@@SugarcatPlays There is a guy on UA-cam called Howard Ho who does incredibly intricate analysis of Hamilton mainly concentrating on the score. He's fascinating and will give you different ways in when you do your own deep dive. I recommend "How Hamilton Makes You Cry" parts 1 through 4 first.

"holy crap" is probably the most adequate reaction to this song. it's simply INCREDIBLE, and renee's performance is simply oustanding, even as per the Hamilton standards.
The point of Hamilton not telling Angelica right away where he's from is he's an immigrant and poor and if he tells Angelica, her being a Schuyler, a rich man's daughter, she may end the conversation right there and leave. (At least that would be the proper and/or expected edicate in the 1700s)

I'm a year late seeing your review of "Satisfied", but the sadness on your face when you finally realized that this song was Angelica's point of view, I got choked up. For that short moment I wanted to hold you like a mom holds her child while comforting them and telling them everything s ok. I have seen so many reaction videos to Hamilton but I have never felt "sad" for the person giving the reaction video. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME??!!

No it’s because she was from a well known wealthy family, the eldest daughter and he was a poor immigrant lol that’s literally the base of the play. In the 1700s Angelica would have been expected to stop talking to Alexander when she found out he was worth nothing.

The first time I watched satisfied I couldn’t believe what I saw for next 10 mins. I can’t imagine what people in the actual theatre would have felt. It’s an insane piece of theatricality!!!

I saw this for the first time live on Broadway 3 weeks ago. Even before the song started, I had already sensed some vibes between Angelica and Alexander and was wondering what was going on there. This song was everything I could have wished for! It instantly became my favourite part of the musical. And yes, I was crying by the end of it.

I have to admit that Lin's taking license here as Angelica was already married at this point (and they had brothers) is ok with me as it sets this up perfectly. Renee is so 👏

What I love about this song, is that because of the way she sings it’s almost like she’s screaming her heart out to the skies.
I generally have a rule not to listen to soundtracks from Broadway shows that I haven't seen yet. But I had my Pandora Broadway list playing one day, and I was unable to skip so I heard 2 Hamilton songs. One was Right Hand Man. The other was Satisfied.
Between Renee's amazing and emotional voice, her incredible pace, and the story that played out in the song, I was hooked. I went home and listened to the whole show. Been a huge fan ever since, still haven't seen it on stage, though of course I watched it on D+.

I remember seeing hamilton for the first time and simply loving this song in particular because I were once in Angelica's position and it jsut really hit me in the feels
I was just like you when listening to this song for the first time with the lyrics in mind.
It was so nice experiencing that 'first time' feeling again through you. On top of that, we are both so impressed with the shape her voice takes - out and up! Beautiful!

When I first saw this performance on Disney+ I actually hated Eliza during Satisfied because I thought she took Alexander away from Angelica…..of course I had only seen it once at that point, and didn’t know the true history. It turns out….The ball that they were at, wasn’t even the first time that they met, and Angelica (who was married with two kids by time Alex and Eliza met) didn’t met him until the wedding, and didn’t introduce them. Apparently when they first met, it was at a dinner party hosted by Eliza’s aunt that her father was in attendance for as well, and Alexander just so happened to be there…..they became smitten with each other and after a couple of weeks they got married which makes sense for why in Helpless, the storyline of them meeting, writing letters and getting married happened very fast, because it pretty much did. In Helpless, Eliza jokes that Angelica wanted to form a harem between the 3 of them (Angelica and Alexander sent flirtatious letters to each other, and might’ve possibly had an affair but there’s no factual proof) but because Angelica in the musical and in real life was the oldest….she had to marry wealthy, while her siblings could marry whoever they wanted…..So I guess Lin decided to play on that whole situation for more drama to make it seems like Angelica wanted Alexander but couldn’t have him (it’s also worth noting that Alex and Angelica might’ve logically been a better couple since they had the same mindset and she often helped him with his political work, and she was also very bold, and headstrong which was made obvious from how Renee played her, while Eliza before even meeting Alex….was more so shy and not as bold as Angelica) however….I think it’s very touching to know that Eliza and Alexander had 8 kids….the oldest: Phillip Hamilton, and their first and oldest daughter….Angelica Hamilton (named after Angelica Schuyler…I think she was named after her in homage of the love that Eliza had for Angelica, and of course the possible feelings that Angelica had for Alex) Also….Alexander, Eliza, and Angelica are all buried in Trinity Church Cemetery right here in NYC.

Have you had a look at Six the Musical or Beetlejuice the Musical? Both are pretty great, and while neither have a published proshot there’s plenty of footage both published and bootleg. And of course animatics, but then you miss out on the choreography (not to mention the phenomenal set design and lighting of Beetlejuice).
I haven't! I loved Beetlejuice as a kid though! I'd love to see the musical!
