@JohnnyFarcry I hope so after we over paid for a wr..you pay 30 million for a wr , you will be in cap trouble!! Like Miami....QBs and linemen Def and offense...QB make more close to 50 million!! And you only have a 230 million cap!! To sign 53 players ....st. Brown screwed us!! But at least he can Bragg he's the highest paid wr....because you don't need 30 million dollars a year to live off of!! Now we'll probably have to cut great players.

You have a WR that deserves to be paid and you can actually reset the WR market making other teams have to pony up even more to keep their star players. I might be missing something but the cap increases, he pushes other players to do better, great head on his shoulders, good family background and always willing to go above and beyond for the team and that's not even talking about the most important thing, his on field performance.

at 1st i wondered how Jared was a # 1 pick, Jared quickly proved he deserved to be a #1 pick,, imagine if he gets just a little better on the deep ball , he will be unstoppable.
I think Goff’s level headed play makes him a top 5 QB, I wish we had him in Carolina but hopefully Young becomes a star

I believe with the price point of QBs drafting a QB every two or three years is the future. It has nothing to do with Goff, it has to do with being able to constantly have an amazing team around a rookie contract QB. The teams who implement this will have a huge advantage.
This is the dumbest narrative I’ve ever read, re drafting a qb every 2-3 years to save money is so stupid. It’s so hard to hit on 1 qb who will be the franchise qb what makes you think you can draft one every 2-3 years and stay successful ? Qbs don’t reach their primes till 3-5 years into their careers. Horrible horrible take, if you have your qb you pay him. It’s as simple as that. Drafting a qb every 2-3 years is what the Cleveland browns did for so long. How did that turn out ? They went like 20 qbs drafted before hitting on baker 🤣🤣🤣

It’s a great deal for both sides. Goff has been to SB and to a conference championship game. If somehow Goff falls off of the lions have insurance in the best qb in college in 21 -22. Win win for the lions and Goff

This year Jared Goffs stats have been better than Staffords every year except 2 in Detroit. He’s had a better season than all but 2 years that Stafford had. And trust me, I LOVE Stafford.

Could be a handful of reasons but I personally feel it was more for insurance. If Goff doesn't work out they have an option but Goff is working out, working out very well in fact so now they have the luxury of building this kid up the right way with having an experienced, winning QB as a mentor. We already started seeing it from Bridgewater too. He was brought in to help mentor these young guys, Hendo and Jamo specifically.

First QB to win the North for the lions, multiple playoff wins in one season for a franchise that hade 1 total playoff before. What he's done for the Detroit Lions has been far more then any other QB, including Stafford.
