Whiskey Tribe is like Mythbusters for whiskey drinkers.
illmatic32 _ you nailed it!😄
illmatic32 _ if it were hosted by Johnnie Knoxville and Bam Margera 😂
and Tory jumping the bicycle.
On this episode it's Mythbusters meets Fear Factor
Whiskey busters?
I thought “it smells like a hate crime” would be the peak of the episode. Boy was I wrong...
This one had me rollin guys. Straight cried laughing thru most of the second half of the video. I would have definitely called earl on the sandwich...bravo for your commitment 👏🏻👏🏻
It’s the lids. The rubber seal and plastic coating is giving that note.
Right! Shoulda boiled them or something first. Or just bought multiple bottles and heated in sealed bottles. If the cork blew off, that would be useful information too
I was going to say the same thing... they should do the same thing again with a different container or add a sheet of cork between the kid and the jar
That's exactly what I was thinking. The lids are meant to not affect food noticeably when heated, but high proof alcohol might pull a little more out than a less solvent solution. They could just sink a mostly empty bottle in the sous vide if they want to try this again. It'll still get up to temperature, but it'll remove a variable. If the bottle top itself contaminates it, it's still a good experiment since that would happen to a bottle in the car too.
not really sure when i use my all american canner it go to 250f for 90 min and never transfert rubber taste to anything.its not 12 hour but thoses seal are design for this.
@@benoitbessette658 I don't think anyone's saying it's definitely the lids, but they are a possibility. I agree that pressure canning goes way hotter and food tastes fine afterwards, but the alcohol could make a difference. Also, most canned food may cover-up or buffer a slight rubber taste more than a small amount of alcohol that's meant to be sipped.
“It smells like a hatecrime!”😄😂🤣😂🤣 Fantastic work, gentlemen!👏👏👏
"I know my way around a beef stick" quote of the year so far
"so far" i'd say we've started the year off great with that.
I lost it at Rex's little whimpers when he ate the sandwich😂😂😂
Eye watering top shelf shenanigans today. Had me laughing like a hyena in the middle of costco.
John Verstraete right?! Then all these buzzkills commenting about the lids. I’m going to pray for them, they clearly have no joy in their lives.
Literally wiping my tears as I read this, yes!
This might be my favorite set of shenanigans iv ever seen! I'm actually crying from laughter.
Rex losing it was very contagious. Lol
Smash-cut to next week: "So we just hired a new head of HR"...
Hard to refute a complaint when it's on UA-cam for a bunch of crazy whiskey enthusiasts to see.
In an episode full of laughs, ending with "can I get some of that Laphroaig" was awesome.
someone should invent Laphroaig flavoured mouth-wash. :D
Seeing questions and comments about the potential flavor impact of the heated lid. Interesting thought. We’ll do a follow up experiment and include it somewhere in next weeks video. 👍(UPDATE) We followed up with another test here: ua-cam.com/video/wi0HVv_gCxs/v-deo.html
I was going to ask if you think that the canning lid was the source, and if left in a bottle it wouldn't be so bad.
Meh other canned foods don't taste like plastic!
Brandon Knight yeah but they were in mason jars which had plastic in the lid as a seal. And most of the goods you’re referring to aren’t heated in their cans over 12 hours.
I was referring to home canning.
If you open a brand new mason jar they smell like plastic/rubber and it has to be from the seal. The alcohol and the extended time pulled that flavor out.
This was a really strange episode of Good Mythical Morning. I’m here for it!
"That smells like a hate crime" I'm stealing that Rex it was gold. This was halarius, your boy did a good job!
Funniest episode ever, I laughed the whole time!
I thought I had seen everything you had posted on UA-cam, but then this sequence appeared! I laughed out loud several times here sitting alone on the 3rd floor sipping 2-3 different good whiskies. Thank you so much for making such incredibly funny films!
That evil look in Rex's eye when giving Daniel the banana
Well that sounds dirty.
This is easily one of my favorite videos you guys have ever done. Shoutout to Alex, who does a ton of work off-camera and probably doesn’t get enough recognition.
Immediately the best episode ever. Literally can’t breath!!!
Diggin' the b-roll stuff that you guys included in this video (the individual whiskey pour, etc). Adds a nice flair to the vids that doesn't take away from the awesome content.
What makes this kind of content is the genuine laughter of Rex when this stuff comes off...he had an idea/vision and NO IDEA how it would come off and made gold
Daniel dominated this entire episode.
Attaboy Somm!
Really stepping up the production value! Awesome b-roll shots and the little motion graphics. Content was great too, but that’s always on point hahah!!
So I just found your channel a little while ago, and I was actually gonna see if I could ask the tribe about this very thing. About 8 years ago I left a bottle of Jack in the car along with some crown. So at some point my car gets towed, and my sister drives me to go and get it. It takes forever, and there's a go-cart place nearby. I decided to check first and make sure everything of mine was in the car before we head over to some go-carts for at least some fun in this trip. We find the whiskey... Crown was just crown, but the Jack Daniels did something super freaky! It legit tasted like chocolate. Not hints, overtones, or aftertaste of chocolate. Just, chocolate. There was no bite to it at all. We drank it straight and had a great time at go-carts. I think it was there for maybe 2 years, and I've tried it since then with a few whiskeys including Jack Daniels and never had any luck, but it was a really really hot summer in DFW.
Daniel deserves many hugs and attention! Master sommelier full power!
This is very interesting to me. I work for a major motor carrier (trucking company). Over the last decade I've hauled many varieties of spirits. None of them have ever been shipped in a refrigerated trailer. In fact, some of the imported tequilas coming out of Mexico have sat for days in the Laredo summer heat before our company picked it up. You'd think they would require a reefer trailer just to prevent the product from acquiring off flavors.
How do you know it's an abnormally awesome tribe video? Rex giggles and laughs like a little girl.😂
I lost it when he said "Can I have some of that Laphroaig?" - buehehehehee
gerardlp640 me too 😂😂
I have never drank whiskey regularly and don't plan to, but I've never laughed so hard at a youtube video that my face hurts like I do with you guys! Cheers!
You guys made my day. I was a bit upset but this episode made my cry
I hope you’re doing better a year later man. I love you bro.
That might be the funniest thing I’ve ever watched on you tube. Well done boys, keep the entertainment coming.
Never have I ever laughed so much in my entire life as watching this episode
I know, this was probably their funniest one to date, I literally had tears rolling multiple times!
Don't forget about the impact of the canning lid and seal...
I agree 100%. The argument is gona be that the whisky wasn't touching the seal.... but I know that particles will become airborne and still contact the whisky
@@lanecrenshaw4234 at 170 degrees, some of that stuff is vapor.
This is by far the best episode ever. I was crying I have watched this twice and I still rolling on the floor with laughter and tears. You guys are the best.
We are not worthy . You are the Holly master Daniel. The great one. 🤣🍷🍷🍷
This is now my favorite UA-cam channel. I want a whiskey tribe t shirt.
....why do I get the feeling 2020 is going to be a "fun" year for Daniel......
Fun is subjective, but torture is not
It's the extra fiber from eating more banana.
Speaking from the future, fun was most definitely subjective. 😂
really can't tell if this comment aged well or really, really poorly
Please lift the curse, Shaman
I need the "I mean, like, sexually" as a gif
Oh my I am crying; you guys are so great!!
I just worked all night and I come home to this. Thanks for making my day you MB's!
If this is the new editors work its REALLY good!
Just wanted to let you guys know you have made a huge impression on this 23 year old. Where I come from weed is dominant and the only whisky bought is Wisers or Crown. With your minor lessons I now have been keeping an eye out for bars with better whisky options in order to choose the right place not truly sink my teeth in.
Keep it up you glorious bastards!
Daniel nailed this experiment. This dudes passion for whiskey is upfront and center, which is why the Tribe and Vault are so popular! Cheers mates!
Btw "Smells like a hate crime " had me rollin.
First shenanigan of 2020? Way to set the bar guys. That was great.
I fucking love how Daniel crushes these challenges like a boss and Rex about hurls, lmao.
I AM actually impressed how well Daniel guessed which was what.
Oh, my poor achin’ ass! Y’all are KILLING me here!! 😂😂😂
After binge watching the vault and tribe, this is by far my favorite episode. I could make at least a dozen t-shirts from the quotes on this vid.
Thank you for all the shenanigans
rex snot rocketing after not even a second of the sandwich being in his mouth has got to be the funniest thing i have seen in months! thank you guys from the bottom of my whisky loving heart. keep up the incredibly informational and entertaining videos. your friend, clark
Absolutely awesome!😆. I seriously lost it when the “off camera gag” happened. Replayed that 3 times. After that - gone!
This episode is so good. The impressive production quality of the product shots that they inserted at the beginning of the episode was a nice step up, and the shenanigans (and superb edits) in the last half of the episode actually had me crying with laughter.
Rex's laugh!!! My face hurts from smiling so hard when he was laughing, lol
And yes, Laphroaig is the perfect thing to settle an upset stomach.
These guys are awesome...they should bring this show to the food network..
Barrel of laughs.... You guys brightened up my day.... LoL
Hahaha classic shenanigans! The Mooch’s powers are dwindling though coz at 17:40 you see Rex’s “swinging pair” must be retracting all the way up!😂😂😂
The possibility of the lid impacting the taste is there, disregarding that, Daniel did get the right original and 2hrs at 100 degrees every time. So he does deserve a virtual hug, no?
This was by far my favorite episode of any Whiskey Tribe/Vault episode. I was losing my shit. Sitting here sipping Yamazaki 12 and they took the bite of the Jersey Mike's. I lost a big old sip of the nectar.
I think this is the funniest episode yet, and there has been many a funny episode. Y'all had me in tears laughing
are Rex and Daniel giants or did they find adorable little mini glencairns?
They look the right size to me.
Tasting glencairns $8
Glencairns come in different sizes and if you're going to compare 9 different Whisky you don't want to get drunk.
Thank God for you guys!! It's 3:30 in the morning and I'm straightening my hair (one less thing to do tomorrow morning. It's all about time management, my peeps lol) and having a beer catching up on a few UA-cam videos I've missed this past week. And dear Lord I was dying laughing!! I love yall so much!!
Watching that last bit....OMG it made have shiver! BLECH!!
The Slim Jim drop at 13:42 had me laughing so hard and I'm not sure why. Watched it like 5 times. The video editing right there was perfect. 😂
Sunlight makes beer go skunky because of the hops in the beer. Whiskey doesn't have hops so it should not be affected, but you should try it an see if it does. It's the UV in the sunlight that causes it so try putting whiskey under black light for several hours or days.
You are awesome Daniel!
Building off the idea of temperature. One whiskey heated to boil off some of the alcohol. Then cooled back down to room temp.
Great episode! Really can see the editing changed - it's next level now! Awesome job. :)
Aside from the rubber gasket mason jar lid, loved the new cutaways (whiskeys pouring and sous vide segment) and editing in this one. Nice job, Alex!
“Can I get some of that Laphroaig?”
Thanx guys! Almost spilled my drink while falling off the sofa dying in laughter🤣🤣🤣
This reminds me of being on a road trip and buying a bottle of Booker's at the Jim Beam distillery and leaving it in the car when we arrived in El Paso. After several hours of 102 degree heat, the bottle was nearly empty because the cork had blown out of the bottle. Never again! (But what was left actually tasted OK.)
I dig the new editing style. I don’t know if I like it more/less than Rex’s style, but if this is the future of the channel, I’m on board. Keep up the great content!
Rex’s laugh had me tears. Best video
Slow clap for the new editing. Works beautifully.
I have not laughed so hard in awhile. This made my night
Congrats Daniel!! Awesome skills!! 👌👌👌
well done Daniel, pad on the back, a big high five, etc. hehehe
This is the content I go on the internet for
I nearly pissed myself on that last one, lol! Rex's face, lol!
So good to see Daniel firing on all cylinders. And the food tests are hilarious.
Daniel👏🏻. You guys made me want to start distilling.
I woke up to my knob Creek with a brown streak in it than it all mixed and was really cloudy. But it actually had a sweeter note to it. But I think what might have happened is it was on my night stand close to a portible heater.
Lol “It’s a mermaid’s bath water wrapped in Saran Wrap.” That shit had me rolling. Thank you, Rex.
Congratulations Daniel! I’m here to affirm that you are indeed the king of tasting!
Also the editing on this video, with the temps on the whiskies was damn good!
Oh and that Rex dying cam!
after 3 months I get back to that episode and I still think this is one of, if not the funniest episode they ever made 🤣🤣🤣
Holy shit I literally lol’d hard at my phone a couple times through this. Fuck I love you guys.
Did the mason jar lids have a rubber gasket/seal? I wonder if that was the reason behind the odd note on the 172 degree versions?
Exactly. They cooked them with rubber and metal lids.
Golf clap for Daniel.... well done, sir.... :-)
Great editing!
That was by far the best episode I've seen yet. I almost pissed myself laughing at you two. Thanks for the content you guys are great.
Can you make a video about the proper way to store whiskey to get the most out of it. And maybe a video about a portable whiskey bar for get together or parties.
I have always been team Daniel......... and this proves why!!
I had Maker's Mark rolling in my car for a month and when I opened the bottle, it was soooo good, I couldn't get enough of it. It was like sweet liquid roasted popcorn. I tried a fresh bottle, it wasn't nearly as good. Now I got 3 more bottle rolling to get the same results.
Update us when you take em out!
I love the new editing
Good Job Daniel! We're all very proud of you!
When I was deployed to Iraq in 2003 we would get care packages that contained say shampoo and some type of canned food. By the time it got to us it had sat in that damned hot sun. When you go to eat the canned food like spaghetti Os, it would have the taste of the shampoo. So I wonder if leaving it in the heat would leach some chemical from the glass. Kind of the same concept. I guess I have no idea.
Digging the slow zoom-ins!
Although I LOVE the bucket and lid presentation myself,, you fellers should invest in a proper cloche. I mean,, just to keep it classy
The second half of this is the stuff I love most about tribe.
We luv u maginificient bastards...
Been wondering this for years! Great experiment. Thanks gents.
