The big one at 2:36 My older brother had a toy of that model that I eventually played with when I was a kid. The steering wheel turns the two front tires and I always loved that aspect of the toy. I still have it and always picture some old school farmer still using it after all these years. Brings a tear to this city slickers eye.
This video reminds me of my great uncle who always helped my papa farm and it makes me remember I’ll see him in heaven someday which makes me very happy
My 656 and 856 are still had at work on my farm the 856 mows and square bales the 656 chops grass and moves round bales ,the 656 has over 10,000 hrs on it and the 856 has over 8,800 hrs
Wish I could have been around back then. No GPS, no auto steer, no electric BS, no problems. Nice video. 1066 black stripe is one of the best looking tractors IH ever built, next to the 1206.
The Farmall M was the biggest tractor on the farm when we were kids. The only 56 series tractors we had were the Ertl toy tractors that went through a lot of wear and tear like our other farm toys. Fond memories.
Many hours on the mighty M myself. M-450 are absolutely brute force for the HP they produce. Such fond memories of them as a kid that I've bought one in my adulthood and bringing the appreciation of them to my grandchildren now.
Like your IH videos great history and the music brings back those hot sticky day's so long ago. L S Fantastic band wonderful Gibson Les Pauls pour out that distorted lush maple cap one of a kind rock sound that Fenders can't. reproduce that simple. Red & White IH 1206 Turbo Best Looking Farm Tractor of All Time !!! Bye
Excellent video about my favourite brand of tractors! Regards from Australia. IH Australia built a local version of the 756 Wheatlander and built a slightly different version of the 666 - 766 called the "A766" (D-310 engine) Australia even had two unique models - "866" (D-358 engine) and "976" (DT-358 engine) The 976 replaced the US 966 in Australia. Great tractors that are still earning their keep today!
my 666 with the American D312 is a brute.10,000 + hours and still kicking green butts.wore out 3 sets of 4x16 plows with it so far.it just keeps going.it out lasted 2 new JD 2940's.they both went to hell at 5000 hours. engines were still good but rest of tractors was shot.IH ain't dead yet. they are still working.we are running13 old IH tractors year in and year out from a 1950Cubto a 1980584 as of now the 666 is my big tractor.stil running a 1965 gasoline 504 too. real tractors are RED!!!!!!!!!!
+greg berry Sounds like poor maintance on the JD's,I've seen the new JD's(4640-4840)with well over 25,000 hours on them without any major drivetrain repairs.
Can't beat Lynyrd Skynyrd and old IH tractors. My father-in-law had an M, C, a two row corn picker, a beautiful combine (I don't know the model) with a 3 row corn head and 12' header. All like new untill the sale. If a seal started leaking. it got fixed. Tried to buy the C but when it shot through $2000, I had to walk away. Thanks for the great memories. When you make someone smile you are doing something right!
sorry but Skynyrd and good old farming back in the 1960s & 1970s , never mixed, all the Farmers I knew back then always had good solid classic country tunes from artists like Hank Sr. Willie, Waylon, Johnny, Buck, or Merle going
Although it's not a Farmall, I always would have loved to find one but instead we have a 1056XL with D358 engine that does a beautiful whistle when running. 3800 hrs original an absolute keeper. My grandfather bought it in the 80's and it has always been his favorite.
As a 13 year old I am ashamed i missed out on such a golden age 😢 the only thing that makes me truly happy is my international 806 that I’m restoring. And my intentional 1466.
The 56 series was the best looking tractor ever made. The 66 second . I have both . Still farm them . Deere had more luxury. But tough to beat the simplicity and reliability of IH . so sad it's gone .
Nice compilation. The 56 series have some of the rarest tractors. The 66s are much more common. The Melrose Park engine series that were introduced in the 66 series were so good that the DT466 is still being produced today. They are one of the few engines that are produced 45 years after they were introduced. Notable exceptions of this is the Australian built 866 which had the German built D358. There were just over 1500 produced. Most North Americans are unaware that these ever existed. And of course the 1468 and 1568 that had the DV 550 engine and were not heavily produced.
The UAW and high interest rates killed IHC, John Deere was able to negotiate and adjust to the economy primarily because there were still Deere Family members on the board of directors who were taught how to manage the business.
I think the tractor on the right might be a 756 gas with factory cab. I think I can see the carburetor and air tube to the carb. Or it might even be a rare 856 gas since the tractor does have duals on it.
The 656 was harvesters answer to the 1650 Oliver. The biggest complaints I know of is the gear grinder transmission and the guaranteed rebuild of the TA. I had a 1650 and my only complaint was the lack of a clear platform. I H did better than that on the 656. Today, I can't buy a 656 at a reasonable price. They're just that popular!
@@loganbeedy5950 656 free wheels when you pull back on the TA and has a shitty engine and starts hard has a bad transmission and shifts hard I’ve worked on 5 of them and run one for over 200 hours and I can say there is a lot to be desired
+Alex Buta because we don't have the hilly and tough terrain you Europeans have, a vintage ih these days with 4wd can bring up to 80,000 with low to mid hours.
45,000? Wow! I have several with 10K+ which is about 20K on a digital tach on a tractor made today. 856 tach quit working in the early 80’s at 7800 hrs & it still gets used every day as a chore tractor. Have a 1026 with 10K showing that local dealer says should be in a museum bc it’s too pretty to get dirty. I just hope some day someone appreciates them after I’m gone bc they will certainly outlive me
Even as a deere fan, i think its a shame what happened to such a big company that made great equipment.
I can listen and look at this great video all day. Those were the days. IH paved the way and alive today. IH marches on!
Grew up in those days, put most 2800 hours on a 1066, 1973 model, great times...
Seeing so many beautiful pictures what a delight and joy to watch International at it's finest 🙂

1066POWER: Thank you so much. Have watched this video many times and will watch it many times more I am sure.

This is how my generation grew up..
When the small farms died so did the best part of our country..ALL BEEN DOWN HILL SINCE.!
No truer words ever spoken.
I am from Switzerland! I love this Song and the old Foto, nothing get over. Great!
I have a 656 Hydro and I learn to drive with it when I was young (4 years old).
ya I'm 12 and I'm on a farm we have a ih 544 that I learned on when I was 5 I still have the Tracktor and it is mine and Tracktor pull it all summer
those were the goo old days when IHC made great equipment
Wish I could have been around back then. No GPS, no auto steer, no electric BS, no problems. Nice video. 1066 black stripe is one of the best looking tractors IH ever built, next to the 1206.
I did not like the black stripe ones I think 1456 was a badass looking tractor
Good Ole days for sure! Regardless if your Red, Green, Orange, blue fan or any other color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is for sure!!
This is the best video I've ever seen! I wish I could go back to my childhood and sit up on the side of the tractor, while my hero worked the field.
I wouldn't be surprised if a SUBSTANTIAL percentage of all of these IH tractors are still running & working today!!!

I hope they invent a time machine so I can head back to those days
Always loved that pic of the 656 and close-coupled 5100 drill.

+4 gauge This is why in part IH died.(merged with Case,Stiger)
I was a fourth generation farmer we had 13 Inters at one time ,great tractors, honest hard workers .

Bring back IH, build the 66 series Tractors again! You won't be sorry Automobile companies do it why not CaseIH 👍
IH Us because case builds junk
Una de las mejores marcas de maquinaria agricola de la historia.❤❤❤
It’s sad that machines like these are all but gone.
Nah there is still a lot of them around
Great song and video. At 2:08, remember manually lifting the wings on our Kewanee disk back in the 70's
There was an 826! My first farm tractor l learned to drive!
Always been an Oliver/White guy but total respect to IH!
The good day.. I saw my grandfather purchase an IH 1440 on a hand shake in 1977. No money was passed until the picking was over....
I had a 656 hydro great feeding tractor and haying
I love the music behind this video.
I love old school

Those where the days back when all it tool was a simple kind of man to make it

Australia also had a tractor called the 976 which used the German DT-358 turbo diesel engine. The 976 replaced the US 966 in the Australian market.
We had a 766 Inter back in the 80's that had the German engine in it. Was a great tractor
I miss the good ole 2 wheel drive tractors. It just ain't the same without those in the feild
Anyone ever see a tractor with aerodynamic lines and think "How fast do you plan on driving that thing?"
I think you might've missed the Hydro 70 and 666 but that's okay I really like the video
Great video
706 with 310, 766 black stripe with 360 and 1466 with red cab
Love the video if I can't go red I won't go. It's a great tractor
I still have a lot of that IH being used on my farm
The UAW and high interest rates killed IHC, John Deere was able to negotiate and adjust to the economy primarily because there were still Deere Family members on the board of directors who were taught how to manage the business.
Shouldn't the thumbs down be disabled for this video?
Good equipment
great vid good song!!!
i wish they still made products like this
J'ai eu le 706 et l'hydro ça belle mécanique
0:08 What's the model of the tractor on the right? looks like a 1456 with Hiniker cab.
Kyle H82 I think it's a factory cab
Kyle Kenan could be. I'm going to check in tractor house
I think the tractor on the right might be a 756 gas with factory cab. I think I can see the carburetor and air tube to the carb. Or it might even be a rare 856 gas since the tractor does have duals on it.
It's either a 756 or 856 because the IH logo is in the grill while the 1256 and 1456 had it above the grill
Does anyone know what the number of the tractor is in the first picture
What number is the first tractor it showed
656 or 544
I love my 966 45,000 hours and going strong
I remember growing up in the 70s and even in the 80s you had "green" farms and "red" farms.
At 0:47 that tractor with the hay rake👍
@4:50 Nice pickup truck don't see many around anymore.
Kelly Kopsa every once in a great while. I had a 65 ih scout. Loved it!

They were the best brand but they had their day rip International Harvester but you are now known as case ih
Lots of em still going. A time past
Great Video!!
2:05 planting corn on the white house lawn
Yeah definitely best American days but everything has gone to crap
Would have like to seen a 4366 & a 4568
my pappy has a 1066 turbo with a possy
on 0:20 it looks like my grandpa
Could realy do without the music.
The soundtrack was completely inappropriate.
why you americans like to drive 100+ hp tractors but just with 2WD just why???/
+Alex Buta because we don't have the hilly and tough terrain you Europeans have, a vintage ih these days with 4wd can bring up to 80,000 with low to mid hours.
wow thanks for the intel ;)
true most of my father's land is a bit hilly ;)
true most of my father's land is a bit hilly ;)

How about tractor sounds instead of damn music, jeez!!
Worst tractors ever made 😎
😂
Good JOKE.
Bunch of scrap iron compaierd to a Deere guys
south sask farmer I'm sure all of us can agree all the old brands are way better than the shit that's out today
I think your doctor has you on some bad medication!👍
I used to watch your videos. Shame on you lol.
South Sask Farmer oh boy a frog enters the conversation.
The tractor at 0:04 seconds i must have it
