Gonna be honest bruv this game is more than worth ur time, its one of these few games that make you feel so immersed that you feel like you're watching a movie instead of playing rts.
I love the creativity they used for these trailers and how it really sets the mood for the game and makes it easy for you to imagine what's going on in other parts of the world while you play through the storymode.
I agree, it really sold me on the WW3 scenario for the game. It made me felt immersed that WW3 was actually happening and doesn't feel cliched like most alternate history scenarios, it felt it was grounded in reality.

Without supply they fought a meaningless defence and lost.

This game was outstanding. I wish they would remaster this with today's tech. This game came out in 2007. They did a damn good job making this game. I never like RTS type games but this one changed my mind. They have definitely set the bar.

As for the islands, that was pudget sound(don't remember exactly if that was the name) with some Soviet ASM launcher that was going only to delay the Chinese.

It is an utter shame there will never be a sequel to this amazing game. It wasn't just the gameplay, the story was so immersive and was just so goddamn good.

If the USSR landed an army in Seattle by surprise from unmarked container ships like that, how could they possibly then have kept it supplied? Zany idea.
The presentation behind this is surreal. Some of these small segments feature terrain you might expect in a regular warzone/battlefield, only for the camera to show civilian areas and common places you could be. I'm not American, but seeing footage like this might have hit the spot.
The bad part is that it lacks realism, while on the ground, sure the Soviets could be powerful, and the campaign would make sense, it just deletes the US Navy and Air Force completely.
In game,it was shown to us that a large chunk of US Army was busy in Europe fighting Soviets and the fact that they sneaked inside cargo ships instead of sending their full fledged navy and air force to fight American Navy/Air Force not giving enough time for US military to regroup and force them to retreat.
yeah somehow I doubt they would prepare an invasion of america in the same way they prepared for a coup in Ukraine. Something tells me they wouldn't invade america with 200k riot police.
There's a fairly big difference between modern day Russia and the USSR granted military corruption was still rampant back then in the USSR just like modern day Russia so lot of equipment logistics were still hooped the big cutting edge the USSR had over Russia was it's control over large industrial hubs now in modern day Poland, Ukraine and Romania also the USSRs commanding officers were actual veterans that served in conflicts abroad and internally now where did all this experience staffed go well most obviously passed as away or were from territories outside of Russia which they would later return to after the collapse of the USSR a great example of the direct effects of this loss is the Chechen war where you had new blood Russian soldiers and officers fighting a small breakaway state that had experienced troops defending it.

The bad part is that it lacks realism, while on the ground, sure the Soviets could be powerful, and the campaign would make sense, it just deletes the US Navy and Air Force completely.
In game,it was shown to us that a large chunk of US Army was busy in Europe fighting Soviets and the fact that they sneaked inside cargo ships instead of sending their full fledged navy and air force to fight American Navy/Air Force not giving enough time for US military to regroup and force them to retreat.

There's a fairly big difference between modern day Russia and the USSR granted military corruption was still rampant back then in the USSR just like modern day Russia so lot of equipment logistics were still hooped the big cutting edge the USSR had over Russia was it's control over large industrial hubs now in modern day Poland, Ukraine and Romania also the USSRs commanding officers were actual veterans that served in conflicts abroad and internally now where did all this experience staffed go well most obviously passed as away or were from territories outside of Russia which they would later return to after the collapse of the USSR a great example of the direct effects of this loss is the Chechen war where you had new blood Russian soldiers and officers fighting a small breakaway state that had experienced troops defending it.

In 2007 when this game came out, Russia starting WW3 was a terrifying idea. Nowadays, we know that Russia could never invade any superpower, because they can't even handle one little nation.
