As hard as it may sound you can plan for the recession. If you are working, find extra work and get an Invest--advisor. Protect your deposits by having enough cash in short term fixed income. Then cut your expenses. Minimal insurance, cut utilities.

It's often true that people underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they feel the negative effects of emotional decision-making. I remember a few summers ago, after a tough divorce, when I needed a boost for my struggling business. I researched and found a licensed advisor who diligently helped grow my reserves despite inflation. Consequently, my reserves increased from $275k to around $750k.

I'm doing well as a dog walker/ pet sitter thus far and it's getting even better. Go figure.
But, I'm not married and have no dependants; except a couple of rescue pups. I took care of my mom and dad and their property for years.
So, now my parents are gone and I'm healthy... knock on wood...
At 68 I have been gladly doing this pet gig career for over 40 years! I drive a 2002 Tundra truck. Pay $52.50 for insurance that includes a Northstar Truck Camper. I bought it new during the PLANDEMIC... I had a Prius, but decided to sell it sadly, but I love my trucks!
They help people and haul hay etc.
I had it completely restored. Runs great!
I saw what we were going to go through back in the day. Call it premonition, but I needed to guard myself regardless of what people and family said and became a minimalist.
Dan, we owned a FINE restaurant for years on the beach and began to realize that people EAT ...THEY DON'T DINE... It's a different world now!
Most little communities and neighborhoods used to be so cute and clean. I walk by now and they look like crap. Homes are dilapidated and their yards untouched. No one seems to care anymore. Perhaps, that's why the HOA has so much control?

This guy definitely didn't wash his hands, and he was touching his dread locks to get them out of his eyes so he could see the cash register. I’m a veteran of the hospitality industry of 40 years. This trend has been happening for the past ten years, it’s only now very visible in the economy. This will have very serious implications for the economy for decades to come. It’s a foundational strata of our economy and it’s no longer viable to function.
There are self driving trucks carrying merchandise across the country as we speak, driven by robots. We’re in the fourth Industrial Revolution, one of AI and robotics taking over human jobs. The next shift will be Universal basic income because jobs are no longer available in both white and blue collar jobs, medical and legal industries, restaurants, all brick and mortar stores, government, transportation, etc.

When restaurants slow down or close, the food that normally would go to them is re-routed to other businesses, including grocery stores. Those meals will be eaten in homes instead of in a restaurant. Do you remember during the shut-down when restaurants were closed, along with conferences, parties, churches, etc. where food is served? That food, if you recall, was sent instead to stores. Products not seen before appeared in huge amounts in the cold cases, on the shelves, etc. and often were sold in very large quantities. That was at the beginning. It took time for these restaurant suppliers to be able to repackage this food for store consumption, and there are licenses that must be gotten to make the switch. When restaurants opened up again, they returned to normal distribution. The point I am trying to make is that if I eat lunch out every day at a restaurant and then than restaurant closes down, I'm going to eat. Whether I go to another restaurant each day or eat at home, I still am eating the available food. We underestimate our ability to morph into new supply chains and new distribution systems. But we did that before, and we may have to do it again, but for different reasons. Stores are getting more into prepared meals now. They are cheaper than restaurants, and take little trouble to pop into the oven or microwave. Take the food to the beach, to the park, to a friend's house - whatever, if you want to just get out of the house. Or invite some people over, and you can still socialize. Everything is simply too expensive these days.

A lot of people 26 or 40 are not even buying groceries. They are buying noodles or going to food banks. Restaurants will continue to close. BUT we have had a glut of food services vying for our food budget. To predict where the industry is going to equalize is hard to guess since most analysts are too cautious in their estimates of how bad things will be in general. I think the independent Ma and Pa places will be the first to re-open once the local demand is figured out.

Pizza Hut! Dang, Dan that brings back so many happy memories. The guy whose yard I cut as a kid, would occasionally take me there for lunch. Shakey's Pizza was a family outing favorite of ours when I was a kid. As a teen, Pizza Inn was a Sunday night regular. I would drive to pick it up after I got my driver's license. After school, we loved Totinos frozen pizza. Now, Totinos are ridiculously expensive for what you get. Domino's was new when I was in college, but I haven't bought one in years because the quality has dropped. I learned to make pizza (sauce and dough), from watching UA-cam videos. Sit down restaurants with a server, and food we will really enjoy. Trading up, so they say. Fast food is so expensive, that swapping for a trade up makes sense. Ofcorse, I really have to be on top of the food production at home so we don't get caught out. We finally made it financially, but it will be ending, they are moving to outsourcing, and frozen product in the next couple years. That's all I should say due to contract/ silence agreement. Not surprising to see all those broken down busses in one place. Our family had an early 70's model back in the late 80's. Treasured memories of always being stranded with a blown engine.

Eat at home and pay off your debts, restaurant expansion was fuelled by consumer debt. 😊

Thank you for showing more of the VW’s.
Many people can not see beyond what is obvious. I told my friend in Tustin with the leaky roof about how the insurance companies are looking at roofs with drones and canceling policies, she told me not to worry, she pays her insurance every month. She also eats at Taco Bell and subway almost daily.

The USPS is Effed up. I recently refilled a prescription from my local pharmacy. I had them mail it out. It didn’t get here for a week I called they tracked it. It got rerouted through New Jersey. I live in Minnesota. Ridiculous.

The usps is the usps. Machines move the mail. They generally do a good job and they are mostly veterans.

Wow stunning display of old busses. We used to travel to Telluride Bluegrass Festival in one of those things across the Rockies. Top speed 35 mph was the best part! 😅
