everyone can share due dates/assignments/etc (my experience this groupchat can be really dry but at least someone will answer you when ur asking for the zoom link/class location). Also for me, we have multiple groupchats for our whole major (with like 200+ people) just so people can talk about more general assignments or help each other out before exams and give you information on applying for classes etc. In Europe people use WhatsApp but whatever chat app that's more popular locally also works. Hope this helps! (Also, I've always been a quiet follower but I think this can be useful)

24:00 *not even broadway directors:* *Amber during the skit: 'aSHLEY, agAIN'* this entire skit made me wHEEZE bc Ashley's "oh cool" response is LITERALLY what my social awk self replies with too😂😭🤚
Ashley: Unless your like a crazy morning person don't take 8 a.m. classes. Me: Wakes up at 6:30 to be ready for my 8 a.m. classes because I knew if I was late my teacher would lock the door.
My dad is pressuring me to go to college this year and I’m literally 16😐 I finished my igcses but I wanted a gap year to explore myself, it’s been 4 months & I’ve already done a lot of self reflection & exploring myself, but I still have so many things I want to do before college and I’m in no way shape or form mentally prepared for it. If you have the opportunity to take a gap year, take it!! 😩
GOOD LUCK EVERYONEEE I BELIEVE IN ALL OF U!!!!❤️❤️❤️ We are all in dis together & remember that pitbull has been there and done that

Hello lovelies
My dad is pressuring me to go to college this year and I’m literally 16😐
I finished my igcses but I wanted a gap year to explore myself, it’s been 4 months & I’ve already done a lot of self reflection & exploring myself, but I still have so many things I want to do before college and I’m in no way shape or form mentally prepared for it. If you have the opportunity to take a gap year, take it!! 😩
