But here's the thing: At the end of the day the position of QB is still getting the ball to your playmakers as quickly and efficiently as possible. Jared Goff is obviously worth the max extension but if he were to take a home town discount in Detroit to help keep the team together then they will have a better chance to win it all plus there would be less pressure on him to win if he goes the Brady route and takes less money to have a better team around himself.

I don't think his agent would let him sign for anything less than 48 per, likely closer to 50; both of which I think are reasonable for a top tier QB like Goff.
