    Nice video and beautiful landings. The Mig 21 bis, in my opinion, is one of the best DCS modules.

      Thank you. And yes, I agree. The mig is very satisfying to fly!

    An impressive video and very informative, sadly I think I'll still be battling to learn the MiG-21 for some time to come. While I love the aircraft, I am admittedly struggling with it.

    When lading gear is down, do not forget to return lever back to "neutral" position, otherwise there is high chance to loose compressed air.

    • @CommanderSteinsch
      @CommanderSteinsch  4 роки тому +2

      According to the manual, you keep the lever down until taxi. Not sure why. Maybe to reduce pilot error risks?

    • @wraith444
      @wraith444 4 роки тому +6

      That's only when retracting. With the handle up it applies brake pressure when raising the gear to prevent vibration until the gear is fully retracted, and doesn't stop until the handle is set to neutral.

    what is your color settings this looks great. Or is it done in post

    • @CommanderSteinsch
      @CommanderSteinsch  2 роки тому

      Probably some light color effect in post if I remember correctly.

    Can you have some tip when you are on crosswind landing.

  • @neuzdost1939
    @neuzdost1939 4 роки тому

    Nice one, but always remember to return gear handle in the neutral position after using it. Leaving it in closed or open position will results in fail of hydraulics pump leading to dead brakes

    • @CommanderSteinsch
      @CommanderSteinsch  4 роки тому

      Thanks ! According to the real life manual, returning the gear handle to neutral is done once you're on the ground, taxiing. I'm still not sure why though.

      @@CommanderSteinsch Thats maybe just for you to dont overdo it in the stress or vibrations of cockpit and accidentally click it into "up" possition i quess. However leaving it for few minutes and your landing will be "funny", happened to me countless times :D :D

      @@CommanderSteinsch But i really enjoyed your work. Not only you still rocking these sick cockpit mods athrough they dont work since last update but also spending free time studying actual aircrafts manual, same as me. Keep it up buddy

    Doing the landing challenges in MSFS2020 really made me realize that my landings sucked. Now all my landing are absolute butter (disclaimer on all).

    Well, my tutorial is just embarrassing now. Nice to see what this looks like from the perspective of someone who doesn't flop around like a drunken fish struggling to stay ahead of the jet.

      Haha, I can still be a drunken fish! Don't sell yourself short. Your tutorial is very detailed and using that customized kneeboard was a brilliant idea.

    Have you noticed the MiG 21 is no longer showing any inflight stall characteristics with the DCS Open Beta 2.5.6.x? Stalling seems present in DCS Stable version 2.5.5?

    • @CommanderSteinsch
      @CommanderSteinsch  4 роки тому +1

      Yes. That's broken. But as long as I remain within the enveloppe, I dont feel the pain 😁 Hopefully they'll fix the FM soon.

    Hi, are You using some light mod for the scenery? :)

    • @CommanderSteinsch
      @CommanderSteinsch  4 роки тому

      No mod. Just digital vibrance to 80-100% in nvidia settings. And a bit of light and color correction in post production

    Pffff don't see the point of this video, landing the Mig-21Bis is not that hard...but when using my method, picking up bits of plane later rather is... :D So thank you for this great video, finally managed to land with plane in one piece!

    • @CommanderSteinsch

      It's possible you deploy it while still too fast. The chute would then automatically detach itself.
      Also, your keybind may not be working properly. It happens sometimes. Assign the function to another key or button on your HOTAS, see if it helps.
