Hi everyone! I hope you enjoyed seeing what I got in my latest trip to the candle supply store! I am really trying to progress and start making as many candles as I can, as well as work on a website! I think I am going to start with etsy, only because I want to have a cheap website (in the this case nearly free) to be able to direct potential customers to. I have had friends reach out to me and ask how much my candles are and what scents I have. It will be so much easier directing them to a website than trying to remember all of my scents off the top of my head!
As always thank you so much for watching. You guys are awesome.
xoxo erica marie

Been making candles as a hobby for a few years and after lots of great feedback I've finally decided to start selling them. As such, I've been consuming a lot of videos and resources regarding launching a candle line. Thanks for the information! 🖤
That’s wonderful!! You are welcome :)
Good luck!
If you ever have any questions feel free to DM me on Instagram at any time ❤️
This is glorious, I have been researching "candle making supplies wax" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Peyaniel Psychological Predominance - (do a google search ) ? It is a great one of a kind product for discovering the trick to be a candle maker for profit without the headache. Ive heard some great things about it and my mate got cool results with it.
can you make a video on taking product pics? yours are amazing!!!
In the works! Thank you!! ☺️
For anyone on the East Coast, Aztec Candle Supply (TN) offers a matte black line of glass in Medium, Large and Extra Large, priced per dozen. You can choose from numerous types of lids, but lids are priced per dozen. Aztec ships quickly and I’ve never received broken glass, as I have with Candle Science which is located even closer to my state. I checked Cal Candle Supply however the shipping cost was prohibitive......almost equal to the cost of the containers! That’s a hard “no” for me. I wanted to put this info out there for those who loved the look of the matte black container and a light wood lid. Thank you for this video, Ladybug! I’ve found every one to be very beneficial for me. I agree wholeheartedly about wick placement. Commercial candles don’t have perfect wick placement either, so I’m not stressing if it ends up a little off center. I wipe out all my jars with alcohol before using as well. I don’t use dye at all because I add other elements to my candles. All love to everyone, in oneness 🙏🏻💗🕊
It’s always best to check the shipping prices on each suppliers website and see which one is going to be the cheapest for you! This is good information about the jars! Thank you for watching ☺️
Thank you, this is what I was looking for.
Your the reason, I had the gutts, to try and make my 1st candle. Now I'm starting my own business. Thank You so much for your videos.
Aw that’s incredible! Congrats!! ☺️
@@MemoryBoxCandleCo Thank You so much
Thank you for sharing your journey. I am in the process of starting a candle business in the UK. People don't realise how much testing goes into it. I'm enjoying it so far. I'm using beeswax and it's not as easy to work with. Thank you for being honest and sharing your ups and downs. I wish you the best of luck with your business 😊
Thank you so much Emily :) I wish you luck with your business!
You give me some much hope. I'm ready for my new journey. I love candles. Thanks sending love 💌
Your videos are amazing and super informative! I can see how much energy you're putting into these videos, just take a breathe and try to not overthink it too much :)
Thank you so much!
I'm looking for these jars in a matte black 16 oz any suggestions
Love your video. Good information shared for those that are just getting started. Thanks for sharing.
I’m so glad it was helpful, thanks for watching :)
From Chile, you are so inspiring! Love your job!
Hey u r doing so well..ur videos are very helpful n I love to watch it ☺️
Thank you so much! ☺️
Love your videos. Thanks
pick a simple piece of round wood inner diameter of to pot and drill hole in center slip wick inside and lower wood in pot press and let wood fall out.
Maybe make some tiny small candles , you can sell them to people to test for larger ones. or give them a sample.
Very nice, we can suppor the jars samples.
I am just starting out on looking into making candles. I was curious what made you decide to use the dye chips over a liquid dye? Thanks for the information on your channel, it has been so helpful.
It was just what I initially started with. I actually think liquid might be better. (Now I’ve gone dye-free)
Thanks so much for sharing. Really like your new choice in jars, indeed a luxury brand. I've researched on a more upscale jar as well but as you stated the shipping alone isn't feasible for some starting out....One would think that residing in The Big Apple, purchasing locally wouldn't be an issue. No such luck..Nevertheless I plan on utilizing Amazon Prime as a main source for the time being. My question is please. Where do you purchase your scents from? Also why did you decide on that type of soy wax.Thanks..
Yeah it can be difficult purchasing jars online when you have to include shipping :/
I usually order my scents from Aztec candles, the flaming candle and California candle supply. I absolutely love my wax because it has never given me any problems with sink holes, it burns clean all the way down, and it gives a nice HT and CT. I’ve never tried any other wax before because I love it so much!
Do you use 2 wicks now? And what size plz:) also what's better the one wick or 2?
Use a metal ice cream scoop - the solid thick metal types!
Oh wow that’s a great idea!
@@MemoryBoxCandleCo I use a metal bench scraper to cut my slabs.
Hi there! I absolutely love your videos - they are super helpful. How do you keep track of your inventory? Do you have a specific method?
For right now my inventory is very small, but I’m sure I will come up with a good method once I start growing :) so I’ll be learning a long the way!
Love candles
Me too :)
I live in Irvine, what candle supply store do you go to? I found one in Glendora, is that the one?
I purchase my candle supplies from the same company :) I use the nature wax c3. The flakes are so much more user friendly. I use the 10oz jar with an ECO 10, I can fit a little over 8oz of wax into it. My candles are usually closer to 8.5. I don't have any issues closing the lid. Where do you get your cotter pins from?
I am so glad that I stumbled across your channel ^_^ good luck with everything!
I’ve always wanted to try c3!
That’s good to know about the lid! Maybe I should add more wax to mine 🤔
I get my cotter pins from California candle supply! Thank you☺️
Where do you guys buy your jars from
This may be a dumb question... buuuut how do feel about hot gluing wicks to your jars? Have you ever tried it? Also, have you ever experimented with wood wicks?
Not a dumb question!
I started off hot gluing them down when I first start making candles. Then I switched to red rtv glue and then I finally settled on the wick stickers because I like them the best!
I’ve heard of people saying their wicks move when using hot glue, but then again everyone has different experiences.
And no I actually haven’t ever experimented with wood lids but I would love to!
Hi, I love your videos, they have helped me tremendously on getting my business ready to launch! I am still in the testing fase, finding the proper wick size for vessel diameter has been challenging. I tries a sample pack of wooden wicks and they were harder it seems. ANyway....my question is EVERYBODY is out of stock on Vessels. I really like the white Matte with wooden cover. I live in Maine and we do not have any wholesale suppliers, so I have to order online. Do you come across this issue and what do you do?
Do you get a better right off if you pop your inventory in a video as well as use them for production?
Hey I love watching your videos! I’m interested in getting into the candle making hobby. Do you prefer candle science starter kit or the California coconut kit? Also can you tell me which is better coconut or soy? Thanks girl ❤️
Thank you! ❤️☺️
I actually haven’t tried either! I base these off of the positives and negatives I hear from the candle Facebook group I’m apart of, but I’m wanting to start making review videos where I review starter kits from different companies :)
I’ve only ever used soy 10 but if I were to choose a different wax to try out it would be the coconut 83 ❤️
This was great, I have been researching "bag of candle wax and wicks" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Cenadoelyn Candle Contemplation - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my partner got great results with it.
where did you get that black jars from
Do you really need a scale and thermometer for making candles for your home out of coconut wax ? Also is coconut was much better than biz wax ? What is thee difference ?
Yes! You have to be able to weigh out your supplies to get the science right. Coconut is more versatile, beeswax is harder to work with. They’re just completely different waxes! Just like how paraffin and soy are different, made up of different things :)
Any ideas on where I can get candle supplies in Africa (Nigeria to be precise)
Hi Erica, your videos are extremely helpful and a great resource for those of us just starting out. Can I ask what your opinions are on Cal Candle’s tart wax tw-30? Do you think it creates a superior melt? I’ve been testing melts and disappointed with the results. Not sure if it’s the wax, FO, or my room size! Wanting to try another wax, but wanted some opinions before taking the plunge and ordering/paying for shipping on Carl’s tart wax.
Hi! Thank you so much for watching :)
That is the tart wax I use! It is absolutely wonderful, I highly recommend it! I use about 15% FO and it gives wonderful throw in a melter, I’ve gotten really great feedback on it.
Good to know! Glad I asked. It is a soy wax so is there an extended cure time? I see that it can hold 18% FO and that’s very appealing to me as I’m looking for quality and superior throw to provide to my customers. About how long do you think each cube lasts for?
Oh that’s a great question! I can say though that I don’t have an answer for that as that’s something I have not personally tested all the way through with the melts.
However the feedback from some of my first customers have said that two cubes last way longer than what they’re used to with typical melts that they usually get from other businesses (so I took that as a compliment!)
The good thing is that they come in 10lb slabs for you try out, but I don’t think you will be disappointment! The cold and hot throw is wonderful (even with only doing 15%)
Oh and I don’t think there is really an extended cure time needed with these! I would say 3 days and it’s good to go!
where do you get your fragrance oils????
Extremely helpful video
I’m so glad! Thank you for watching :)
Where do you get your vessels?
Do you have any experience with wooden wicks? Could you talk about them vs regular wicks?
I don’t actually, I ordered a candle kit from wooden wick and that will be my first experience with wood wicks!
@@MemoryBoxCandleCo Can you make a video experimenting with wooden wicks?
Yes I am going to make a video reviewing the kit!
God bless your channel and your business
Where you buy the jars?
Hey! Great video 🥰 I’m wondering, when trying and testing 1oz oils, do you necessarily need to make a candle to determine if you like the scent or not... or can you tell just from sniffing directly out of the bottle? Not sure if the wax affects how you may like the scent or not - thanks!
Hi! I'm not sure if you're still looking for the answer to this but you don't have to test out the fragrances if you don't want to but I've noticed that sometimes there are scents that I do like in the bottle that I don't like when they are burning in a candle and sometimes there are scents I don't like in the bottle that I love in a candle. You don't have to test them if you don't want but I just like to because you can get a better idea of the scent once it's actually put into a candle and burning. So I would suggest to test them, but it doesn't have to be done. :)
Hi Erica! I wanted to ask.. do you know the difference between Soy 10 wax and GW 464 wax? I bought 464.. I hope it works as well as yours does!
So I was wondering what the difference is, in the 464 flakes and the Soy # 10 that you use?
can you make a vid of bying frome a small candls bisnis
WHERE do you get your fragrance - I am not having luck with what I bought thanks
Candlescience, calcandlesupply, the flaming candle and aztec
How many grams of dye chips do you use per gram of wax? Is it different for each tart? Also, I was wondering how many oz/grams of wax fit in each of your wax melt packages? Thank you!
Then can vary a lot! I get my dye chips from California candle supply. It depends on how dark you want the color. You can also get a lot of dots that settle at the bottom of the tart if you add too much dye. I usually like to do 1 dye chip per 9 tarts. Each dye chip holds 72 g of wax. So I would use 648 g of liquid (total wax and FO together) with 1 dye chip. You can play around with it though and see how dark or light you want the color, there’s no perfect formula to go off of :)
Thank God for you videos!
I’m glad you like them! :)
Thank you
Hi hi, do u sell candle making kits? Not sure if I'm looking properly on ur etsy.
I just purchased the 10oz jars from there also. I wanted to double wick these jars so I used 2 Eco 10 on a few candles. It burned was ok I thought. Do you think that'd be to much on one candle. Bc I have a whole bag of those. Do you think one Eco 10 will work. Please respond soon.
I would not recommend to double wick these jars. Two eco 10s would be wayyy too big. I would try one eco 10 or one eco 12 (also it depends on the kind of wax you’re using as well)
Mine are 10oz Black Glass Tumbler. Same diameter as yours
Then yes try the eco 10s or eco 12s
Awesome video
I’ve been trying to find jars like that that are in stock. I can’t find any :( does anyone know ?
Same here! Like omg
Ali Express or DH Gate worth the wait
The only place I saw them so far was DH Gate & Ali Express but I was skeptical about ordering but I think I will try.
@@chimodel4u I like them a lot, if you can wait the time, it’s worth it. If your buying in large amounts go to Alibaba.com, better deals and negotiate with them, don’t take the price listed, negotiate with quite a few too, not just one 😊
wooden wick co!!!!
Very nice video!
Where do you buy from?
thanks for all your information. could you tell me where you buy all your product to make the candles y melts wax, thank you
Cal candle supply, candlescience, the flaming candle :)
Hello Erica. Does your candles burn even?
Hi! I also got soy 10 wax recently and it isn’t performing as well as I thought it would (?) the hot and cold scent throw aren’t as great, so I just wanted to ask how your experience is with them? How much percentage do you use for your FO? Thanks in advance!
Hi! I’ve had overall a really great experience with soy 10 but I’ve found that the FO quality makes all the difference! I’ve gotten really poor hot throw and really incredible hot throw and realized it is from the FO more than the wax. I use 10.2% FO :)
Sweet Girl Seller thanks! I was thinking that too, maybe it is my FO and maybe they are bad quality, but for example I have a hot chocolate one from nature’s garden and I made candles in a tin with 464 wax and they turned out nicely but with the soy 10, I couldn’t smell anything at all. The cold throw was nice and that was about it. What temp do you mix the FO in? I do mine at 180 but I have also tried 150. No luck :/ Also last thing, how are you liking the tart wax? The guy at cal candle said it can hold up to 18% (!!!) but isn’t that a little excessive? LOL how much % do you end up using for that one? It seems so crazy to me to be putting up to 18 in your tarts. Thanks :)
Have you experimented with any of FO’s? Or just that one?
I know that different FO can perform poorly in one wax and do well in another. I would test a bunch of different FO!
I mix the fragrance in at about 160-170.
I absolutely love the tart wax!! I don’t do the max load, I do just under 15% and it’s been working really lovely! It’s great wax :)
Sweet Girl Seller ive tried cali coffee house from calcandle as well, same thing :// cal candle’s FO’s smell really good out of the bottle so I hope it’s just the wax and that the FOs aren’t duds. I’ll test some more because you’re def right - there’s so many wax and fo combinations. Hope it works out next time I make some lol. All this testing can be so time consuming and exhausting sometimes especially since I work too lol idk how you do it! Thanks for the help!! Do you have a website or an Etsy store yet? I was looking for a link but couldn’t find any hehe
Oh yes Cali coffee house is extremely poor quality but it smells amazing out of the bottle!
I would try Jamaica me crazy or mimosa from CA candle supply if you want a good hot throw! :)
Yes you definitely have to make time to perfect your craft!
I’m actually in the process of creating my Etsy store and I’m hoping to have it up by the end of the month! I also have an IG @memoryboxcandleco if you would like to follow me there:)
Any tips on what kind of wax to use? I would like to have both a cold throw and hot throw with my candles. Do you get that with the soy wax? Whats the difference between soy and paraffin?
I would get samplers of a few difference waxes for you to test out! A lot of people have differing opinions on alllll different kinds of waxes. I get a good HT and CT with my wax, however I talked with someone a couple of days ago who said she wasn’t getting a good HT or CT with it. A lot of people use 464 and love it, others hate it. Soy and paraffin are just made up of different wax so they perform differently. Are you apart of the Facebook group? People discuss the pros and cons of all kinds of waxes!
Would you sell the fragrance oils you’re not using? I would love to try some of the scents out?
DM me on Instagram (@memoryboxcandleco) and we’ll discuss ☺️
Memory Box Candle Co i wish I would’ve seen this sooner :( I just placed a large order on candle science with different FO .

I get most of mine from California candle supply, candlescience, and the flaming candle :)
@@MemoryBoxCandleCo thank you so much! I'll give it a try!
are the "Candle Supply" chain store products made in the US? Do there labels for waxes and fragrances say where they are made? Im really wanting to try them out but wanting to have all products made in the US.
I’m not sure, I think it would probably vary from supplier to supplier. I would call and ask them to double check :)
How many grams are in a 10 ounce glass
Where do you get your scents ?
Candlescience, the flaming candle, Aztec, VA candle supply and Cal candle supply ☺️
Are we able to use crazy glue for the wic to stick down ?
I’ve never tried it, but I don’t hear people talk about it so I don’t think it’s recommended. You want to use something that can withstand the heat of a candle
I normally get my fragrances from Candlescience. May I ask where do you get yours?
I get them from California candle supply, Aztec candles and the flaming candle :)
