@@jayus2033 they're fine and serve a specific purpose. I think these should be more widespread, could solve alot of issues in densely populated areas. Fires and flooding are problematic no matter what kind of building you're in, I think they should simply have a locking, sealed window in each room to give residents more exit routes; but as the world population grows, capsule hotels and vertical housing are going to be much more necessary. I stayed in a capsule once and it was honestly really cozy despite the size, the lighting helps calm you a lot if you're claustrophobic.
@10:44 You're supposed to tip the bellman. When you stiff the bellman, you miss out on all the cool things that the hotel offers, like a shuttle, or breakfast, or concierge, or complimentary drinks, or dinner... Always tip the bellman.
@@robtall5537 Yeah, I felt a bit irritated that not only he never tip, he bargained real hard on hard working people on everything. Sometimes his prices were so out of touch to the point of being ridiculous, and those poor locals, since they usually don't speak English that well, left standing there speechless. Actually we Asians, Japanese, Thais, Vietnamese, Philippines, Singaporeans, Malaysians, ... are very good tippers, comparing to others, ( I'm not sure about Chinese. @@masomrandom3763 ,no it's not. The doors are breakaway in the event of an emergency. You can easily kick them out. But they don't break in so your stuff is safe. There is fire alarms, fire extinguishers and each capsule has fire rated sheetrock between them. These are as safe as your home. Also each pod has a fresh air in-take so in the event that the building caught on fire you would probably be safer in that pod then if You were not in it. It would probably keep you alive until the fire department got there. Then again maybe not in that traffic lol

Maybe because there the services provided are limited & some necessary amenities aren't available like there is no private bathrooms nor room service & there are many other things which are necessary to make it for a 5 star experience. I have been to two 5 star hotels in Mumbai & their ambiance and the huge infrastructure make you feel good. This hotel is just a new modern hotel with good visual light effects but it is very cramped(not talking about the room but the whole hotel corridors, reception & the pool) for a five star experience
@@converse201996 just watch any 5 star hotel review /vlog of a hotel where you live you will see the difference. There are some international standards for hotels which determines the rating of the hotel based on the services the hotel provides

Was it just as good? I'm flying out in a few weeks and I have a few days in Saigon and thinking about paying for this than the paid company hotel room I was gonna be offered.
you know apart from the major photophobia and claustrophobia i'm gonna get from staying here. The cheap price and insane quality makes this hotel an easy 4 stars. when i heard it's 3 stars... I was so confused.. but the guy was very proud of his job and he looks like a very cheerful guy for a hotel staff.
I think he meant 3 stories. Bc the previous conversation was about how big the hotel was and knowing their English is not the best but it’s enough to communicate the simple things.
I always find his arrival video weirdly comforting. Nothing like the feeling of traveling for hours then finally getting to relax and explore the hotel. By the way I would kill for that rooftop bar. In any US city that would cost the hotel price just to enter.
A horror movie where everyone in one of these hotels gets locked into their capsule, and follows each individuals descent into madness and eventually starvation
It’s definitely cool looking. Much nicer and cleaner than hotels that run 4x higher. I would love to experience it. The price is awesome for sure. But in some ways it’s slightly creepy. What happens if there is some type of glitch that ends up trapping people inside that box, maybe even without any light. I mean, it’s honestly nothing more than a glorified coffin. I didn’t see any emergency exits from them. There isn’t even a window to get out of. But I read a story about how this is the future of housing. They want to erect capsule apt. buildings and market them as affordable living. On one hand I think it’s a great idea. But there is something about the idea of a building full of people in boxes that creeps me out.
Amazing. Love these videos. While it may be true in some cases (they try hustling you with prices), I hate when people go to other countries and expect to bargain for everything and not pay the price when in reality a lot of us waste money on meaningless things every day. I almost feel like for some people it becomes a game of "how low can I get it for." $5 might not mean much to us (maybe a tip at a restaurant or some bread) but to some $5 is a game changer. Don't get railed by prices and scams, but also be mindful and don't take advantage of the fact that you know that's possibly their only source of income.
I cannot thumbs up this enough. I mean, a Starbucks coffee costs more than that and oft times people drink it more than once a day. It's freakin' ridiculous this mentality.
Hk 4lyfe are u special needs? Overpopulation isn’t an issue of space, its an issue of lack of food, clean drinking water and/or necessary resources for humans.
@sabage cabage123 thats not really the case, its not the less room we take up its more the lad that we are taking up, because only certain land can be farmed on depending on the nutrients there, climate etc. the entire population could all fit in texas comfortably.
Basically, that's Vietnam for you. The price/quality ratio is exceptional compared to western standards. For $25 you'll be treated as if you were a king. You're (probably) not a king though, so don't be a jerk. Bare in mind that the Vietnamese are EXTREMELY friendly and hospitable by nature. Even if you are 'that' kind of person , the people of Vietnam will provide you with more respect than you think you deserve. Expect to depart Vietnam with intense feelings of... just wanting to stay there! Personally, its been about half a year since I were there, and thinking about it... I can't wait to return. Words can not describe how much this experience has influences my life. At the start of this journey I was so depressed I didn't even see the point of it all. Yet I traveled there against all willingness, and never have I been more happy about a doubtful choice. ! So yeah... Even if you weren't planning to go there, I hope someone else reads this and takes Vietnam into consideration. What a beautiful country it is!
@Luke wilson In Vietnam, the quality the local Vietnamese people expect out of a three stars hotel in the country is extremely different from what we expect from a 3 stars hotel elsewhere. With the cutthroat competition due to over-abundance of accommodation services and word of mouth contributing considerably to the survival of a hotel, the hotels have to uphold to the people' standard to stay in the game. On top of new buildings for more recent hotels and extras from cheap labour poured into development, it means much better room quality (in general, there are always bad apples) and services. However, the more you go up from 3 stars, the higher is the price for the incremental increases in quality. Four stars hotels are amazing, but five stars hotel are kinda the cookie-cutter style of Western hotels with meh quality and service for the price from a Vietnamese perspective.
The amount of stars a hotel has has nothing to do with it's quality. It's a number that represents the services offered by the hotel. 5 star hotels aren't necessarily hotels that are luxurious (even though they usually are), but rather hotels that offer a lot of services, such as a gym or other extra stuff like that. Source : I'm a chef currently working for a 5 star hotel.
its true that some market sellers or cop taking advantage of foreigner to charge them extra money in everything but overall not everything that bad ~ you can do some research or asking local people for information about it and u'll be fine ~

They should make them bigger
@@jayus2033 they're fine and serve a specific purpose. I think these should be more widespread, could solve alot of issues in densely populated areas. Fires and flooding are problematic no matter what kind of building you're in, I think they should simply have a locking, sealed window in each room to give residents more exit routes; but as the world population grows, capsule hotels and vertical housing are going to be much more necessary. I stayed in a capsule once and it was honestly really cozy despite the size, the lighting helps calm you a lot if you're claustrophobic.

Can't imagine what a 5 star capsule hotel looks in comparison to that. How was that one 3 star?
Maybe because there the services provided are limited & some necessary amenities aren't available like there is no private bathrooms nor room service & there are many other things which are necessary to make it for a 5 star experience. I have been to two 5 star hotels in Mumbai & their ambiance and the huge infrastructure make you feel good.

I see where you’re coming from, but I think of it more so getting taken advantage of because we don’t know any better.
I cannot thumbs up this enough. I mean, a Starbucks coffee costs more than that and oft times people drink it more than once a day. It's freakin' ridiculous this mentality.

How on earth is that 3 star. The restaurant is stunning with the view. Everything is clean and the overall aesthetic is very posh for $25
Luke wilson I believe that means it’s good in their culture
This sounds great for $25 and other was $18 daamn!
