😮Sir CZ, you are one of my top 10 creators and I see you in the comments on a lot of the videos I watch on this wild platform. Just reinforces my assumption that you have great taste and an artistic eye 😊
I read an article from dieticians about the mustard diet and the negative they said was, "it's a lot of raw vegetables, so if you're not used to that much fiber, you might have gastrointestinal distress." This "diet" doesn't seem harmful, just a little too much mustard for my taste. Thank you for being so even-keeled in your analysis.
@@lisaloomerIt definitely can be far more negative than that. If you suddenly start eating a ton of fiber and you aren't use to it you're most likely going to suffer from debilitating stomach cramps and multiple trips per day to the bathrom with soft or loose BMs. If you happen to be someone who already suffers from GI problems and tries this, it's most likely going to aggravate those problems. For someone not use to a ton of fiber or for someome with GI problems, their best bet is to ease into this so that the body has time to adjust to all the fiber.
So it’s the exact same thing as eating raw veggies with pretty much ANY condiment. It’s getting you to eat better or fill up on healthier snacks with the illusion that it’s some magical component like mustard or mayonnaise or freaking fairy dust for all intent and purposes.. Jeez and Rice people really are idiot sheep 🤦♀️
I went fully raw, just jumped right in and absolutely nothing bad happened. I think doctors and anti vegan dieticians just like to scare people away from healing their bodies.
My 18 yr old daughter came to me the other day and was telling me about this diet, but she didn't describe it as a diet to lose weight, just a type of healthy lunch is what she called it. She was saying she wants to try it so bad. She said, "I don't even know what cottage cheese is or what it tastes like, I've never had it, but I'm craving it so bad now." What a strange thing it is how much influence online personalities have over people.
Tell your daughter that cottage cheese is awesome! She might like it sweet at first, maybe a little bit of jam to make it fruity and sweet.. I eat cottage cheese for breakfast and lunch- it’s my favorite food.
I'm not trying to advocate for this diet, but you should let your daughter try cottage cheese cuz I love cottage cheese. The fact that she wants to eat foods she hasn't tried before? i think that's awesome.
I just started myself on a diet about a week ago for the first time in my life. Everybody has a diet for their own personal reasons. Mine is for my IBS constipation. Since I just started a diet for the first time in my life, I'm starting off small with implementing things into my diet like cucumber, tomato, and avocado salad. I'm pretty sure in a month, it will become something more. (I just ordered a bacon and eggs to have protein) I might learn more. And my diet will probably change over time based on blood work, symptoms, different tastes in foods, etc. I cut out most carbs and most sugars. I still have bread. But I'm a sucker for tiny donuts. Diabetes also runs in my family. Ultimately decided to start eating healthy because I got tired of being bloated & constipated from processed food. Also, I was never full or satisfied.
I didn’t realize she’d become known as the mustard lady 😂 I’ve always considered her a creature of habit eater, find one thing you like and eat it until it just doesn’t hit the spot anymore. I’m the same way!
Jamie’s sense of humor and editing skills have created some of THE best content out there! It’s content GOLD! She should def make each of those segments into shorts (for purposes of both: ease of access for current subs who want to re-watch those “hidden throughout her longer video” segments, AND they’d gain her massive numbers of new followers!!!!).
Just feel the need to add; Somi USED to eat 3 bananas a day when she was in the group IOI, because in the label the group was under, there were very strict weight expectations. Somi does not advocate for this at all and just explained that this was a hardship she faced in the past.
Oh my God I cannot believe I found a K-pop fan in these comments I never have found a random kpop comment usually I'm the one commenting something kpop related hahaha it's refreshing honestly
Unfortunately this is a normal thing in kpop. Somi with 3 bananas a day, IU with sweet potato, apples, and a protein shake, Blackpink eating 1-3 times out of a tiny cup, diet pill/konjac jelly meals, etc. I so wish that would be removed out of the kpop world but when you get fans that are constantly pushing unhealthy habits on idols it will never end
The problem goes both way : most idols are underweight / undereat because of the strict company policies and fan expectations, and fans keep saying their idols are "naturally skinny" and "eat healthy" which in 95% of cases is not true imho. It's the ugly side of the industry :(
I think somi struggles a lot with either eating disorders or eating disorders behaviors because some of the stuff she says are sad. The way she constantly posts her weight and her BMI on her IG, the way she talks badly about her past chubby self saying her body wasn’t perfect back then, she also loves talking about her weight loss in general. I think her being in the industry from such a young age, probably hearing how great she looks after losing weight, and the obvious self esteem issues have definitely took a toll on her. Her parents even commented how much she changed in the year she was with IOI. Her mom found so much medication in her belongings when they were helping her pack up and move out the dorm for various pain. Her mom literally said there’s a medicine for every type of sickness in here….And they were so sad to see it and she told them I really have been working hard this past year. As someone with an ED, i feel very sad for those idols. It’s already so hard for me to live my normal typical boring life with an ED, i can’t imagine working in an industry that heavily focuses on my appearance.
I actually don't know much about Kpop but a friend of mine was in a group (a very famous one too but it was all male) and he would tell me ALL sorts of horrible diet stories. SM Town? I think they are the most notorious ones for doing strict diets and height/weight requirement to be in those groups. Not sure if things have changed now but at the height of my friend's career (early 2010s) he said even the guys are subjected to very low calorie diets (he is 5'11 almost 6ft and they make him eat less than 1600 calories!) The perspective from him and his group mates (they speak English well/are from America) is so interesting because they are westernized and understand that the standards are kinda absurd. Like, girls were encouraged to eat less than 800 calories a day, take lots of vitamins, and protein shakes. But apparently it was "justified" for the girls to eat 800 calories because they were only like 80-90lbs. From my knowledge, some of the labels like JYP, CUBE, are way more lenient. And if the girls decide to not eat or eat little, it isn't because the labels are forcing them. It is just so competitive that no one wants to be the "fat one".
I'm always so bummed when I hear you talk about the hate comments you unfortunately receive. I just wanted to let you know that I think you, and the content you put out, are awesome 💖 I always get excited to see when you have a new video out, so just, ya know - thanks for being you!
As much as you have steered from the hair makeup content, as a natural/wavy curly haired lady who looks into all different products to get it right, I'd love to see a video on your daily routine for your hair 😊
Mustard really is good on everything. When I was cutting sugars, mustard was a super easy and flavorful way to make food interesting. Not just the yellow mustard she’s using either, the grainy stuff and horseradish is super nice! Don’t knock it till ya try it y’all!
When I was a 14 year old anorexic, mustard was my jam. No fat, almost no calories and no sugar. Seriously…I used to put it on my (meticulously measured) spaghetti. It’s actually impressive how many things it tastes good on. I definitely WAS skinny but certainly not healthy. Still like mustard. I just put it on regular things now though lol
I wish my mustard loving self would've thought of that, for like 3 years I was very underweight due to bowel issues and the only thing saving me was frozen hamburger patties, frozen hashbrown patties and bean burritos lmao
Jaime can literwlly talk about anything and she will having me actually LAUGHING so much, the end when she was eating and trying to talk like the mustard lady had me HOWLING ...how are you so funny without even trying???
As an "old", I can't help but be annoyed (which is why I don't have tiktok). Sooo many viral videos are posted by ppl who act like they're the first person who's ever thought to freeze water into cubes overnight to make your drinks cold the next day 🙄
Celine "Dijon"! Jaime, you are a delight and I love watching you discuss these crazy stories with an open-minded and kind approach. There are a lot of scammers out there but also there are lot of people who find something that works for them and decide to try and share it with no ill-will even if they aren't fully educated on why what they're doing has worked for them. You give all the facts and are not quick to judge. Love your content!
I love hello fresh . As a disabled person living alone, it's reasonable and you can make different meals you wouldn't have thought about, really easy and all portioned perfectly! I love it x 😍
I agree. It’s helpful to just have the ingredients you need portioned out instead of oops I need to buy this or this etc you can just get it all in one setting and it avoids a lot of waste.
What quality I like about Jamie that no other commentary youtuber has is that, she does not jumps to conclusions and tries her best to remain as unbiased and reasonable as possible, even when everyone is calling a person out she does not gets influenced by the tone of the narratives against the person and always gives a benefit of doubt and a chance to listen and understand other side of the story. This makes the viewer think about all aspects of a situation instead of just dogpiling a particular problematic person/situation
Yes, it's good to do that, but it's also important to be realistic. You can't take the stance of 'I can't hate on other women for how they make money' if they're hurting other people, can you?
Tiktok has genuinely made me terrified that people are just doing whatever they see without any common sense. I was on something called a 'milk diet'. I had to go on it to shrink my liver before bariatric surgery and admittedly, I lost 6lbs in weight. BECAUSE MY LIVER SHRUNK. Whenever I mention this fact, nobody picks up on the fact it is a Short term (3 weeks only) diet to reduce my liver size temporarily so that my surgery could take place and ask me what I ate and how I ate it so THEY can lose weight. I'm like: 'It is reduce the size of an organ that should not be reduced in weight ordinarily under medical supervision'. People do not care about their long term health as long as they have weight loss.
Same. Before I had lapband surgery, I had to go on a 2 week long-all liquid diet. I was allowed a certain amount of liquid or purée food a day. For instance breakfast was a protein shake and cottage cheese. Lunch was a protein shake, soup broth, and a sugar free pudding. Dinner was soup broth, cottage cheese and tomato juice. And tons of water. I dropped 17 pounds in 2 weeks. But I was also on a ALL LIQUID DIET and only for 2 weeks and only to shrink my liver so the laparoscopic surgery went easier. But people hear “17 pounds in 2 weeks” and are ready to retire their need for teeth lol lol
💯 regarding thyroid issues. I went on a carnivore type diet years ago and lost nothing. I stuck to this diet to the letter, excercised 4 times a week to no avail. It was very frustrating! My friends and family did the same thing and were like "oh, i lost 20lb in 3 minutes." I exaggerate, of course but that what it felt like . Lol. Got my thyroid checked and, lo and behold that was the issue.
SAME! I've had hashimoto's hypothyroid for the last 25 years. they say you shouldn't eat less than 1,200 calories per day, but I need to eat around 800 calories a day to be able to lose weight.
I remember when I was in middle school back in the early 90s, there was a soup diet. Campbells and Progresso ran tons of commercials saying soup is the perfect meal, not coming out and saying "it's a diet!". I was an overweight teenager, and their campaign worked.
@@Cobweb_Cowgod I did the soup diet with my mum as well when I was a teenager. But it was the dreaded cabbage soup diet 😆 Tasted fine………. It was the after effects that made it especially hard to want to stay committed to it.
@@Cobweb_Cowomg Herbalife 😅 my friends didn’t understand why I didn’t want to leave my govt job to ‘be my own boss’ and ‘part of their growing team’ 😬
So I never did a soup diet but my mom made soup at least once a week for dinner. I don’t think people eating broth is sound but soup with protein (chicken, beef, pork, fish, tofu), grain/noodles, and a variety of vegetables is pretty well balanced in terms nutrients. Lol soup is still one of my favorite meals because it’s so comforting to me and versatile.
Omg you should win an award just for the green screen news chat in this video 😂😂😂 It was so perfect. And really highlighted how awkward the actual conversation was just based on those dudes’ faces/reactions, yet your dialogue made it 1000000 times funnier than the actual conversation. Sooo perfect. It was great 😂😂😂😂
As someone currently on a highly restrictive diet (placed on it by my doctor for the next six weeks) to try and control some medical issues, it can be down right uncomfy to eat in front of others. All I get is side eye for whatever I am eating and I can feel the "E.D., you think?", stares happening.
Meanwhile, when I go to the Dr, I feel like they believe that I overeat 🙃 When I actually don't, I just have PCOS and my body hates me with a multitude of problems 😆 They preach calorie restriction as if I'm sitting here binge eating 🤦♀️ Honestly though, women have it rough any way you look at it. I hope that your prescribed diet works well for you, best wishes 🤗
I found you through Obese2Beast’s review of your Ozempic video and now I’m binging your videos. I had no idea what I was missing and now “I’m obsessed” 😂 I’ve watched like dozens of your movie reviews and laughing out loud every day. Thank you for your comedic services ❤️
Great tip about getting the thyroid checked! Not just the thyroid, but I’d say go consult with a dr if you have trouble with weight gain or loss, suddenly.
It's things like that, chasing a beauty standard that is hurting people's self image, is why I'm happy being a proud bear. I weigh around 120kg, and while I'm not in the best shape I workout and instead of trying to lose the weight I'm just building muscle mass while still appreciating the fat I have in my body. I love my belly, I love being thick, and I love being curvy, and I still feel healthy and I still watch my health, I'm proud of my body. Being fat and being sexy or beautiful are not mutually exclusive. We need more body positivity and less chasing something that society told us is beautiful.
I’m glad you brought up getting the thyroid checked, Jaime! It plays a huge role in metabolism and an under active one (like I have) or an overactive one should definitely be addressed.
I can’t eat cottage cheese because it makes me really nauseous, so seeing all the globs of cottage cheese and mustard that this lady had mixed up made me feel ILL
YESSSS-I’m old so I’m not really on TikTok, but when I saw ‘The Mustard Lady’ I thought she looked familiar. I bought one of her diet plans in 2016 or 2017. It was extremely low calorie. She had the keto phase, a vegetarian era. I believe she had a baby since then so I’m sure she could be using post partum weight loss as part of her journey, not just reusing the same 80 lbs lost story. I eventually quit following because she was always pushing a new diet or products.
I am right here with you, after I bombed out of the air force due to a bum hip, I gained 50 pounds and got super depressed. Found out last year that I have thyroid issues. Now I'm on the right medicine and eating healthy!
Thank you so much! I’m baffled by people seriously trying to diagnose people with ED’s. Sure…..someone eating a salad with their burger instead of fries is “disordered”. It’s okay for people to try to find the best way to eat for themselves that makes them feel the best. The vitriol is nutty too. If someone does have an ED, they need help not to be ripped apart on social media. Thank you for highlighting this.
First of all, I don't understand how people could accuse you of having a eating disorder because you tried Ozempic. People are so toxic and gross. Second, Jaime...You are awesome! You are hilarious and creative. We are so blessed to get to see your content. Third, I am sure almost everyone already knows this, but these people aren't losing weight because of the mustard, they are probably losing weight because they are eating lots of vegetables, fruit and lower fat proteins.
Don't let people drag you for doing a diet that is aimed at improving your health!! You're doing so great jaime. I really value that you're always seeking to improve your health. I have quite a few chronic health issues and seeing you keep trying new things gives me hope.
Whenever I see you upload a video I never click on a video faster from any other subscriber. I truly love this series of you debunking and talking about these current trends/controversies/random topics I’ve never even heard of. I especially like today’s topic because I am currently on this specific cottage cheese and mustard diet. So far I’m loving this dish and I am enjoying this video so far. I always watch your videos while I’m doing something, so I’ve watched your videos at least 10 times each 😆🩷 Love you and hope to meet you in person someday Jaime!!
As a Canadian I love both the Celine Dijon line and the CTV clip. For some reason whenever there is a piece with people on Zoom Canadian news is inexplicably more awkward than other countries LOL idkkkkk😅
I know this is old but I was late to the mustard lady and I can't explain it but this woman legitimately had me at the grocery store buying apple sausages and cottage cheese and making one of these plates. It was awful lol. It wasn't even for dieting....she legitimately had me convinced it was delicious.
I used to follow this girl on instagram when she was first going through her journey (mustard excluded). Seeing this video pop up was like whiplash in a way lol… I had no idea she was famous for something like this now 😅crazy. She’s literally got (or had, I guess?) her own meal plan and pre-workout/protein powder products. I’m ashamed to admit that I did buy her meal plan for tips and such, but it was so basic that I didn’t go any further than that. Pretty glad I didn’t, now.
Bc people watch it. If folks would stop giving them the views, they wouldn't keep upping the ante. I've thankfully never seen any of the things Jaime's talked about recently. Honestly not a single one after scrolling back. And I'm on, like, all day.
It does because in order to keep getting growth/views, you have to standout more. All these systems rely on abnormal growth patterns and everyone is worried about growth for some reason.
Between you and a video from another UA-camr (Sharmeleon), you encouraged me to get my thyroid checked. Thankfully it's not cancer, but Hashimoto's. Hopefully I can figure out how to manage it before any diet or lifestyle changes. Honestly, I'd be down to see more information as to how you manage things after the thyroid issues you went through, but that's just me. 🧡
I’m not gonna lie, I legit chuckled, just looking at the thumbnail. I love the sheer possibility of what all would Jamie do with this topic in the video. I’m so excited to have clicked on it and now I’m here for the 20 minutes of pure clean humour. Thank you Jamie. God bless you
I know, half moon, I had to back up the vid and squint like 3 times to figure out that indeed it’s COTTAGE CHEESE AND MUSTARD. And then I felt sick thinking about that combo. NO! Just no thank you, please get away from me, mustard lady. Also, it’s so weird that people get some random woman’s diet advice from that app. People are straight up stupid.
@@nonprofitgirl I get that it's not something you would like but you gotta chill out a little bit. If people enjoy it, let them. No need freaking out over it because other people do.
I enjoy hearing about your health and what you’re doing. I also struggle with my health so hearing what you’re doing to improve yours is helpful to me. I’m really enjoying your content lately. I find it funny and entertaining so thank you.
This is one of the few TikTok trends I've actually seen. Between this mustard thing and TikTok's new obsession with acting like cottage cheese is a brand new thing and eating huge piles of it mixed with eggs, (wtf?) Food content has been extra wacky lately. They're like mukbangs, but not really. 🤔
Off topic, can I just say thank you for your content. My life has been an absolute horror in the last year and watching for videos always makes me laugh. I'm constantly on the verge of tears, breaking down, blah blah and the laughter keeps me together. Seriously, I so appreciate you.❤
I WASN'T READY FOR THE GREEN SCREEN lol. I always expect it in the movie reviews but I wasn't expecting it here. You did such a great job of breaking down this subject seriously but managed to inject some appropriate humor and I love you for that
Ngl the brats with cottage cheese and mustard slaps. I had it for breakfast the other day because I saw Michelle Platti eating it and it was so delicious and filling haha. But I like adding condiments like mustard, pesto etc to my cottage cheese so I knew I was gonna like it haha
To be honest all I really ever get from these different diet trends is the underlying obsession with being skinny as possible and people being willing to try literally anything to lose a couple pounds. No matter how dangerous or strange or just questionable. It's so hard to see any sort of diet and not get angry or roll my eyes. Because usually its just eat this combination of things to be skinny instead of let's build a healthy relationship with food and our bodies and if weight loss would improve your health, work on it. Drives me nuts
I think every video I watch of hers I am again thankful to her for warning us of impending ads and transitioning into them. Makes such a difference to my (and probably many others') mental states and makes the overall viewing experience better/more relaxing Like sure I don't WANNA watch the ad, but at least now it's not abrupt and stressful and it didn't interrupt the person I was watching mid-sentence 👍
Man I don’t usually agree with the people who say the younger generation is too sensitive…. But getting legitimately stressed out by commercials? Idk babe..
Oh my gosh! I had no idea this was a thing! Lol whatever floats you're boat, but I could totally see it just all tasting like mustard after a few bites, like you said. Side note, I would love to see a video about your recent journey with your thyroid and diet stuff; I'm the same age as you and just discovered a thyroid issue and diet change to manage it.
Bingo. Ive done physique competitions (similar to bodybuilding) and my diet was pretty low carb with lots of protein including cottage cheese 😅 and the only condiments allowed was mustard. The rest have too much sugar I.e. ketchup, bbq sauce etc.
The absolute artistic supremacy and comedic gold of your news interview will live in my brain, rent free, FOREVER. Omg the execution. The brilliance. The mustard? The crippling existentialism. 👌🏻 Mmmmph
I remember the Banana Diet being a popular fad diet featured everywhere on Japanese TV years ago. Each show will give you surface level info on how the diet works just for you to find out there are like a million rules that you need to by a whole damn text book for in order to properly follow the diet regimen.
When Jaime first mentioned the banana diet I thought "well, it's generally not healthy to be so extreme and eat only one thing, but at least with bananas there are vitamins and fibre, so ..." and then I got to the part of the video where it said the K-Pop star only ate THREE bananas a day. That's less than 300 kcal a day, which is nowhere near what a person needs. I had assumed a banana diet would mean you can eat as many bananas as you want
Thank you for inserting your comedic commentary on diet TikTok ! Sometimes I feel like people take things too seriously, and you find a way to address an issue with nuance in such an entertaining way!
Hey Jaime! I know you probably won't read this, but my anxiety and depression have been out of control recently :') Your videos help me so so much!! More than you'll ever know
I have anxiety induced agoraphobia…hello fresh has helped me so much this past year to make sure I have meals to cook for my family and only one recipe has been a bust…the meatloaf is gross…lol
Hi Jamie! LMAO your news clip!😂 ❤ U! (P.S. i think you are the only youtuber who warns us about commercial breaks and I So MUCH appreciate it!, it makes the transition so much nicer! Thank you for all your hard work on these. I know how much time and energy it takes!)⭐️🌟💫🌙🙏
Growing up with a German family we have a meal that uses cottage cheese mixed with chopped onion and you put it on a plate with mustard, potatoes, and a hot dog. And you basically eat it all together. No joke, it's literally like my comfort food! Lol
Thank you for voicing the health check bit. I have a family history of all sorts of over and underactive thyroid, and people really don't know how much that's messing with your whole equilibrium when it goes off the rails. ❤
The outfit changes back and forth... sweater, shirt, sweater, shirt and pillows gone, pillows back, pillows gone, pillows back made the video so much funnier lol
I’ve been on a lot of diets since I was a kid. Now that I’m old I’d have to say, every diet works at first. The reason most people stop is because it’s not sustainable with real life. Diets should only be for a couple days and not for those with a history of an eating disorder. Stop trying these diets and see a therapist and a nutritionist to repair your relationship with food. People get mad when people promote their eating disorders is because, unlike depression and other mental disorders, eating disorders and body dysmorphia are contagious. Imo it’s an epidemic. I do want to try mustard and cottage cheese just because you said it was good.
Seems like it could actually work. If you put it on everything then it'll make you hate food.

You’re videos are always chill and unopposed, it’s not fair that you get hate

I definitely WAS skinny but certainly not healthy.
Still like mustard. I just put it on regular things now though lol

People always talk about who their favorite UA-camr is, and for some reason I always forget I have one. It’s obviously Jaime, she’s amazing
I'm always amazed at how people can make the most mundane things freaky or unsettling. Good job, TikTok!
Well said. Reminds me of the flavored water debacle.
As an "old", I can't help but be annoyed (which is why I don't have tiktok). Sooo many viral videos are posted by ppl who act like they're the first person who's ever thought to freeze water into cubes overnight to make your drinks cold the next day 🙄

You give all the facts and are not quick to judge. Love your content!

Also that news segment was way too relatable. I woke my husband up from laughing.
@@nachgeben yea that particular statement irked me as well

@@traderLeah is this sarcasm?
Honestly don't think tiktok has to do with this. People were doing this about the cayenne pepper Beyonce diet years ago.
That all liquid diet before gastric surgery is no joke, but for real I wouldn't recommend it unless someone has been directed to do so by a doctor!
I love your voice. Like, just your normal talking sound.😄 It's so soothing. More singing videos, please!!!
I did strict carnivore for three months and lost maybe 15 pounds wasn’t worth it for me. I have thyroid too
SAME! I've had hashimoto's hypothyroid for the last 25 years. they say you shouldn't eat less than 1,200 calories per day, but I need to eat around 800 calories a day to be able to lose weight.
The fake news interview you did was everything. Thank you 😂❤
I was having a crappy morning and your video brightened it up for me!
I did the diet again a few years ago 😂
So I never did a soup diet but my mom made soup at least once a week for dinner. I don’t think people eating broth is sound but soup with protein (chicken, beef, pork, fish, tofu), grain/noodles, and a variety of vegetables is pretty well balanced in terms nutrients. Lol soup is still one of my favorite meals because it’s so comforting to me and versatile.
Now you just have people like Paltrow out here promoting her bone broth diet 🙄

As someone currently on a highly restrictive diet (placed on it by my doctor for the next six weeks) to try and control some medical issues, it can be down right uncomfy to eat in front of others. All I get is side eye for whatever I am eating and I can feel the "E.D., you think?", stares happening.
Meanwhile, when I go to the Dr, I feel like they believe that I overeat 🙃
When I actually don't, I just have PCOS and my body hates me with a multitude of problems 😆 They preach calorie restriction as if I'm sitting here binge eating 🤦♀️

Hahaha just commented the same thing, I’m pretty sure she lost baby weight from keto

I had assumed a banana diet would mean you can eat as many bananas as you want
there was a huge kerfuffle in the vegan community about the banana diet. the drama was intense. Apparently some people got really sick.
