Finally Home Made Food ! I'm sure the taste of Home Made food is very special cause when we cook for guests we add a secret ingredient which is called Love. Hope you guys enjoyed it 🇮🇳
I think this is one of your best videos till this date. The family that invited you really made sure that you were in for a real treat. Thanks to them as well. Indians have first preference for home cooked food. We might go to restaurants, cafés, street food as our weakness, but nothing beats home cooked food. Regarding your observation about the rice, yes we don’t prefer eating Basmati rice regularly. It’s mainly used for Pulav and Biriyani where you need more grainy texture. Every state and regions of India have their own variety of rice which they use for different textures and tastes. I am glad that you got to experience this.
Wow nice to see you guys enjoy homemade food. Every homemade food of all the families for almost similar dishes taste very different and very delicious. That is the beauty of cooking with love from all the mothers and homemakers in India. Cheers.
hey chad and joy your content is unique i love it the way you describe it, much love from INDIA keep growing hope next meet in delhi if time permits so
Vow!!! Really nice that you were invited to their house and had an opportunity to eat real home cooked food. While there is no doubt that some restaurants have a nice menus and serve some great dishes, there is nothing more delicious and authentic than eating home cooked food.
This lady is an incredible cook. And these 2 Americans are really lucky to eat her preparation. Hope they went to Kayani bakery in Pune. And of course the Parsi food. If they missed it then they missed big 🤷
@@FollowMeImaFoodieIndia You guys deserve the best. I read that you might come back in January given the situation ofcourse but next time plz try sabudana wada and sabudana khichdi. It's not that well know to the world but deserves to shine. Basically preparations made with Tapioca pearls but man tastes delicious!!! 🙏🇮🇳💕
Indrani rice is a gem, it's really starchy and sticky shorter grain than Basmati but man it's so so fragrant. But you'll not use it for making biryani for the same reason. Instead have it with simpler dishes like a good dal, a nice chicken curry or mutton curry for its real fragrance to shine.
We have a small grained fragrant rice here in Bengal called "gobindobhog". It's generally used in khichdi (especially during pujo time) and paesh (kheer or payasam). I wonder if indrani rice is similar in flavour.
So happy to see you tried this! Home cooked indian meals are a lot diff then restaurant version with no BS, straight simple flavours…! Its that grounding feeling….! I travel many countries and always feel grounded the moment I'm back eating home cooked food….! 🙏🏼

Guys as you are in India I want you to have Bengali meal . Go to Bengali Restaurant not Bangladeshi but Indian Bengali . List -+- Macher Jhol, paturi, Hilsa curry ,mangsho kosha, chiken curry , muri ghonto, potoler Dorma , Alu /alu posto vaja, macher jhal ( jhal and jhol is different) , chingri macher malai curry , Bengali style Biriyani, in sweet try sondesh , chum chum, rosogolla, payesh , langcha, botfol, kalo jam, any sweet made out of sondesh. ❤️❤️ Love you . Hope you guys will do . 🙏
Maharashtrian food is some of the most complicated, certainly not as simple as adding onion tomatoes and garam masala to everything :-). Like the chicken curry they had has a masala prep of roasted coconut, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic , onions tomatoes , coriander, and whole spices. Anything more or less, even a 19 20 difference can ruin your dish . It's art in that sense. You are certainly a non marathi, who's never had real maharashtrian food in life.
That first item was something new to me also, i have never tasted it. God bless the family for the wonderful gesture. 👍🏼❤️ My favourite home dish is the dal kichadi.
Doubt if westerners would even allow entry to "Strangers" leave aside preparing all that food as welcome, big salute to your hosts, these stuff should reach the world as business , you guys can play your part 👏
That's not true. I was welcomed to a Thanksgiving dinner by a few American families when I was a student at a University. Most people are very welcoming unless you are in really big cities where people are usually too busy and stick to their own business which would probably be the case in India as well. You find all kind of people in every part of the world, just as you would find people in India who are not as welcoming as well.
There are programs in churches and communities where people drop in home cooked meals to sick and old people, or with families who just had a baby. They also have food donation programs for people who can't afford meals especially during big festivals.
This family was absolutely amazing. As far as the western world hosting strangers goes, you might be surprised. In my part of the country, we are known for hospitality!!
@@FollowMeImaFoodieIndia , Never one to generalise, people mind their own business in your part of world broadly, here they tend to go out of the way , hope you & the Lady get that,no offense meant❤️

It was perfect for us, but we will be on the look out for modak 😊 This video was about the home cooked meal/what they eat in a regular basis, more than it being only authentic Maharastian recipes.
While I love jamun and rasmalai, it would have been great though if they chose some traditional maharashtrian dessert like puran poli, ukdiche modak, karanji, Pune amba barfi etc (it's not that it's only specific to Maharashtra but extremely popular, would have been nice for you to have an experience of that.
Totally agree! The food that was served was not Maharashtrian. Puran poli, Modaks, shrikhand should be there. And with traditional Alu bhaji, poli/poori shud have been there. Also, Rangoli around the dish would have made the meal much better.
Also, since when does chole bhature come under Maharashtrian cuisine??? They could have made jwari chi bhakri, pithla, vangyacha rassa, thecha. So many real Marathi food items and they served chole bhature..
Paan is not just a digestive, it is also a mouth fresher - sweet pan will have beetle leaves, Gulkan ( Rose paste meant for good digestion), beetle nuts ( not is Gulkan pan), camphor ( which gives the inscent smell, pumpkin nuggets, honey, cardamom & fennel Raw paan will have beetle leaves, tobacco, beetle nut and few other unique ingredients in it which can make you dizzy, nauseated if you are not used to it. Sweet pan is meant to be swallowed but raw paan should not be swallowed as it has tobacco. Always ask for sweet pan or you can be specific - Gulkan paan/ Magaai Paan
I am in a way disappointed because that wasn't really a full traditional Maharashtrain meal, except for kurdai, shrikhand, chicken curry and aluvadi. I wish I get a chance to host any of these food vlogger. If I was given an opportunity following would be my menu 1. Masale bhat 2. Aloo vangyachi bhaji/ Patvadichi bhaji 3. Phodnicha Varn aani bhat 4. Purnachi Poli (as sweet) 5. Mungachya daliche wade/ bhaje 6. Shengdane aani mirchi cha thecha 7. Kurdai 8. chapati Or for Non Veg 1. Saoji/Kolhapuri Mutton 2. Sukka chicken 3. Lambya rottya/dopodya 4. Jeera rice Aunty did a great job as host. Thanks Ashutosh for welcoming them in your house.
@@FollowMeImaFoodieIndia it's not about the number of dishes but the authenticity of the dish. Chhole bhature is not Maharashtrian at all. If at all she could have made potato chutney with puri that is what we make at home and trust me it tastes way better than chhole bhature. Chicken dishes were more of experimental than authentic except for the curry. Anyways, it's good that you enjoyed the food. That's what matters. I really wish I had connected before so that I could invite you to my humble abode in Mumbai
I have heard of indrayani rice too but you cant get that here. I live on the west coast ie Vancouver BC. Thats not something any indian restaurant makes. Its almost like Bajra Roti I am yet to find a restaurant in BC or for that matter Canada that can make one. As a Canadian i loved it when i visited Jaipur. Unfortunately there are some things that you would need to be in India specifically to get it.

We Indians love...our guest. अतिथि देवो भवा. And thanks to U ..you love indian food..Its traveling world wide....
Thank you! We are so blessed to get to experience this!
That welcome with tilak on your forehead and aarti means worshipping like a God because in India there is an old saying, "Guest is God"
It was such a warm greeting!!
That first item was something new to me also, i have never tasted it. God bless the family for the wonderful gesture. 👍🏼❤️
My favourite home dish is the dal kichadi.
It's so good! A little strange at first, but incredible flavors!!
Homemade dishes have their own freshness of ingredients.
It was so fresh and tasty!!
7:57 " a Granola bar "
OMG 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You are right 👍
Never thought about a
Spicy Granola bar 😄😄
It would be awesome!!
Just 0.05 sec into the video but, can't stop myself from commenting how beautiful Joy's looking omg. I love her sm.🥺🤍
The traditional clothing definitely suits her 😍😍😍
Love u guys so very much.U really relish our indian food..😘😘😘
It was so good!! What a great experience!!
You guys absolutely right..
Wen you say..that home meals much simpler..
Where as at restaurant..n at commercial premises...they try really hard..to appear superior
Different arise there..
One may like restaurant food..
But after eating there one may feel heavy....
But after meal..you feel light..
Guys enjoy your stays in india
Lots of love n blessings from india
🙏🙏🌹🌹🇮🇳🇮🇳
This is so accurate!! Sometimes simple is better!!
Go to Nagpur it's the 3 famous city in Maharashtra after mumbai and pune. And try saoji food. Love your videos 😍😍
I’m not sure when we will be back in Maharashtra, but we will look into Nagpur!!
@@FollowMeImaFoodieIndia Nagpur is having best food in maharastra ....Nagpur is tiger capital and Orange city..having zero mile stone Geographical centre of India . ..but it's far from Mumbai and Pune so always neglected...Nov and Dec Best timing ...As it very hot in summer....famous food chain in India Haldiram is from Nagpur
I am puneri and recently got exposed to saoji masala and I LOVE it!!!!!! Have been adding it to all my non vegetarian dishes these days.
You are very good person..
Your eyes says everything

Hey guys..joy you have got the beautiful smile..like seriously..you look so precious when you smile .it suits you alot .keep smiling always..you both . 🙏❣️ Take care guys .n welcome to my great nation..
Thank you!! We had such a great time!!
Awesome explanation of each dish. Am glad you enjoyed the warm hospitality of Indian family. Take care and stay safe. Happy vlogging.
Thank you so much for watching!!
Chole Bhature tastes great at the restaurant but it just tastes better when it is homecooked.
PS: Goes to the most of food actually. :D
True!!
Great hospitality. I'm sure you enjoyed the food. I love the video..
It was an incredible experience!!
Homemade food is the best 😍
It was so good!!
Nothing Beats a home cooked Indian meal and the best part is that its not heavy like the restaurant food so u can have more of it :)
It was so delicious and they were so kind!!
You can take some shreekhand with you and enjoy later. it goes well with hot puri too. By the way I love your videos ❤️
Good to know!
Absolutely amazing! Delighted to see you both having a ball and enjoying the authentic Indian taste and the wonderful hospitality! Only nitpick, I really wish there was a shot of both of sharing a meal at the table with your hosts- meaning all of you eating together! There would have been much fun and laughter there as well I guess, even better than the vlog format! Just a brief shot for just a minute or two would have been nice.
We agree! We wish we incorporated them in the video more too. They are such amazing people!!!
They didn't gave you modak which is the most fav sweet thing you would have ever had Maharastian modak is so famous in India.
and puran poli
@@nileshgode are ho ree purana poli majha fav.
The sweets they gave us were incredible!! We had never tried Paan before & Joy is a SUCKER for anything mango! It was perfect for us!! We will be on the look out for modak. This video was more about the Home cooked meal than it being only authentic Maharastian recipes.
This video was more about the Home cooked meal than it being only Maharastian recipes. The sweets they gave us were incredible!! We will be on the look out for modak 😊
It was perfect for us, but we will be on the look out for modak 😊 This video was about the home cooked meal/what they eat in a regular basis, more than it being only authentic Maharastian recipes.
now thats what i wanted from u guys 🙏🏻🙏🏻 try in every part of country india💐🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻
We hope to someday!!
Maybe we will still get a chance to try them in another part of India!!
Totally agree! The food that was served was not Maharashtrian. Puran poli, Modaks, shrikhand should be there. And with traditional Alu bhaji, poli/poori shud have been there. Also, Rangoli around the dish would have made the meal much better.
Aishwarya I love you
Also, since when does chole bhature come under Maharashtrian cuisine??? They could have made jwari chi bhakri, pithla, vangyacha rassa, thecha. So many real Marathi food items and they served chole bhature..
@@dancerchick Yes. They could have asked someone to cook Maharashtrian food if they didn't knew anything about Marathi food.
Paan is not just a digestive, it is also a mouth fresher - sweet pan will have beetle leaves, Gulkan ( Rose paste meant for good digestion), beetle nuts ( not is Gulkan pan), camphor ( which gives the inscent smell, pumpkin nuggets, honey, cardamom & fennel
Raw paan will have beetle leaves, tobacco, beetle nut and few other unique ingredients in it which can make you dizzy, nauseated if you are not used to it.
Sweet pan is meant to be swallowed but raw paan should not be swallowed as it has tobacco.
Always ask for sweet pan or you can be specific - Gulkan paan/ Magaai Paan
So interesting! This pan did freshen our mouth, but it was sweet too (no dizziness or nausea).
I am surprised that you liked the PAAN.😂
I definitely like it more than Joy. She enjoyed it, but I had it at least 5 more times on the trip!!
India always treats Guests with unique gesture !
It was the most incredible experience!
I am in a way disappointed because that wasn't really a full traditional Maharashtrain meal, except for kurdai, shrikhand, chicken curry and aluvadi.
I wish I get a chance to host any of these food vlogger. If I was given an opportunity following would be my menu
1. Masale bhat
2. Aloo vangyachi bhaji/ Patvadichi bhaji
3. Phodnicha Varn aani bhat
4. Purnachi Poli (as sweet)
5. Mungachya daliche wade/ bhaje
6. Shengdane aani mirchi cha thecha
7. Kurdai
8. chapati
Or for Non Veg
1. Saoji/Kolhapuri Mutton
2. Sukka chicken
3. Lambya rottya/dopodya
4. Jeera rice
Aunty did a great job as host. Thanks Ashutosh for welcoming them in your house.
We asked them to keep it to 5 or 6 dishes. We shot a street food video 4 hours later
Underrated food vlogger, but "fortunate fever the brave"..doing great ...lol ❤️❤️👍🙏💥
Thanks for watching!!
We haven’t found it in the U.S. either. Maybe it’s sold online?
You guys are cool! Really genuine. Love your videos
Thank you so much for watching!!
You guys are amazing when you explain the taste of food and the method of speaking to explain the food taste I like it.......😍🤗
Actually I am Bengali I am currently I am live in Gujarat so I love to eat different foods dishes you have to call me a foodie person because I am little chubby that's why I like to see a tasty words in your blog
I’m so glad you enjoy great food too ❤️ Do you post good pictures anywhere?
An Indian friend made us lady fingers and ground nuts . Thin fried okra with peanuts. So good. And fresh cut potato chips with garam masala. I now eat my potato chips that way. I miss India and my Indian friends. I hope to return when I can.
I love your reaction you guys are awesome 👍🏼❤️
Absolutely wonderful ♥️♥️
Thank you so much!
The ease with which Joy pronounced 'maharashtrian' at 3.29 min is next level!!
She did really well!!
True. It was smooth
Welcome do enjjoy your holidays with all the yummy food.stay safe.
We had such a great trip!! So amazing!!

You are getting the authentic taste of india by tasting home made food from mom as it is mixed with years of experience and spices of love.
We had such a wonderful time with them!!
This is what takes you to another level. You guys have levelled up on David, Volpe and Mark
