Nice overview of floating shelf installation.. You spoke of the hardware having flush mounting alignment / adjustment screws, it would have been nice to demonstrate how to align the shelf using those adjustments screws, for the novice woodworker.
I would not even bother with dry wall anchors and instead drive a thicker bolt deeper into the 2x4 the I"m making this type of shelf for liquor bottles and don't trust drywall at all
Dave, the drywall anchor mounts are not load bearing. They are only keeping the bracket from being pulled out and in place for the shelve bracket to align with. This is important because the setscrews that are on the bottom of the shelve bracket that are used for leveling must line up with the wall bracket. The post must be placed on a stud, he describes this @ 2:20 to 2:40min. And then shows it at the 5:00 to 5:45min mark. He drills a 21/64" x 3 1/8" long hole for a rod that is almost 3/8" in diameter and will sit almost a full 3" into a 2"x4" stud. I hope this helps. 👍
So nothing is actually holding the wood against the wall? I guess this is not a great option if there is anything on the shelf leaning, applying a slight outward force on the wood, or if you have kids who would pull outward on the shelf for some reason.
The wight of the shelf itself and gravity. Ensuring a tight accurate fit will also create resistance from shifting. These are for shelves that will not be getting touched, so they won't be going anywhere.

I only question the mounts used. If it's light you're fine but those drywall mounts aren't that strong and can rip from the wall

What prevents this shelf from común off the posts?

With my luck I'd drill through an electrical cable.
