HMS Victory (Portsmouth) + Caldercraft Exact Scale Model (1:72)

- A video/photo slideshow of our visit to HMS Victory, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard during February 2018, interspersed with photos of the construction of Caldercraft's HMS Victory, 1:72 exact scale model (as she was at the time of the Battle of Trafalgar, 1805). Anyone who has ever built (or attempted to build) an accurate model of this magnificent ship will appreciate the hours, patience and precision that went into creating this impressive model.
The Caldercraft model of HMS Victory was built by Thea Bakx. Her first HMS Victory model photo slideshow (Constructo, scale 1:94) can also be seen on another of my UA-cam uploads.
This film uses animated extracts from Napoleon: Total War (La montée de l'empire 4 Mod.). I would like to thank Peter Sawyer for his video "HMS Victory - Battle of Trafalgar" as I (cheekily!) used pieces of his text and content in order to bring this video/slideshow to life. All credits, including the composers of the soundtrack, are to be found at the end of the film.
A most splendid model!
A job very well done. Excellent model building of one of England’s greatest treasures. That ship is absolutely spectacular. I long to travel to Portsmouth and see her. Thank you for a wonderful video tour of that ship I adore.
Britains greatest treasure. Actually.
Was staying in London for my first trip out of the States and had to take a quick trek down to Portsmouth to see Victory. She's being worked on, so there's scaffolding up her port and starboard sides but she's still a beauty! Imagine seeing her at full sail! Her big backside is now my screen saver lol Good work on the model, love the copper platting!

well done to you for taking the time to visit the Historic Dockyard, it is a shame that victory is undergoing such a massive refit, i hope you had the time to see some the other ships, and had a good time.
@@daneelolivaw602 It was a great to be able to tour HMS Victory. Only the outside is covered up by scaffold and not totally. It's a great thing they can work on her still, and let interested folks go through nearly all the ship. I hope I look that good when I'm some 258 years old lol. As far as the other ships, I was really only interested in Victory. I was on holiday and needed to watch what I spent, otherwise I would have toured HMS Warrior too. and the other ship...can't seem to remember its name.

The other ship might have been the Mary Rose, the flagship of King Henry 8th. Well, now you have a reason to come back and visit us again.
Just fantastic, I am currently building my fifth boat, Captain Cook's Endeavour by Occre, but one day I will build the Victory.
Great video and tremendous build of the model I cannot imagine the hundreds of hours that went into it
Beautiful!
fantastic, really well done
Ok, cela m'évite d'y aller (compte tenu de mon état de santé) merci beaucoup ♥
Fantastic creation.
Uma verdadeira obra prima!
Magnifique !
Amazing
complimenti hai fatto un ottimo lavoro ti meriti un bel 10 grazie per averci fatto sognare, per un momento pensavo di essere con te dentro la nave
LIKE 1000 CONGRATULATIONS FOR THIS INCREDIBLE MODEL!!!
great presentation, really enjoyed this, I have been on HMS Victory, It is a lot smaller on the gun deck than you imagine.
" Ships of wood .....and men of Iron"..
What Beauty.
I went on it in the early 2000s and I had to duck, and I'm just over five feet so yeah it's cramped in there.
A good model.
Nice work! You even used a figurine showing Lord Nelson on his ship!
Horatio Nelson never used the HMS Victory, his flagship was the HMS Eagle
Thomas Hardy was Victory's captain, Nelson was Admiral of the fleet at Trafalgar.
Una grande e bella nave
É mais imprecionante que os navios modernos.
Great model, huge amount of work has gone into this but any reason why the Union Jack is upside down?
Fa viejo, el soundtrack de Transformers. Buen trabajo (Good job mate)
