    The spinning back part is for safety reasons. These connectors have to be twisted for plugging and unplugging, and you will do this a lot. So Neutrik added the spinning part for preveting from accidentally unscrewing the back part while normal use.
    And yeah, also utility knife user here. For everything! I just learned it that way so many years ago, never changed :D

    thanks for the video. I want to point out that the recommended tool is that metal horseshoe thing Neutrik HTLACB, without that thing can't really properly tighten the new powercon style fxx connectors.

    The spinng part is due to new regulations, that nobody can open the plug while use, without any special tool. (That's why the speakon plug also changed)
