Tony Martin = one of the most underrated Male vocalists of all time ever.
Tony iommi almost never talks or mentions the tony martin era of the band, he perhaps thinking to himself that by doing so the fans of the band might forget that fact, but nobody wants to forget that era, we want to remember that era forever, it was a time when black sabbath wrote the best modern day heavy metal music with a great vocalist that was also the most elegant frontman for the band, thanks for sharing.
Well that has changed now 🙂👍
Damn! That’s one of Tony Martin’s best vocal performances ever!
The way he sings "black Sabbath" OMG,he never did it again like these 🔥

Tony was really on fire in this show!
OMG Devil & Daughter! That's insane! Some of the highest notes I've ever heard Tony Martin hit! 👏👏👏
Es una verdadera joya escucharlo, porque en la mayoría de veces que cantó Devil AND Daugther llos altos las cantaba en un tono más bajo.
he was an amazing singer and very good songwriter too!! his sound was out of this world in those years and his vocal range INSANE. DEVIL AND DAUGHTER was the best of the show!! i can't imagine any SABBATH singer doing that vocal job!
Hell of a Band! Hell of a Singer!
Martin at his best..probably the best in the 80's.
I don't know what's happened to his voice nowadays but he was one of the best singers in Heavy Metal / rock history . Great show.
The mere fact that Tony hit those high notes on the last pre-chorus of Headless Cross is enough to warrant a like for this. Oh my goodness did that send shivers down my spine. And he just nails every song here! I wish this show was pro-shot instead of the one in Moscow that year. They had to do 2 shows on that day and his voice was a bit shot by then.
Martin's unfair reputation as being an average live singer was forever cemented by the fact that none of the professional video footage available on UA-cam shows him at his best. In Moscow he had to 2 shows in the Russian winter and during most of the Cross Purposes tour he was sick. His 1995 performance in Malta is okay but nothing compared to what he could do during his heydays. I wish those bootlegs were more popular, they really do him justice.
@@starfthegreat That's true and very unfortunate as to how people have come to perceive the man. I've seen solo live performances from Tony Martin after he left Sabbath where he sounded better than the Cross Purposes shows. Those pro-shot performances are regretfully what most people take at face value.
And When Death Calls????? He just went to hit all those damn high notes. I can only say the same as you. It send shivers down my spine.
This and the Manchester pro bootleg are the best boots from this Era I have heard by far.
On the Tyr tour he was great too. Even in 87 on eternal idol tour.
@@starfthegreat hopefully Iommi will remaster some of the better live performances with Martin one day.
Wow, this NYC crowd took the show to another level with their aggressive singalongs! Great recording!
I believe I can hear my yells what a good time miss them days
Tony Martin is amazing!!!!
Was there, remember it well. Great night! Still have my ticket stub.
Oh shit....When Death Calls is one of the best metal songs of ALL TIME.
I was there on my 21st birthday!
Colin "Cozy Powell" Trevor Flooks r.i.p 🎶🎼🙏👊
Geoffrey James Nicholls r.i.p 🎵🎼🎶🎼🎹🙏👊
that lineup was so fucking great, r.i.p. to masters
53:00 Best song of BLACK SABBATH
great bootleg .... nice !!!!
I really wish this band wasn't named Black Sabbath. Such a solid band and this is most certainly a great performance but I think by having the black Sabbath name, that held them back. Tyr is an even greater record than headless cross. But in my head, this band is called The eternal Idol. Like when they got back with Dio, they called it heaven and hell
I was at this show-great to hear it again!
I was there also.if I remember correctly Kingdom Come opened that night.great show,Cozy on drums!! Awesome!!!
I was at the show.
Holy Diver me to savory brown open up miss old NYC
Was it a good turnout
Serious?
sabbath was hard back in late 80s
following their music was liking to being on a Carousel ! ( * *)
Maybe Martin's best live ....
tony martin the best
Mr. Colin "Cozy Powell" Trevor Flokins 😢
Mr. Geoffrey James Nicholls 😢
I was there. Amazing show.
Grandioso concierto 🤘🤘💀
53:20 Devil and daughter
8:49
martin sings "at the headless cross"?
Yes but pretty rare. Those parts were sang in harmony, not in a single voice so he left the job on tape.
Pierre Gaston I heard for the first time that he was singing this part live!!! I thought again that Tony Martin is a great singer…
@@doro6714 in the early gigs of Headless Cross tour and the TYR Tour he sings AT HEADLESSS CROSSSSS. Man, this is so energic
That was done with a sampler which Geoff Nicholls had on stage, I believe.
@@joshe.1062 no! Was martin and your powerfull voice.
