This was probably one of the best TV show scenes of all time..between Ricky partying, Julian worrying, and Bubbles pissing there was so much shit going on at once
It was awesome while watching Trailer Park Boys and then hearing Ricky say "I'm gonna rock some Mitchell". Heard this plenty in the 80's coming from my brother's speakers. Bless the show for playing Kim Mitchell, April Wine, Helix, Rush...awesome!
Geez...I used to use a Paiste Signature Series 20" Bright Ride that had the dingingest bell I had ever heard...until I heard this. I WANT THIS GUY'S CYMBAL!

Say what you want about the song but 1) textbook construct 2) hard driving drum track 3) excellent amp model setup for that perfect dirt distortion It brings back the energy and sound of the glory days of stadium rock we all love
And it's not awash in a ton of reverb, doesn't have the booming cardboard-box snare tone, and the harmonies are blended perfectly. Really well done song, well produced.
This is an example of music produced when I was a teen that I am proud to admit, not a whole lot of those from the 80's. Not ones that could get out of their own way, haha.

I had the opportunity to go to school in Erie, PA for a couple of years and the absolute best part was to listen to Q107 FM radio out of Toronto. Was truly amazing what they played ! Best of Canadian and American rock bands. In addition to hearing Kim Mitchell, they played Kick Axe, Helix and many more. This is a great tune !

That's the line I used to google search and find what Ricky was jamming so damn hard to. Ricky turned me on to this, Helix and april wine. I think I might be gay for Ricky but I would bang Lucy so that would cancel out, right?
Ever heard the other band Kim Mitchell played with? Max Webster. Check out the song Hangover!! Kim Mitchell at his best. Even Jammed with RUSH a few times. Definitely an underrated guitar player!!
In 1985, I was 12yrs old growing up on the shores of Lake Erie (in Erie, PA) across from Canada, so I heard this song on the radio.. 16 years ago I moved to FLA... Probably 3 years ago I heard this song played down here in SW FLA by a native Floridian DJ..... and by the sound, I assumed it was "Southern Rock... '80s style.." Awesome song... I never would have guessed that Kim Mitchell was from Canada.
I was 8yrs old in '85 growing up on the shores of Lake Erie (Buffalo, NY) also across from Canada. Took the Americana over to Crystal Beach in Ridgeway several times every summer until the park's closing in '89....Awesome song by Canuck Kim M., one of a few great contributions to humanity made by Canada, along with Rush, Moosehead Lager, Bob & Doug Mackensie, Terence & Philip, and Tim Horton.
kris6694 I grew up in Detroit and of course we heard all the Canadian stuff too. We used to jam this loud, I have memories of this blaring in the boat, partying and water skiing on the river...good times!
If you lived in Dallas in the 80's and listened to KZEW and Q102, you were blessed, for they did play this song in heavy rotation, and lo, and behold, it rocketh. Nobody brought me here except my memories of this great track.
Always have great flashbacks when listening to this track! Remember the first time I heard it on 93.3 WMMR out of Philly.... Wish I could go back for sure, it was a great time in my life.
I had a Galien Kreuger 1200W head that I ran through twin JBL 4530"s. The thunder of this bass line was (albeit fairly staightforward) enough to blast glasses off the tables. People told me they could feel the bass in their chests. This was an AWESOME song in its day !!!!!!
My dad listened to this song when I was a kid (early 2000s), then I heard it on Trailer Park Boys twenty years later and was like HOLY SHIT YES! Love you dad.
The guitar work in this is MUCH better than most people give it credit for! The bass guitar and ride cymbal dominate your ears but the originality in the "derivative" guitar work is actually excellent!

One of the best party songs ever. The fact that it was in Trailer Park Boys makes it even better.

Long time fan of Death. I had a friend who could slay a guitar like Chuck, but he switched to a six string bass.
Death metal and some Kim Mitchell. Looks like a true music connoisseur to me
Yet m.a.d.d. made it their theme because it's perceived as an anti party song
nice profile pickture. Rick jefrey and kim mitchell kicks ass like death
“Little bit of both Ricky, Combo”.

One of the greatest riffs ever written. One of the best strat tones ever recorded. Perfect rock song. Kudos, KM...
