This is the third time I have watched this video. It still blows my mind. That is a nice gun. It shoots a few loads in that benchrest group range. You nailed this one.
Thanks, I love the rifle too! Always enjoy shooting it!
Your edits are fantastic. Thanks for the time you spend on the content.
Those are some really outstanding results brother. Always a pleasure to watch and see all the fine minuet details. 👍
Good to hear from you Kenny, thanks bro!

@@Ultimatereloader love to here what you think about this article to Gavin.
I'm such a novice at reloading in that I haven't even purchased everything to reload but I'm reading, studying and watching videos from individual like yourself and all I can say is WOW. What you put into this project is phenomenal. Your results and attention to detail is amazing. Keep bring out these videos. Thank You
Don't expect to get 'all of your reloading gear' all at once...you accumulate it over time...I bought an RCBS Rockchucker press in 72 from the post Rod & Gun Club in Germany...I started teloading when I got home in"74...took me the next 40 years to accumulate all my 'dtuff'...dies, presses, etc...this hobby is time consuming..you simply have to Love fiddling around with case prep, load development etc...try to find used equipment...most of the stuff is hardly used...guys buy stuff nut lose interest and wives tell them to sell it...get a bunch of reloading manuals and a good balance beam scale...I still have the one I bought in '02...the gold standard...
The biggest and best thing you can do. Is set a goal, stick to it and do not move on until you complete that goal
What goals are you referring to?
Actions speak loud and clear. You painted a great picture of all the single stage presses you have but the table fixture on that forster is growing roots on your bench. So the best one to start with for reloading towards ELR. Because damn that's a tight group.
That is utterly ridiculous. Just the precision of that 6mm is awesome and really appreciate the time, effort, and knowledge conveyed in this video.
Production and editing is on point. Loving the content
THANK YOU! It's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much work, great to have people appreciate the editing!
gavintoobe learned so much watching do builds, and a scientific approach to the reloading process. Really inspiring man. Would love to do builds like you do
That is one of the most impressive reloading videos I have ever seen. Congratulations on that load development. WOW!
Thanks 👍
You ve got a winner. There isn't t a lot out there that will shoot that good
Thanks Michael!
Absolutely awesome rifle build and accuracy Gavin . I can’t wait to see how it shoots at 600 and 1000 yards .
Wow Gavin! Congrats. I am really looking forward to the next video. Keep the coming thanks.
Phenomenal results with a very measured approach. I look forward to seeing data collected from the 600 and 1000 yard tests. Wonderfully instructive and well done! Carry on! 😀
Thank you!
You are the King of this business!!
Happy to see the 6 dasher worked out for you
Awesome results Gavin! I'm glad you finally got it dialed in 👍 That rifle is Sweet 😍
THANKS!!! I love this rifle.
My friend you are an scientist on reloading bullets thank you for sharing this excellent video
You are too kind, thanks for watching!
Your 6dasher series couldn’t come at a better time. Got a dasher spinning up right now.
outstanding testing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow. Gavin you made an amazingly accurate rifle and ammo combination. Piet must be chomping for his Dasher to get to him!!!
Yes, I know he is!
I can tell by the sound of the action that it is super smooth. That is one super accurate rifle. Another success and you make it look so easy!
Man that’s an awesome shooter! I kinda expected it given the care you put into all aspects of the build and reloading. I’m SUPER stoked to see the long range results. Bravo!
Ive been looking at 6 dasher for a while and this vid convinced me,,,great vid and shooting.
get a good barrel first then dasher..I recommend a brux 4 gr 28 inch or more..with the right freebore and throat angle
Awesome job. Love the way you developed your load and the way you explained it
Amazing 👏 results. The effort gets rewarded!
Man that is an amazing firearm!! Watching the bolt cycle with that much ease is awesome. And I can only imagine the gratification from getting results like that on something you built yourself. I can’t wait to see your long distance results. Nice work Gavin
First I would like to thank you for sharing all of your knowledge with us and secondly that was some great shooting brother
My gunsmith built me a 6 dasher. Did a "ladder test" and shot near .3 moa group. Impressive cartridge.
Great material. Can't wait till the long range info comes out.
Those standard deviations are incredible!
Great video as usual. Thx. Also interested to see you do 6gt
I just can't wait to see the long range shooting videos. Don't be afraid to do some talking when you're on the range shooting! This series makes me want to spend money.
I been waiting for this one Gavin! 😁
And here it is!!!!
Extraordinary! I would for one like to see what the groups look like at distance. Thank you for the video.
Your videos are always to the scientific point. I love that. Great info and looks like you built a keeper there. FYI I'm working up a load for 6.5 PRC in a carbon fiber wrapped barrel. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanx
Great video. I would love to see follow up with once fired brass and if you find the need to adjust charge weight all. Another thing would be to start tracking throat erosion (borescope images) vs round count and if/when you need to start chasing the lands.
Great video! I love my dasher. My load is 32.7gr over the 105 berger. Looks like your gun liked that as well with great sd's.
I'm amazed. Great job with the build and load development.
Very nice shooting. Rifle looks awesome.
People come up with new concepts in reloading and most of them are worth a try. What you've shown here with the 10 shot ladders seems to have some merit and looks worthwhile.
To help your targets not get beat up by plywood backing what I’ve learned is to use a piece of cardboard between it and the paper target
Wow, great video and a beautiful rifle. I’m building a dasher now and can make good use of this information for load development.
Thank you! I hope your build goes really well!
I used to shoot 32.5 grains of Varget with 105 Berger vld-target bullets out of my dasher. I shot a few 5 shot groups in the zeros with it and hardly ever seen a group over .2 unless I messed up. That rifle was a tack driver.
Way to stack them in there, Gavin 👍
I appreciate what you are accomplishing. Anytime you would like to go head to head with an old CZ 452 17 hmr ,100 yds 5 shots in WV Give a holler.
Great stuff! Thanks.
Nice work! Sure looks like a sweet shooter!
I really like the selection of reloading tools that you used. Thank you so much for making this video. I will donate to your patreon account the end of this week.
Impressive results, look forward to your testing at 1000 yards!
Gavin I would love to see you do a video on the 6GT round George Gardner came up with. Its supposed to be like the dasher but feed better from the magazine.
My work buddy just mention the 6GT..It would be great if you could do a vid on that. Appreciate your channel. Saves everyone a heck of lot of time. Greatly appreciated.
That Berger 105gr shooting was crazy accurate at a .090 moa. Wow!
Great Start!!!❤️🤍💙
Hey Gavin, try shooting without using your glasses. I have seen them change the zero on the scope a bit. It is another optic in the path. It won't change it much, but it will make a tight group into a medium group.
Gavin I would love to see you do more of these super detailed load work-up videos like this but in other cartridges with various powders and components.
Good video. I don't shoot 6 dasher, but I do reload. The equipment evaluation was important for me.
Great shooting
Great stuff, looking forward to see your next vid. Keep up your great work :)
Gavin, excellent video, and excellent results. I have a new dasher myself, really enjoying it. You have found the same nodes I have with the same bullets. I have found the choice between the 105's and 109's to be a difficult one. I shoot F-class Mid-range (600 yards). Extensive testing has shown the 105's are slightly better in ES and SD BUT,,, the 109's have a much better water line at 600 yards, (20 shot groups) I shoot on a private range with a Shot Marker for practice. The scoring is about equal between the two bullets, depending on how I am shooting, either can score better on a given day. I will probably settle on the 109's due to the water line aspect as well as ballistics advantage at 600 yards.
Now for the criticism, You seem to want to be all things reloading to all people, I can understand that. BUT, that negates follow-up on projects already released. This video was released over 4 months ago, you have released nearly 40 video's since then, none of which were the promised follow up on the dasher long range testing. This seems to negate your stated enthusiasm of the dasher build, and has a negative affect on followers who look forward to completion of your projects. I can definitely wait on evaluation of dies and case prep tools and rangefinders to see your final results on the dasher, or are you now into the ARC?
Just one mans opinion.
Great job!
Gavin,
Great results! Just something to think about, brass is very critical to accuracy, grab a small bath mat to place on your bench so that brass isn’t bouncing on concrete!
Andy
Well 6 Dasher has about 25% less case volume compared to 6.5 Creedmoor so your barrel will shoot better for longer. Also your loads have excellent avg velocities. The grouping is excellent at .21. you have a winning combo here. The big test is taking it at and beyond 1000yrds. It will be interesting to see what that cartridge will do with a heavier bullet and your loads for distance. As always thank you for the great videos!
You are living my dream.
Gavin, love the 6 Dasher! My first were are you getting Varget every place I go they are out! I have not found it since last year. I've been think of building a 6 Dasher for some time. Now I just may have to step it up! love the videos!!!!!!
Was going to say the same thing about Varget. He must have been stockpiling....
Looks very similar to what I found with the 105’s, I’m waiting to see what happens on the second firing of the brass with two weeks to dial everything in before a match in two weeks
Finally, SWEET!!!
Very impressive!
Love it when a plan comes together lol.
Taking me back to my childhood! :)
Well done
Hi Gavin , some great results there with the Dasher , you’ve done a great job with the rifle build looking forward to more , I also wanted to say and with the upmost respect with the chronoGraph reading time at 21.28min I don’t know if you realised the FPS showed a difference of 22fps and the Standard deviation was 8.1 you can change that setting in the magneto menu to read in FPS or SD , sorry just wanted to point that out but still great results none the less 👍👍
Great content great info.
Winner winner chicken dinner. I learned a lot. Thanks.
Great Series on 6mm D, the results are fantastic. Maybe the manufacturers take notice and produce a budget rifle on this cartridge (Savage, Ruger, etc.). Looking forward to the next installment. One last thing, get a Labradar, although the numbers (fps) are the same as the MS(I tested), not having any interference with the barrel or adjusting after a shot makes it worth every penny. IMHO.
Gavin great video. I've been shooting Dasher at Ridgway Rifle Club matches for a couple years now and it’s a great round. You may want to try CCI 450 primers. We run 32.8g of Varget and 450's hold up better with the higher load no flattening or piercing. BR-4 would give us a larger ES. I don't know that much about PRS if you reuse your brass. But in Benchrest our brass is very precious to us. If you can keep your brass try leaving the carbon in the neck. It acts as a lube and make for a more consistent bullet release. ie. lower ES. Can't wait to see what kind of groups you get at long range. We only shoot silhouettes so I've never put mine on paper at range.
Forster dies are very very good dies and affordable and very over looked. just for fun try Fed 205M head to head with the CCI primers every time i have had the Fed primers come out on top for accuracy. also you may want to try some 115 DTAC bullets in the Dasher and see how they do. start at around 35 gr of H-4350 powder you'll be surprised how fast you can safely push them, the 115 bullets offer a distinct advantage over the 105s in the wind and should stabilize in a 1-8 twist barrel and they are a real bargain price wise as compared to other bullets.
Nice one mate love watching your videos
2950 is pretty hot for dasher. Most guys are either running around a 2750ish or 2850ish node. Moderate speed avoids pressure in hot or wet conditions
Good work.
You are living my dream. 6 dashed 👍 42 years loading on and off. I'm slowly working on a savage 10t. 6 creedmore. I have broke in barrel, Polished bore, fire formed lapua cases 8 twist
I purchased 107gr. Midway blend. I found 1-2 gr. Weight variation. Do you think I would be wasting my time developing loads with them. Or should I just use them for plinking? How have you determined twist to weight choice for bullets? Have you actually tested to find your rifles fit for accuracy?
Love your work! I have one comment. Look at where your right hand is when seating primers. You have a big note about eyes and ears but you hand is in a real bad spot. I know it is rare but primers do let loose on occasion. Keep up the great content.
You picked up and dropped the PRCs pretty quick
I probably missed this on one of your other videos but what is the twist rate in you barrel ?
I envy your progress. All though don't miss a quality annealing process.
i have a load i use in a 300 RUM that is remington brass, AR2225/retumbo powder, federal gold match large mag primers, hornady 208AMAX projectiles that are coated in HBN powder.
they gave two 5 shot strings shot 6 months apart with an extreme spread of 5 fps the powder was weighed out to 0.02 gr difference between rounds. the average speed was 3232 fps
Insane, keep up the great work 💪💪💪 I would be very interested to see the results on a LNL AP running full progressive, case feeder, bullet feeder priming and seating. The amount of ammo we shoot in a season is compared to time behind the bench is crazy. Keep up the great work 💪💪💪
DO notice a degrade in accuracy, or precision with the attachment of the V3 on the muzzle?
Can you measure barrel vibration when you fire rounds to improve accuracy?
when are you going to the video on bedding the scope rings?
I have shoot against dasher ,me using my target 300 win mag ..If it’s a still day I got no hope in the world ,,but if the wind picks up I got a good chance ..The dasher is a hell of a round 👍
Most excellent.
I'm glad you tried that node after all. I'm wondering about the unexplored node with the 109 grain bullets. I know you're looking more for a "flat spot," but I'm reminded of something I learned in an applied math class about stability of a dynamic system and that looks like a good spot. (Im not an experienced reloader so there's probably lots you know that I don't. But still, im curious!)
Outstanding shooting I would be ecstatic with the loads and the rifle! Have you posted what a custom rifle like that would cost to have built?
Great shooting! I've been thinking of getting a magnetospeed. Did you notice a POI shift when it was attached?
Did you had any feeding issues with the MDT Magazine? Planing a similar build and the reliability of this special MDT magazine is decisive for choosing THE caliber to go with.
Your 6 Dasher videos are making it really hard to not build a 6 Dasher lol
I live in Eastern washington...I'd love to come visit the shop some day.
Eastern Washington here also .
Love the video
Do you only use the mandrel on new brass? Great shooting by the way. That thing is a hammer.
Just something to consider if you are gonna work loads up for 600 and 1000 you may want to buy a LOT of bullets the go through the argious task of weighing each bullet with a scale that reads .01 this way segregated bullets can be developed differently but you can feel reasonably confident that all things considered you can hit that 1000 with minimal effort.
Bullet Seating ... remove spring ... improves concentricity ?
Thank you for this video. When you ran the shots over your chronograph then entered the data into your PC what program did you use to construct the graph? Have you done a video where you take your data and show how to analyze it? Great channel I'm learning so much from you.
