So basically level 3999 is one of the only levels with an exit to reality in some canons, but the actual last level never happens in the canon I believe in, in other canons the last level is 999 or its a lot of numbers. (Edit: I don’t really believe in a true canon but I just like a specific canon, so if you have a different canon don’t tell me that the one with a lot of numbers it the true end because there isn’t a “true” canon) (Edit 2: Wow i just saw saw a reply that said there was like a billion exits what the heck happened to the fandom why are there so many exits.) Edit 3: I think that the infinite levels but no true exit is cooler than 999 levels now.

Idea for jumpscare animations: The Howlers could simply tear off 1-2 of your limbs, the partygoers stick their hands to your neck and you just die, this is because in lore the party goers have mouths at the end of their hands and they use these to turn survivors into partygoers. Smilers could just eat you. Maybe have scratchers just push you to the floor and scratch at you a bunch. I understand if you don't really want to focus on the jumpscare but it could add some nice variety.
Idea regarding guns: Silent Hill Approach. Have them few and far between. Also tease the players with guns that are often entirely empty. You can also make it that players can only carry 1 gun at a time (no pockets on those hazmat suits) and FURTHER torment them by having various types of guns (from different eras) with incompatible ammo. Then, by the time the players get a full clip, they're going to treat every shot like it's their retirement fund.
You could have them as a last resort as well, maybe they attract more entities but they get one off your back for a couple of seconds. It would be amusing if you could find different ammo around, so you'd always be kicking yourself about not having kept x gun.
If it took 2-3 shots to kill most entities, it would be even more a last resort But it should probably bring like every entity in the level to the place where the gun was fired

I think that it would be cool to have multiple ways to escape, with each one having their own little cutscene or something. So, for example, if you manage to escape before level 3999 (this number could change) you would get a vague ending, that gives closure, but leaves some loose ends untied. If you escape through level 3999, it would be a happy ending, but maybe have the ending hint at the idea that there was more. Then, if you escape at level 9 quintillion (I'm not typing all that out) you would get the best ending. Idk it seems cool and an incentive to actually play this amazingly high quality game
i think 3999 should be the best ending not the last level because 3999 is very hard to enter and you have to go through difficulty 4-5 levels to even get there
Suggestion: Make more minor levels and more less detailed safe levels, and randomize which room goes to what and make run! Go exclusively to a safe level.
As a Backrooms enjoyer, i want to say, that there`s actually 3 final levels: - Level 922337203685477580; pass 5000 stairsteps and jump into the void - Level 3999 (The True Ending); complete some specific tasks and escape to reality via double glass doors. (in wikidot ver. of Backrooms you don`t have to do any tasks tho, so... yeah) - Level 998 (Zenith) and Level 999 (The Void Island); reach 3rd area in Level 998, die, find yourself on Level 999, repent for your sins, wake up. (These levels are actually getting a rewrite, so the information about them here might turn out to be outdated)
There is another: Level 9223372036854775810, it is a museum of every backrooms level which is thought you can find an earth section and if you no - clip through the painting, you will a appear in a random place in reality ( On Earth of course )
from what I've seen, level 3999 is a level where you have to do certain things on a checklist and you're given a button to teleport back to 3999, if you drop the button or list they teleport back to you and 3999 is a safe level itself the checklist consists of things like Kill a howler or smth in the pool rooms.
I love this game, it's just this is almost exactly like a backroom game idea I wanted to make. I'm salty to find someone beat me to it, but it's looking great and I can't wait for full release.
Finally someone who knows how to acutally update a game and not destroy it unlike 90% of other developers. I'm so happy I played your game in early access, when the fun room was super hard with my friends. I can see an immense progress compared to the last time I played it. It's even more fun now! Even some of the movement animation bugs are a feature to me. They're so funny :D. I love your videos, your ideas and your game! Very well done. Keep it up!
Wow, that's incredible dude! As a guy who has tried working on a Backrooms game myself, I can tell you it takes a lot of work and dedication to keep up with the demand (and mine was only in 2D)! Good luck on the game dude! Don't feel pressured to make more updates btw, I'd be down to see some non-Backrooms videos from time to time :)
i would like to see a zen mode like a mode with no entities for those who want stay in some levels and vibe it would be pretty nice but non the less good luck with the game and i will definetly buy it
Fancy made an announcement about a WIP level only yesterday, so rest assured he hasn't given up!!! For anyone who's curious regarding his lack of posts, he probably just extremely busy.
Hey, I would recommend adding npcs such as MEG and others in the levels 5 and 2 because they add a lot to the story and can give lore or sanctuary to the players
@@peentz only in levels like 2 and 5 which aren't really meant to be scary because the npcs have made small bases as rest spots throughout the levels. They could also be used as a save spot or a menu for the game
From my experience, the end is a trap, and 3999 allows you to complete tasks, such as killing an entity, and once you finish them all, you can finally escape to the string of numbers, and escape.
And imagine a multiplayer massive server, like an MMO where every single player is in a massive Backrooms world, even if they never run into each other, they might. With proximity chat that would be sick!
Suggestion: Make point indicators. For example, if you can't use proximity chat or you want to point out something in the area. It will greatly help with communication.
I mean, honestly a classic survival horror style backrooms game would be awesome, and I’m not talking about some shit like amnesia or outlast, that’s just spooky hide and seek. I’m talking about something like resident evil or silent hill. Where supplies like healing items and ammo are scarce so you have to think about what you’re gonna do. Should you try and sneak away from this enemy, outrun it? Or fight. If you fight, should you use range or melee. All these choices create a sense of uncertainty and uncertainty in a life or death situation creates fear.
I think 3999 could be used to as a hub like a safe zone then do certain things in certain levels and once that is done return to 3999 and then escape Edit: I know lots about the backrooms and enjoy the lore
With the idea of a gun honestly how I imagined it was it has limited ammo, staggers the entity a bit so you can make a getaway, and since it's loud other entities might hear you which I feel like could make it a valuable yet risky resource along with any bullets you find lying around
Here's an idea: There are various levels that contain exits back into the front rooms, level 3999 being one of the most well-known and canonically safest. Why not make level 3999 the main ending and explore the possibilities for other 'secret/alternative endings' to the game via other more obscure levels. Tie some achievements to them and you will also create a lot of replayability for your game. Level 3999 would also be fun to act as a sort of 'hub' where players can play the arcade machines as a reward for finishing the game. Or a place from which you can start a 'new game plus' or nightmare mode after a first playthrough.
I think that once you reach level 3999 you should find a list of (dangerous, because it's the end of the game, it's not supposed to be easy) tasks to do in a lot of levels of the Backrooms, like idk stealing a ballon in level fun, for example. And once you do all the tasks you should go back to level 3999 and exit the Backrooms
I like thinking of the backrooms as infininte and ever expanding because some entity's that were born during it's creation were put in charge of the floors and making them. The higher the entity in charge of the floors power is, the high the difficulty or danger of the level. It adds a fun twist that is somewhat believable and fun. It is basically the same thing from the novel on wattpad called "Solo Levelling in the backrooms" it actually has a very fun couple of twists that makes it interesting, enjoyable, and unique.
The real exit level is Level 3999. Basically, Arcade with exit, you get into level. you see sheet with tasks, you take sheet and complete tasks. You go to exit, and it opens and you leave. Please, stop commenting im tired of replying to EVERYTHIIIIIIING IM GOING INSANEEEEEEEEEEEEE Edit 2. Please shut the fuck up everyone and let me exist in peace, im done with this comment, Yes i know i had written Level-3999, I DIDN'T MEAN IT AS IN -3999 I WROTE IT LIKE THAT BECAUSE IM AN IDIOT, YES EXITTING TROUGH THIS LEVEL MAY BE JUST A THEORY, NO I DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR HATE COMMENTS ABOUT IT, KEEP YOUR MOUTHS SHUT IM NOT RESPONDING NO MORE.
@@jampacchannel6936 Just search for the damn Level. The tasks are different, such as killing an entity, Eating a certain amount of food and stuff like that, and can vary from tasks, wich doing all can take from minutes to years.
The main one is through a random spawning elevator in level 933(a bunch of numbers) which can take you to paradise which is like earth but you can actually leave to go back home
This is looking amazing bro. Ima try and get some guys together and give this a whirl. If you do add vr support, would perhaps a quest 2 port be on the horizon?
Honestly I really want to see this game as it develops. Every backrooms game I've ever played is just running through level 0 or 1 and it's boring. I want to see different rooms and entities, peaceful and hostile. I want to have items and an inventory and play with people in a world I cam get immersed in. There's so much potential in the backrooms and I'm so happy to finally see a game that actually looks like something worth playing. Please keep it up man, as a gamer I can't express my gratitude enough for what you're doing.
Idea for dedicated servers: Maybe add a tool for early access players so that they can make their own dedicated servers.Or maybe your already planning of doing that, but one thing is for sure.. you can save money with it.
And imagine a multiplayer massive dedicated server, like an MMO where every single player is in a massive Backrooms world, even if they never run into each other, they still could. With proximity chat that would be sick!
I am genuinely stoked to hear that the game will support vr! Will this include full body tracking, and how will it be implemented with mechanics like the stun punch?
I mean, if you wanted to add guns, you could add them in with both a durability system, and a jam chance. As well as finding ammo only on specific levels. All so that it makes players really think about the odds before the fire off. Along side that, much like them hearing voices, you could make it so that entities would prioritize anyone who fires a gun. It can save you in one situation, sure. But it puts you in an arguably worse situation. Another thing you COULD do is add melee weapons that can stun entities. Like a bat or pipe, but it requires good timing to use.
There is not an actual confirmed last lvl, only theories and hypothesis about which ones can get you to the frontrooms. My suggestion is to go watch some of brookli's backrooms explained videos from his backrooms playlist and more specifically his video on how to escape the backrooms, this how I've learned most about the backrooms I know, I think it will be really helpful for u too
@@LineOfThy The commenter is saying the game shows an "ending level" and claiming that its not a real exit. I am asking if they have seen the ending, which proves that the last level of the game is not an exit to the backrooms.
When designing a back rooms game, it really is a subject with limitless potential given just how many levels there are in the canon lore My favourites are levels 9/9.1 and the Crimson Forest, tho apparently it’s a crater now? Idk
This is amazing! Plus I know something you can add It’s called build mode! People can create and place entity’s and BACKROOMS levels! Custom versions! And you can join there server with a server code!
I think it would be really cool if you added some entities that will take away a certain amount of the players health, not just killing it on the spot.
i just realised that me and my friend played your game like 2 days ago. it was a really great game. we only found level “the end” annoying because the AI was moving around so stiffly againts us if that makes sense, but otherwise the game looked amazing and we had a lot of fun and we LOVED the puzzle for level fun. overall rating 8/10 in my opinion.

You can't noclip to level 974 unless you have a "cute" thing that attracts kitty 5:30 also make it so when your in multiplayer when you run into someone you trip in level !
This is definitely going to be interesting, I'm glad someone decided to make a game with different levels and interesting entities, like the original backrooms, instead of just doing level 0. I know some people like level 0 for whatever reason, but it honestly gets boring after a while, when there's basically infinite levels canonically.
I recommend adding to level 94 to add the castle, the castle has alot of entities and its one of the ways you can exit out of the level apart from finding an exit in the house. there is videos all over youtube about it
There is more than one way to leave the backrooms (according to wiki) 1: find the traveler (an entity) and reply "go home" you will be in the frontrooms 2: go into door 2 in level 561 (a room with 7 doors) This is the easiest way to exit but you die a day after you exit 3: is Level 9223372036854775807 4: complete the quest given in level 3999 and leave through the glass door 5: angry the The Shepard of the Promised Land via damaging the promised land (by throwing a rock at a window) 6: There is a door labeled "exit" in the promised land and go through the door labeled exit edit:I know these are not the only ways to leave the backroom I am just too lazy to google more.

As a Backrooms enjoyer, i want to say, that there`s actually 3 final levels:
- Level 922337203685477580; pass 5000 stairsteps and jump into the void
- Level 3999 (The True Ending); complete some specific tasks and escape to reality via double glass doors. (in wikidot ver. of Backrooms you don`t have to do any tasks tho, so... yeah)
- Level 998 (Zenith) and Level 999 (The Void Island); reach 3rd area in Level 998, die, find yourself on Level 999, repent for your sins, wake up.

If fancy aka the game developer of this game adds npcs and the npcs might be annoying like the ones in Skyrim
Shut up, MEG!

From my experience, the end is a trap, and 3999 allows you to complete tasks, such as killing an entity, and once you finish them all, you can finally escape to the string of numbers, and escape.

Yeah fair enough
Here's an idea: There are various levels that contain exits back into the front rooms, level 3999 being one of the most well-known and canonically safest. Why not make level 3999 the main ending and explore the possibilities for other 'secret/alternative endings' to the game via other more obscure levels. Tie some achievements to them and you will also create a lot of replayability for your game. Level 3999 would also be fun to act as a sort of 'hub' where players can play the arcade machines as a reward for finishing the game. Or a place from which you can start a 'new game plus' or nightmare mode after a first playthrough.
Safest? 🤨
Canonically? It's not the fandom version is not cannon
