I made this for my friend in two tones (light blue for the center and "grape fizz" for the top and bottom). She loves it! Thanks for the easy-to-follow video. :)
Hi there. This is so lovely, I've made four of these now, to give my team a morale boost when the holidays are over. (We're teachers!) I've figured out a nice way to hide the join using the tail from the slip stitch top round, it looks really good. Thanks again.
That’s awesome! Did you print off my free printable card on my blog to include with them? It says, “Thanks a latte for all you do”. It’s a different cup cozy pattern but you could still use the free printable. You can find it here if you’re interested: daysck.com/crochet-for-days/carina-cup-cozy
Looks like a great pattern. I will definitely try this one. Could you tell me which stitch markers you are using? Link in description to products used isn’t working. Thanks!
To be honest, the bottom might be too tight. What I recommend is keeping the same hook size throughout and maybe trying it on the tumbler every few rounds to make sure it’s a good fit
Hello. Last week I saw some yarn similar to the yarn you’re using n it was stretchy n I was wondering what could it be used for. It’s a pretty cup holder thank you
@@DaysCrochet hi I’m in Istanbul at the moment n I can’t remember the name of the yarn. It was in a shop that sells many things for the home. I ve been very disappointed with the availability of yarn in Istanbul as they produce so much. It seems that in these stores it’s mill ends they sell but if you go to the grand bazaar, there they have a large area full of small yarn stores, but unfortunately when I went there was very little due to covid n I’ve not been back as it is far from where I’m staying
It’s much bulkier than the Bernat Home Maker yarn. I did use the Big Twist Textile yarn at first but I didn’t like it as well so I didn’t write any of the stitch counts down. I probably still used the 8 mm hook but I’m sure I started with a shorter chain. Maybe try 24 or 26?
@@robynwhitney5295 it doesn’t look terrible in the Big Twist Textile yarn! It just looked more detailed in the thinner yarn. I’ll shoot you a photo of the one I made in the textile yarn
I love the Home Dec yarn, but none of my local stores carry it anymore and it’s also been hard to find online in a neutral color. I did resort to purchasing some found on Amazon, but it was pretty pricey. Grumble! 😖 I’ve had issues with ordering online and the color not being quite like it appeared in the photos, so I like to buy locally whenever possible so I can actually see it for myself. If you do find a good sub, please share with us!! Have you tried the pattern with any other yarns?
I definitely feel your pain. Yarnspirations had their Home Maker yarn in stock in the neutrals last year and it literally sold out in less than 24 hrs😩 I cannot understand why another yard company does not come up with some competition here in the United States. I have told other yard companies about it to see if they could come up with something similar. I get no response. Anyways to answer your question, I talk about some substitutions in my blog post on my website if you want to check it out. My testers used a variety and I mentioned it there. daysck.com/crochet-for-days/the-kendall-cup-cozy
@@DaysCrochet Exactly!! JoAnn’s had Big Twist Textile which was a little thicker and I used it to make your grocery bag holder. Now THAT has been discontinued also - makes no sense to me either. I’ll definitely check the blog post - always happy to see your new patterns and videos 🥰 I was thinking of trying 2 strands of cotton…. Lol - “yard” - happens to me all the time. @@craftygal365 yes I know I was SO MAD when they discontinued that Big Twist Textile yarn! I emailed them multiple times and they just kept telling me they’d “let their team know”. Yeah right! They probably didn’t tell a soul. When I asked to speak to a manager, they flat out ignored me. I’m not trying to be an insane Karen, I am just trying to get people to understand🤣 i’m sure it has something to do with the fact that they buy the yarn from overseas and they don’t have the ability to do it any longer, but a little communication would be nice. But I digress. Two strands of cotton would probably work fine! Lol
@@DaysCrochet Yea, that “let our team know” comment is just to give us false hope that someday our favorites will come back 😂 I’ve never seen it happen, so I’m convinced those “teams” are fictional haha!

I haven't tried it with other yarns personally, but I am sure you could use a cotton. It's strange you can't find it at this time because Yarnspirations just re-released their Home Maker yarn in several new colors. I also have consistently had a lot of luck finding in on Annie's website. I hope this helps!

Hello, love your video, where can I get the lether "be kind"
You can find them and several others at angieandbritt.com
@@DaysCrochet thank you so much ❤️ I found by watching your video 🤣🤣
Can i use t shirt yarn to do this? As cotton yarn might x be stretchable
I suppose it depends on how bulky it is. It might end up being huge
When adding the faux leather handle, after sewing on what type of knot (or how) do you use to secure?
I just knot it together a bunch of times and weave in my tails really well
Would this fit on a 24oz tumbler do you think?
To be honest, the bottom might be too tight. What I recommend is keeping the same hook size throughout and maybe trying it on the tumbler every few rounds to make sure it’s a good fit
since yarn stretches out after a few uses, will chaining 36 make it tight?
The bottom is designed to be tighter than the top portion

Hi Dana, would the big twist textile work? If so, what hooks would you recommend?
