My tacoma is a 2018 4x4 sport it doesn't have a climate system, it has knobs, can I still install this radio unit? I loved it and want buy it now

I wanted the new xl for my Ram, but it doesn't have Sirius xm built in... Gonna have to wait and see if it's added in the future.
So for clarity sake. There is no aftermarket radio with SiriusXM built in. There are Aftermarket radios that are “SiriusXM Ready”, meaning the radio has been manufactured with the SiriusXM data port to be able to run a SiriusXM V300 tuner, which is sold separately.
The only way to get these ports is by going through the approval process with SiriusXm. This process takes anywhere from 12-48 months. We did this process with our Generation 5 radio. It took nearly 38 months to get through it. But we did it
The issue now due to the XL and Gen 6 receiving a newer processor, SiriusXM is required us to start the process all over again.
So we weren’t going to delay the release of the XL for years, and we aren’t really looking to spend the money to do the development to run the basic V300 tuner. If we go for SiriusXM Ready approval again for the new radios we will do it for SiriusXM 360, which is 100 times harder to work with then the original. So there is no real timeline or even guarantee the XL will ever be SiriusXM Ready.
For what it’s worth, the Gen 6 and XL both have a SIM Card option. With this you could run the SiriusXM App on the radio using data. The audio is much better as well there are more channels and features, but of course it does require that you have cell service.
But for now that is where we sit with SiriusXM.
@LinksWellInc Thanks for the info, just kept hearing reviews saying no Sirius xm. Seemed like a waste to spend that kind of money and not have it but have pretty much everything else. Would it work through android auto then if I had an app for Sirius on my phone?
@@jsav5845 oh ya totally. You can use the app on the radio itself. Or through CarPlay/Android Auto if the app is on your phone.
would this only fit the TRD or as well the SR?
