- This video shows some of the works-in-progress in my craft room. What I’m hoping for is an opportunity to work on what you’d like to see. I’m in need of some creative therapy and I’d love to create with others who are seeking the same. You choose the project(s) and we can share ideas and techniques. Cori, I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your son. We lost our middle son in 2008 at 20 years old and my husband passed away in 2017 at only 60. Grief really stinks and sneaks up on you and takes you down whenever it feels like it. Please be patient with yourself and be good to yourself. Your hurt will unfortunately never go away, I’m so sorry to say, but as time goes on it will change and you will learn to live along side it. Sending you strength and hugs. ❤

The loss of a child is the most painful loss a person can survive. We lost our eldest son a year ago this February. There are no words. I read in the comments that many want you to pick your next project. I think you may want some direction as even small decisions are so difficult during this time. Therefore, clusters are wonderful because you can just get lost in them. But should you wish to do a larger project, either the Gentleman's Journal or the Wildflower Journal because they really only need to be put together and maybe tweaked. Sending love and prayers.

Dear Cori & Family, I know that there are no words right now that will ever make this better, but always remember, you have a large crafting family behind you, supporting you anyway we can. I can certainly relate to using my craft as a way to cope when all has seemed broken. We both share a teachers heart, so whatever brings you most joy, will bring joy to others!! Ahhh…. Creating is mindfulness and , for me too it’s therapeutic. My vote is to finish up the unfinished journals, pick your favorite first! Then sit back and smile at your accomplishments!

Hi Cori. I always love crafting with you. I would love to work with one sheet wonders. They look fun. My problem is that since my last stroke i am slow trying to follow direction. So very, very sorry about the loss of your youngest child. That's the worse loss ever! We never think we will have bury a child. My prayers are with you. I have had a rotten 2024 but I'm having trouble creating. I' m just not motivated and I am unable to create. Between 2023 and 2024 the life has just been sucked out. Creating has always been my escape. I'm so glad you can do this as you work through the grieving process.🙏
Oh Kris, I'm so sorry for you. I think many have been through a stretch where creating just isn't possible and I've had an idea that I will share very soon. I hope you watch (maybe tomorrow, after school. Maybe...) and that my thought/idea inspires you to sit down and just play with paper, which will often lead to thinking creatively again. I am so, so sorry about your loss. Losing a child is so out of order in life. I also lost a child in 2018 and it's a loss that haunts me daily, and am sure it will the remainder of my life. My faith is what keeps me going and knowing I will be reunited with her when the Lord calls me home. May God grant you the strength to endure each day and fill your mind with happy memories. My choices for future projects would be the one sheet wonders and I always love your clusters - can't seem to get enough of them 😊.

Cori, my dear my heart aches for you. I can’t even imagine what you and your loved ones are going through. ❤my condolences! In 2020 I was diagnosed with bipolar , depression and anxiety and it has really changed me and my life. I knew there was something going on but didn’t realize what it was. I’m still going through therapy but creating has been my outlet. I don’t have a lot of lace scraps as there’s not many places nearby for me to go but how about starting a journal from start to finish. Kind of like a beginner friendly one. I do have a few bits of fabric they are all newly purchased but they will do. Cori, how sweet of you to ask what we want when you should do what you want to do. Everything you do is simply gorgeous! Cori, I could hear in your voice and what you shared, this has been a period of overwhelming grief for you, your close friends, and loved ones.My heart and spirit are with you, and know, this community loves you. For me, 2024 has been a bit difficult ,and like you, I find peace in sitting in my art room and creating. Sometimes, I jut sit in my art room and find sanctuary, not do anything else but looking at what surrounds me. It’s not as relaxing as assembling a bit of art, being mindful only with what I’m doing. We survive and today is always a new day with possibilities. I would love to see whatever the majority is interested in working on. I do like the idea of seeing you make things, such as what you showed in your first enamel container, along with fiddling with unfinished clusters, however, I will follow along with whatever you’re doing. I have loads of pics of things you made as inspiration, but more is more, you know. Thanks again for all you do for us. Peace be with you and your loved ones.

I am sorry to hear of your loss! I am glad that creating helps to take your mind off of it even for a while. I would love to have you choose which to finish and in which order, however if that is too hard right now may I suggest a journal lottery? You could list each project on a slip of paper and put them all into a "hat" and pull one out. Would you enjoy that? We would enjoy any of them I am sure.

I am so sorry for your loss. I too am just finding out I will be being treated for a potential life threatening illness this year. So it is indeed a time to create for many of us out here. I thank God he has given us this space and desire to create. I liked all your ideas and would follow along with anything you choose. I am very interested in the one sheet wonders. Oh my heart Cory, I am so sorry for your loss in Tim’s passing. I am praying for you and your family as you navigate through life during the grief process and it’s timing. I'm so sorry you had to experience that loss. I was reflecting that my little brother would have been 54 this 17th and even though I've been learning to live with him gone for nearly 11 years now, I'm surprised at how much it can still ache at times. When I finally get to see him again, I'm going to kick him in the shin and then give him a huge hug so he knows we're good. I think throwing yourself into your creative outlet is healthy. I never had a cleaner house, let me tell you! But thankfully, as the years have passed, the grief has gone from gaping wound to tender proud flesh. Thank goodness we were made in such a way that the pain gets easier to tolerate. And the hope of being reunited in the future keeps us moving forward. {{hugs}}
I am so sorry for your loss, regardless of when it occurred. Thank you for your kind words and positive encouragement. There is not yet a time I don't think of him and hurt. But, he was worth loving and missing him reminds me of what a blessing he was for 28 years. Bless you ❤️

Sweet Cory, my heart hurts for you. I can tell you from my own losses that you are correct.. stay busy. It didn't make it go away, but helps in the healing. Someone told me you never get over it, but you will get through it. You're an amazing artist, and kindest of souls. Oh, Cory. My heart breaks for you. I know how grounding it is to craft. It is opening up a channel to the ineffable and letting the creative force flow from the universe into our manifest reality.
