If this audience is behaving as if they aren’t familiar with the song “You Got That Right” then the bulk of them in attendance are NOT REAL Skynyrd fans. It’s a classic Steve Gaines song that the rest of the guys put there touches on it, “Skynyrized” it, then Ronnie joined Steve on vocals and they’d trade lines back and forth throughout the whole song. Excellent song off of their final album. “I Know a Little” and “Ain’t No Good Life” were/are 2 other Steve Gaines additions on the Street Survivors album. These “Skynyrd fans” that only know “Freebird” “Alabama”, “3 Steps” and “Simple Man” need to buy all 5 original Skynyrd albums and dig a little deeper. Get off of the beaten path some. For me this is where the true backbone of the 1970s Skynyrd members. Many Skynyrd originals that are outstanding songs and rarely ever receive a bit of radio play over the past 47-54 years. Yet these relatively obscure Skynyrd originals are not only timeless and still sound great... they’re 100 times better than anything going today or the previous 30-40 years. I also met Johnny Van Zandt that night. I called him Ronnie, like an idiot. Which is ridiculous because the first album i ever bought when I was 8 was "Pronounced "I went back to him and said, "I'm sorry for calling you Ronnie " He let me off the hook by saying, "my parents did it all the time "

I don't think you can name just one the "best". Different sounds, different time periods etc... Stones are in top 10 no doubt. Others in my opinion: WHO, Zeppelin, Allmans, Skynyrd, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Rush and the list goes on.. Skynyrd was just hitting their stride with Street Survivors, their best record. Who knows what would have been if no crash. Stones best music was late 60's to early 70's. I lived that.
