Never gave Kim much thought, then one day I stumbled across Max Webster on UA-cam. What a crime it was that that band never took off outside Canada. Kim Mitchell should have been a household name in the 70s and a legend by the 80s
Such a great song, and can we give it up for Chris Sutherland on the drums real quick? I love a drummer who just lays it down perfectly, with a great sound and intensity!
@@TommyWashow That's so good to hear, I really enjoyed seeing Kim with Pete Thorn Stream, was such a Kool dude would love to see him live, Go 4 A Soda, was 1st time I heard Kim, I was like wear did this come from as I have a great spot between Nashville and Muscle Shoals,AL. So many folks have record there, but after being around Pete's Stream has showed me R so much Talent we just don't hear from in South but R&R in south is sometimes not reach out far, but thanks 4 sharing & Rock is alive in Canada!!!
who the hell are the eight unfortunate souls who had to give a thumbs down to this? They must be beating up small animals for fun instead..... That's just sad.
Leave Han Halen out of this, as much as I love VH, In this instance they do NOT compare to the work, or craftsmanship to what Edward has created... given said... Peter Fredette DOES have the same Bass and Harmonies as Michael Anthony... yes, I will give you that...
Thank You for this video!! Unfortunately, I have never seen Max Webster/Kim Mitchell performing live. I think they only came to Europe once, in 1979, touring a double concert/support act on the RUSH hemispheres tour. My first RUSH show was back in 1979, aged 15, at the PINKPOP festival in Holland, Max Webster didn't play there. Boy, would I have loved to see Max Webster live on stage!
I lived in Corpis Christy Texas when this song came out in the mid 80s and I loved it then and still LOVE it today. But the sad thing is when I moved back north I never heard it again must have been a song from the south that's the only place I remember hearing it was in Texas Good thing I bought the album back then.
Teenage anxiety 70s max webster, Rush had our backs in an unsure future. But here we are listening 50 years later, art never ages just let's the next age know ,we were hear we existed. Don't fuck it up like we did, and rock on.
@@astark7439 Wow! I missed that. Kim Mitchel played at Riverfest in my hometown. After the concert there was a car full of yahoos, one of whom craned out of the window and yelled " I am a world party!" I had to cheer him on. "Yeah, buddy!"
I remembering going to lulu 's in kit ont. think they closed the bar that night after that night.drinking pitcher of beer as my glass and almost jumped up on stage.long story super drunk.great night
Who's singing the harmonies live on stage? I think his guitar's live but I think he's lip synching to a pre-recorded audio track that includes harmony singing one guy on stage can't do alone.
The man is in his seventies and sounds as good as he ever did
he is but he was 57 in the video still great
My new favorite song of the 80's! Thanks Rickey for jammin this at your camp out. Saw the 8-track and thought man I gotta google this Kim Mitchell...

Dude, I came here to write the same exact shit!! lol
Just spoke to Kim Mitchell on the phone. Super wonderful man. He donated to Sickkids foundation xo

This song is just so fun and wholesome. No wonder we don't hear it on the radio.

Thank you Canada. For the Hip too. And my girlfriend. Love, Mike in Tampa
This is an insanely clean live performance
I have been listening to this guy since I was14 and he still sounds great after all these years .
Kim Mitchell has the best sound man ever. All his mixes sound so bright and defined
even on this shoddy recording that is clear.
Such a great song, and can we give it up for Chris Sutherland on the drums real quick? I love a drummer who just lays it down perfectly, with a great sound and intensity!
Superb musicians...great rockin' tune '84 era...still loved today. 🎸🇨🇦👏

🤘🏻🎶🎶🥁🎤🎤🎤🎸🎸🎹🎶🎶🎶🤘🏻
who cares about the lights , listen to him flawless.
Dude is a really good guitarist and his singing isn't half bad either. Reminds me of the Tubes a little bit.
This song needs far more airplay on American Rock radio. Just don't hear it enough.
That's so true, I have not heard it on my local Radio sence the 80's. A song that I live by, still got it Kim,,n
@@Ryan-Hall still played twice a day on every station in ontario regardless of genre

Killer song and the drums sound beast!
San Diego checkin in. How did this band miss me all these years. CANADA I LOVE YOU
To me, these 2 guys singing are like David Lee Roth and Michael Anthony of Van Halen -- they sound perfect together.
Leave Han Halen out of this, as much as I love VH, In this instance they do NOT compare to the work, or craftsmanship to what Edward has created... given said... Peter Fredette DOES have the same Bass and Harmonies as Michael Anthony... yes, I will give you that...
What a piece of artwork I love this song and I crank it when it's on the radio

Great jam !!! I crank it in my pickup
Finally a live drummer that understands tempo. Very cool
Coachlight Roller Skating Rink, St.Charles, Mo. I was there in the early 80's when this song was playing. And my girl on Fox Hill.
Saw Kim Mitchell at Cardi's in Houston back when this song came out. I didn't go for a soda, I went for alcohol, and lots of it.
still sounded so so good
great recording. thank you!
Should be the new Canadian National Anthem! Can't beat a little Kim Mitchell or Max Webster to blow away the blues!
Here's a national anthem: "Go to Canada" ua-cam.com/video/Uwc4ADG6wLw/v-deo.html
