exhaust gas recirculation valve or egr valve as we know it. It is used to send burned gases bact to engine to reburn them and reduce NOx emissions from your exhaust but that tehnology has more cons than pros so when EGR valve go bad you car will have reduced power etc. so simplest thing to do is to blind it like in video and later turn it off in your ECU. What i said is not 100% correct but its simplified version if you want to know more just google it.
@@joesaric1 yes, after your engine only breaths air... no cooled exhaust inside your engine. You will have better power in lower rev. Only thing is your engine takes longer to get warm.
Personally I found this ínstructional'video very disappointing and useful for the wrong reasons, how not to do it. How many times do you try to remove the valve whilst it is still bolted on, or use the wrong socket? Why is there no protective sheet over the car when you start? Why are bolts removed haphazardly and deposited in random parts of the bay? I heard no warnings about dropping bolts, gaskets etc. when removing parts. Maybe it got better towards the end but I gave up after 5 minutes and will never know.
Great that you're putting this out, but it would be even better if you were talking us through what you're doing and what the mod is about.

What does he squirt into the holes when he detatches the EGR? First car here.
It's probably a solvent to clean the air intake, but that's not usually how you'd use it... the lack of description makes it hard to know :(
Hi, did you cut throttle body vacuum?
Nice video, where is the part 2? :)
Episode 2 ??
you didnt closed it full
you really need to cover that battery
6 years later, still no part 2... :)
Why is the hole in the middle of blank plate ?
To have a minimal gas flow so that no engine management light comes on, therefore no ecu software modification is needed.
that is clever. Is it worth to blank it on my Bravo 2.0 Mjet 165 ps ?
having any hole defeats the objective
@@Brendonsanya this solution has no effect. your engine still eating exhaust ..close it with a real blank plate and progg out of your CM.

And them...P404
yes on 16 valve models
What about 8v
@@martaliptak 8v too
@@SuperAntibobos No errors on mine 😁

Get a life
Half the vid takin bolts out!
Awful video , I’d like to punch him in the face
Thats not even a proper blank plate...
yes i was thinking the same thing. he shuould put plate without thre holes and closed it full
Annoying music tho
