Handyman, I just wanted to say thanks for your channel. I have been worked as an exterminator for the past few years, and the company got bought out and went to shit. Myself and my supervisor are really handy guys, and we decided we were fed up and wanted to work for ourselves. We started our handyman/home improvement LLC, got our business accounts set up, and we just cleared $2,200 at our first job. The feeling is absolutely amazing to be working for ourselves, having happy customers, and not dealing with corporate shit. We are gonna keep it as a weekend/offtime business for at least another month or two, but then we're flipping off the boss and cleaning out our trucks. Your advice and videos 100% helped us make this decision.

I usually sand, primer, then touch up any imperfections instead of hitting the obvious spots prior to primer. I find it saves me a step and after priming those imperfections stand out and its easier to find them.

Lesson I learned the hard way, make sure when you paint the ceiling you go with the direction of the light coming through the window or else you will see the paint strokes. With the paint, not the primer. Also, applying drywall sealer before the primer helps too and prevents the bleed through.

Is it really asbestos? I think it's just cellulose. But, if popcorn texture was made of vermiculite, then it could contain asbestos because the vermiculite mine in Montana (until 1990) was contaminated with asbestos. It was never intended to be added, it was just a by-product from the mine source.

HandyMan......shameful video......it was ALMOST perfect. And then....you teased the TURBO WHISTLE 3 times! And the people got left YET AGAIN with NO TURBO WHISTLE. Video was very good....until you left the populous starving for what they need. TURBO. WHISTLE. It must be done. TURBO WHISTLE. OTHERWISE another great skill review.

“Other than putting mustard on it, there’s nothing else to say.” Priceless.
People here in Calgary pay BIG $ to remove popcorn ceilings that have asbestos in them. I’ve long wondered if it’s being over-hyped.

I love the videos. Just started watching a few weeks ago. What is the 3rd channel that I’ve heard reference of. I see the main channel and the business channel but that’s it. Thanks :)

Great video. One tip is that deep holes will take several passes with drywall mud since it shrinks and cracks as it evaporates, plus takes a long time to fully evaporate if thick. Faster is an initial fill with Plaster of Paris. It is a chemical reaction with water, similar to Portland Cement in concrete. It reacts fast and doesn't shrink. Downside is you have

Don’t whistling!!! It’s annoying!Stop with the fast forward. You could have cut about half of this video and been a lot better. Stop with the corny comments.. however, good information and good result.

My house was built in 1977 and the guy is going to remove my popcorn we’re not doing a test although we should probably do so after he’s done with popcorn removal.. and if there was the possibility that you had asbestos how long should I wait to go back into the house and why should I do next test that air quality?☺️
