I was in a supermarket and thought I felt something and it turned out the person behind me in line had one of my locs in her hand!!😤 I've had numerous instances where people have either just gone to touch my locs or randomly just asked (despite not knowing me!) whether they can feel them. Please don't let anyone tell you anti-Black racism isn't present in UK, it is alive and kicking! I really appreciate your videos, I've had my locs for 14 years now, I love the energy you give out! The laundry mat owner got real comfortable and put hands on my locs and I pulled back with a very understandably crazy face. She instantly responds with “wow your hair is soft” I’m like “it’s my hair and I take care of it, but you shouldn’t touch it.” NOW my hair’s covered going places with people because I’m quick witted and it comes out rude but I tend to choose aggression when my personal space is violated.
To me, hair is and extension of your body. You wouldn't just walk up to a stranger and touch their breast, chest or private parts? Well, some have and have the sore cheeks to prove it. 😁 Bottom line, don't be touching on my hair. Aight.
