That was awesome! Though, yes, I can see some of the problems of the early design front and center here... the Hall with Gargoyle Statues just being a giant waste of time... Though, I thought it funny at how easy I could port this kind of adventure to my homegame and the system we use... I do love the fewer hit-point system...I feel like there's a greater sense of danger to adventures when something that has "20HP" enters the battlefield, and everyone just wants to "nope" out of there! ...I know that didnt happen here, but its my nostalgia-berries activating! LOL
When this scenario is wrapped up and the full module engaged with, I'll give it a full review. Basically, it's the structure of the module that makes it so good. No plot, no specific story you must follow... Just a setting, with things to players can engage with at their pace, and plenty of room for a DM to finesse in other adventures and hooks.
@@kolman3178 No no, I didn't think you were. Just saying that I'm getting close to a full review of it once the main scenarios are interacted with. It's been a long time in coming, will likely be well past the 40th episode before that happens. Good mileage for a 30 page module! 😁
I keep hoping you'll use more of the Thunder Rift modules. Be awesome to see them go off to Barrik's Keep to break the curse, Questing for the Silver Sword!! 😏 Mmmhmmm 😁
I recreate the scenes using the cut out minis, take hundreds of pics, then use a filter in the editing software to give it that cartoon look, as well as zooming and panning to give it the appearance of motion.

Always happy seeing Dungeon Minister visits. ^_^
Always kool when Kabuki comes by for a visit too! =)
@@Merlinstergandaldore Awww. My tail is wagging! :-D
That was a really fun session to play, and it was fun recap to watch!
If I ask if your a doppelganger you have to tell me, it's like in the Constitution or something
@@MykeDiemart I'm in Canada.
We have a constitution here in Canada too...

Thank you for your hard work. My 1st grade granddaughter has started watching we me. We are up to OSE #9!
How long before you get her started on Old School Games? =)
Fun review!
These are great! Thanks.
"I'm not a Doppelganger!" is exactly what a Doppelganger would say.
That should be on a t-shirt.
I might just do that!
That was awesome!

very enjoyable excellent recap
love these
Thanks Daniel!
hearing the opinion of Mr. Welch on the Keep on the borderlands its definetly lived up to his opinion of it.

Im not badmouthing it. Just his opinion how it trains players to be smart with engaging encounters or characters will die.
Though I do appreciate your reviews of everything so far. It has had me hoocked for quite a while.

I have looked into them, but not yet picked any up except for Assault on Raven's Ruin.
Finally had a chance to watch one. Fun watch! What do you use to create those animation videos?

Wight Power! 😉
😳
Did you use the light spell like 1e or BX? BX Light blinding does not allow the monster to attack is why I asked.
I use the AD&D rule for blinding.
@@Omenowl I always figure a blinded enemy, knowing it's surrounded by danger, will lash out. It's hardly going to just stand there.
@@TheDungeonMinister I always felt -4 wasn’t enough as you can always keep your distance.
Did Ragnar use athelas to cure poison?
Clearly he couldn't find any, as the 2nd save failed!
@@Merlinstergandaldore lol
Mungo Chubbbb!!! sorry but the halflings really steal the spotlight when they appear!
Just wait until episode #35 - when a new player arrives playing a halfling, bent on comedy!

Back home safely, Sean?
Oh yes, I have been back for a couple of weeks. I was only away for 5 days.
Is the Wight capable of fighting while blind? The spell description in OSE states blind creatures cannot fight.🤔
I use the AD&D rules for blinding, which applies -4 to strike for the blinded creature, and +4 to strike against them, rather than rendering them unable to attack.
Figured that much! Love your narrations btw!
