    Mr. Keith, I've just received my ielts score. I got an 8 in speaking and an overall band 8 (L-9, R-8.5, W- 7, S-8). Let me tell you, I can't explain how much your videos helped me out! In every single part and in every single question! I was really afraid of speaking because I haven’t spoken conversational English in a while, but thanks to you I was quick on my feet!
    My part-2 topic was -describe a time when you heard a loud noise. (Which you touched upon in your part-2 events template).
    Again, thank you so much sir!
    Much love,
    Tahura

    • @marybrown2723
      @marybrown2723 4 роки тому +3

      @@rubyjendek1961 yeah, be attentive!
      1. Highlight key words near the gaps. Usually it’s useful to highlight numbers (percentages) as well. They’re always the same and you will not skip them and therefore you’ll know where you’re now
      2. Do not think about the answer for a question you missed during the recording! You’ll miss the others!
      3. Check your spelling. This is relevant
      I used to make these mistakes during my preparation “Top soil” (Topsoil is correct) or (Bad rock instead of Bedrock 😅) “Month” instead of months.
      So be attentive and learn the spelling!
      4. Check the order of questions! Where they’re located on the list. I almost missed the answer because of their stupid order!
      5. Be attentive to “no more than ONE word or THREE words” inscriptions.
      Sometimes they might trick you! You write “carbonate” but the answer is “calcium carbonate”. Or you may have written “water” but the answer is “still water”. So write more words during the recording! (And then you’ll see what to fill in) And check the previous word! Sometimes people repeat it unconsciously. For instance calcium is written and they only need to fill in carbonate.
      I think that’s all actually :)

    You are an excellent teacher, Keith. In my opinion, those who get band 6.5 in the real test are actually band 7 level students. Back at home, they could talk fluently but during the real exam condition, for a few, candidates feel that it is stressful and some stumble or hesitate during speaking for no reason. First, confidence should be instilled in minds of pupils.

    I have had my speaking test today! Omg. My examiner was asking me questions quite a lot. I think she thought I memorized my answers. My questions were related to films and film industry. Plus about my job, age, my future plans.
