    Do you ever think of getting the one big tent so you can all share together, especially when it rains

    • @ScotsWildcamper
      @ScotsWildcamper  6 років тому

      Sometimes we take a big tent outer and go in there to talk if the weather is bad but i think we all like our own space for sleeping.

    I think his tent is a Robens Raptor, or something along those lines. Danish brand, seems really interesting. But man, you've got the set up I've been wanting to try for soooo long now! That Wikiup 3 and all its innards, looks so good. I hope that I one day will be able to get my hands on a set-up like that and try it out for a bit, see if ity matches my expectations, if its as fun as it seems. :D (And you weren't kidding about the mess, haha!) Thanks again for bringing us along, atb.

    • @ScotsWildcamper
      @ScotsWildcamper  7 років тому

      The Wandering Falcon It is the Robens Raptor. I found the Wickiup footprint abit awkward to get right using it with the half inner although to be fair it is really designed to be used on its own with the flysheet to give you a lighter option.A great space for 1 and i'll be using it this winter for sure , so i'll find how it does.Atb.

    • @thewanderingfalcon
      @thewanderingfalcon 7 років тому

      I can imagine so yeah, I would probably, at least at the get go, just get the tent with the half inner. That seems to be more then enough for me. Brilliant though, looking forward to seeing more on it. :) Weather there is very similar to where I live, so a great comparison for me.

    Looked like a nice chilled camp Eddie, nice to have now and again between the epics. Liking the set-up with the Wikiup loads of space eh?, since Diane bought me the Luxe sil-hex v4 i'm sold on it. Even been checking out those Tentipi larger basecamp tents, and the little stoves that go in the interior. Do i need another tent??? Take care....R&D :):)

    • @ScotsWildcamper
      @ScotsWildcamper  7 років тому

      Yes R&D a very lazy relaxed trip now and then is enjoyable but back to the real stuff soon. I've used a 8/10 man tipi with a woodgas stove with Nelson , not a backpacking tent lol but a very very nice shelter when it rains for 21 hours solid ! More tents more experiences , enjoy and ATB.

    Excellent Eddie, Loch Tummel is great. Had a wee walk by there after i was at Schiehallion a few years ago. How heavy was your pack this time, Looked as if you had hauf a hoose in that tent lol!

    • @ScotsWildcamper
      @ScotsWildcamper  7 років тому +2

      I had a full 105l pack , 40l holdall and 2 poly bags of stuff lol , i knew it was a car camp Peter. I think next time there its a great place for my yet to be used canoe. Back out with Billy this winter so should get some climbs done. Atb.

      Was going to upload this in 4k but didn't think the footage was good enough maybe next trip. Need to remember when i've got a manual lens on thats why campfire footage is out of focus.

    Beautiful campsite next to the stream and loch with the autumn trees in the background Eddie! Nothing wrong with a laid-back lazy outing. Tent looked nice, even the organized mess looked good. Do you get less condensation with the tee-pee? As always, I'm looking forward to the "next one!" Take care, Ossie

    • @ScotsWildcamper
      @ScotsWildcamper  7 років тому

      I needed a lazy one Ossie but i'm ready to stretch the legs again now. I never noticed any condensation but time will tell. Another few reloads before i'm out next week , i'm enjoying these re-dos i know some people have seen them all before but most people haven't. ATB !!

    Nice spot that. I've been eyeing one of those wikiups for a while now .After the new one i need a better quality one with the same sort of room . They're not a bad weight either . Either one of those or a Duplex for next year i hope .Cheers Eddie.

      Its a great size for 1 Austin , took abit of time to set-up , you need to get the height of the pole right but once you get that done its easy ( i've forgotten already lol ). Good for 1 man and his dog i would say , very light for its size and touted strength , i'll be testing it this winter. ATB A & L
