I would love to visit Arafat at the Geneva market one day. He seems to have good energy and quite relaxed .

You’re very fortunate to live somewhere with markets like this within comfortable traveling distance! When Arafat mentioned topping up tools, he was getting at the fact that you can use it to modify a wheel that is close to what you need to fit your needs. If you can find a wheel with the right number of teeth, the topping tool can change the height of the teeth, the space between them and their shape.
Hi, you can still use rounding up tool for making new wheel. First you need to cut slots of feature teeths on the lathe by slitting saw, after you can use the topping tool.

Yes, I actually remember reading that at some point and I even made a preliminary attempt with my vintage rounding up tool and a small wheel that I managed to slit with my lathe, but I didn't get very far, perhaps because I tried it on a very tiny wheel and I don't know what I'm doing. I will try again with the larger wheels that I need to make for the verge fusee and I'll make a video about it!
@@IMakeWatches for small and even for bigger wheels, to achieve good results, wheels must have support, thus mostly wheels cuts on a bunch, so the last one become something like a support, and don`t used any more. Good luck
The great thing about Plainpalais is it's always open (every Wednesday and Saturday). Arafat only goes when the weather is nice and when he's not traveling, but otherwise you can find him there year round. (There's also a farmer's market on Sunday but it's a different set of vendors.)

At the beginning I mentioned that I was going back to check prices with the vendor from the previous video. That was specifically to check on his Enicar prices! Unfortunately we got started a bit late and he was already gone by the time we went looking for him. I've noticed that several of the watch vendors start packing up as early as 3pm, I think because much of the action at the flea market is first thing in the morning. The serious buyers arrive early for first looks.

Hunting the Favre Leuba, they also had a depth guage diver & a barometric model as well as a almost mythic 20's monopusher chronograph.
