But i really dont like all the ascension shit, world can be a cursed place were live (as rain world is), but the alternative of live on a void place with no other thing to do is some what like a limbo that yourself throw at it. But eventually all the iterators fall and let the other species a place to thrive in peace.
It's great to see that the survivor and monk end up reunited but my headcannon was that the monk and survivor went the whole journey together, as you can see in the monk's intro that they were never far from each other when he dove in, only a couple meters.
I'm pretty sure void/ascension means that they can literally live out their dreams, like their truly desire. Hunter - return to his Iterator's arms. Survivor - met his family/kinds once again. Artificial - meet her kids before it being ended shortly and she returns as a normal slugcat or an echo. ect.
This. I do get why they'd want to see the scugs reunited in the "real" world, but this just feels so fanservice-y and unnecessary, especially considering that their original endings (that are still the canon ones in my eyes) were already pretty good

I personally just like the option to break the cycle of asension. As the gourmand ending was, were you don't need to be dead to be happy. I started playing when downpour was released, therefor, all i know is downpour. So from the perspective of someone who didn't play the game when you could only ascend, having the other option is nice? Idk. Word.
Or maybe the worms just make you hallucinate that for about 5 minutes before devouring you as part of their hunting tools, and then you experience nothing. You have no idea. We DO know that living in the real world can indeed make you happy.
While I love all endings, there’s just something so fulfilling seeing survivor find a family and Monk reuniting with them, it always makes me cry but then again most of the endings do ahaha
Well counting slugpups are pretty much lost kids We can assume the following scene "Uhh they are not mine" "They who are they from" "Idk I found them lost" Pup: "mom told me to wait by a shelter then 9 cycles passed and she didn't came back" His mom meanwhile: "what do you mean my sister's kids passed by here?! Get your little cameras to search for them I need to find them before my sister gives up and takes a bath into turbo acid!"
perhaps it was gourmand who led them into the wilderness after his scout, showing them the ins and outs of how to survive, as they slowly dispersed over time
It is mentioned in the dev commentary that Gourmand told alk the slugcats living at the tree about the far away territories with all the interesting foods, so they decided to migrate

But i still would like to tell you, that it's not truly good ending, survivor still haven't seen his family, and probably never will now. Maybe void sea had some kind of bad theories that he actually doesn't meet anybody because it's probably his hallucinations, but he still meets them, and after that he finally sees his brother. So, ascension ending wasn't quite bad (?)
I think this is the good ending,I know they will reincarnate until their universe ceases to exist or something like that but they are just animals,they just want to survive,the slugcats ascended just because FP told them to do it

there is actually a difference if you bring slug pups with you or without to the tree, without them the survivour is just alone in all of these screens, but its sort of doesnt make sence if you do that cause the monks cutsceen doesnt change if you had pups as survivour or not
Gosh if only you could ascend with slugpups. Then the void ending would be the ultimate family reunion. (i tried doing that with hunter and the guardians murdered the little one, it was heartbreaking)

@@simoch1624 Well I don't think I will be making a video but I can tell you how you can get it easily. Firstly, I would suggest starting a Gourmand Playthrough and finishing it since Gourmand is the first slugcat who can enter Outer Expanse Region where the tree is located and after you get the ending with Gourmand you can enter Outer Expanse with Survivor and Monk.(Also there is a food quest for Gourmand that requires you to eat various sources of food which unlocks slugpups for future runs with Hunter and Survivor.)

@@BrotherLongLegs8 If you don't complete the 'shopping list' before reaching the tree, the ending only shows how the hibernation images you see as Gourmand were them teaching the others by drawing illustrations. Completing the shopping list adds onto this by showing Gourmand coming with armfuls of different kinds of food before the rest of the tribe decide to migrate to this rich new land.
I have a few theories to tie into this that slugcats are like snails and slugs when it comes to mating. Along the journey maybe after survivor visited moon and pebbles they "self-inseminated" because they wanted a family more than anything and their goal after the births were try to go back to the slugcat tree where he lived since they don't want to ascend because they had a reason to live now. Monk may have lagged 1-2 cycles at first which only got bigger after every region as he spent more time looking around the regions and monk was canonically the one who helped moon get more neurons and her robe back which may have added a good 10 cycles atleast to their gap and maybe monk stayed with moon for a bit but ultimately decided to go back to the outer expanse because he had given hope looking for his brother at this point and was greeted with what he wanted the most

@@PingachuWarham the internet is at your fingertips, dude. slugs and snails both possess male and female gametes--as in every individual has both. in perfect conditions they will seek a partner to reproduce with because genetic variation is healthy for a species, but a single individual can, and will, reproduce on its own if no partners are available.
There are some people that think this ending breaks the original message of the game, but I’d say it enhances it. My understanding of cycles is that Survivor wants is to find their old family, but it’s an impossible goal and so they suffer in a repeating cycle as they constantly try to reach it. By returning to the tree with slugpups, Survivor is letting go of their old family and accepting their new one, breaking the cycle by letting go of attachments that only cause suffering. This is why I personally like this ending more because it feels much more real answer on how to let go.

Ive been playing Rain World since around the time it came out. Its so amazing that we are able to see survivors home, 6 years after the games original release. Its also amazing that this time around, there are plenty of other people playing this game at the same time 😊 For real, the games recent popularity is insane. I mentioned it in casual conversation with someone, and they knew what the game was (likely through some recently very popular youtube videos). I can remember when i brought the game up a few years back, and was promptly ridiculed being told its a stupid and boring looking game. Now people finally appreciate it for what it is.
If you pay attention to the scenes where the slugpup grabs the blue berry in survivor's and monk's ending, you can see that monk came after survivor arrived
That empty look on the Survivor's face when he gets to the tree gets me. It makes the Monk's ending all the more heartwarming

You got to get to Outer Expanse region with Gourmand to unlock the region for Survivor and Monk. If you do the Gourmand food quest you unlock puppies.

First you need play and beat gourmand's playthrough then you can access the region with Monk and Survivor.

First you need to unlock the region and you do that by beating Gourmand's timeline after that you can go to region with tree as Monk/Survivor.
