One of the simplest ways to get more distance off the tee is to learn how to hit up on the golf ball, and having that proper angle of attack requires the proper golf ball position in stance. But it is more than just what the proper ball position is in relation to your feet. In this video, we discuss how your body should line up to the ball as well as your feet to maximize your driver distance!

Hi Todd, great video and helped me tremendously after one round. I was dipping my whole front shoulder and body backwards and slicing like crazy. Followed the whole routine and just tilted my neck. Immediate improvement.
Awesome! Sometimes the slightest adjustment can make all the difference....👊
evening Todd great video will be taking that to the course when i eventually get out again ( in lockdown ere in England ) so having to stay home and practice 😠 ...#staysafe
Awesome! We can improve the game via UA-cam and lock down. 👊 😎
Awesome video. Great instruction.👍🏌⛳🇺🇸😀
Thank you....which part did you find the most helpful?
I found that the reference to your body was a big help.
Great instruction.Very helpful.

Thanks Michael, which part did you find the most helpful?
@@USGOLFTVshow liked the alignment of the club face and the hovering parts. The reinforcement of each part adds to the instruction reinforcement overall.
@@michaelfenton4702 awesome!
Great video as always Todd! Do you have a video on wrists, forearms, hands in the downswing for irons and driver?
Good question, at this time no, however we will add it to the content list...thanks for the idea 👊
@@USGOLFTVshow wonderful
You talk about bumping your lead hip forward along with a weight shift. (In another video) So that will change all the positions you talked about. Do you then have to readjust the ball position to accommodate the bump forward?
Good question, the hip bump moves your pressure forward and tilts the upper body away from the target, two keys to great driving. You still keep the ball just off the inside of the lead heal. Hope that helps...
Ok great advice, but now how do you suggest weight distribution? 50/50? More on the right leg at address or??? Thanks. Great job.
We suggest starting with 60 percent on the lead foot and moving quickly to 70-80 percent on the trail foot early in the backswing. This movement of weight/pressure promotes good tempo and increased distance. Hope that helps. 👊
You mentioned placing the ball even with my left front foot (toes). I hit down on the ball and place it along my left heel line. Would it help to move it up to my. left front foot? (I'm 68yo and have typical age flexibility issues). Which videos do you recommend I watch to add more distance while keeping it in play. My common miss is push/slice. Thanks.
Great to hear from you. We have some great videos on how to fix the slice, also check out our Power Clinic series...this is good for the senior golfer. 👊
Great video! Do you have something similar for distance to ball, which is also part of ball position?
This is a great question, we need to do a video on this. 👊 Basically position your body so your hands fall below your shoulders, from there grip the club. The ball should be positioned where the clubhead is located. Make sense?
@@USGOLFTVshow Please do a video on this! I hit one off the toe then the next might be in the middle then the third might be heel or toe again. I understand the "hang your arms" thing but I still can't get the consistency on the setup and maybe seeing it would help. THANKS!
@@USGOLFTVshow Makes sense! Thanks.
Here is a ball position video that touches on this subject for the different clubs in your bag, definitely worth a watch!

Let us know if it helps, maybe we can do one specifically on distance from the ball in more detail in the future. Thanks for the suggestion!
nice brother
Todd 2Q's: 1) max forward position of ball with driver should probably be big toe you think? 2) do you have a video on staying behind the ball with driver?
Good questions, all things being equal having the ball too far forward could promote more toe strike along with a fade ball flight. We have not done a specific video on staying behind the ball with the driver, however will pass it along to our content team. 👊
Tee height? Top of tee about 1 ball above the ground? Thanks.
Great question, tee it up so 1/2 of the ball is above the top of the clubhead...👍
So, what about the position of the grip? Is it forward of the ball slightly? Even with the ball?
Good question...with the driver the hands/grip should be equal to ever so slightly behind the ball...this will promote a more upward strike which is key to good driving...hope that helps.
@@USGOLFTVshow that will help tremendously, thanks! It will allow me to have the ball not quite so much forward as before......always felt like I was reaching for it.
What's your opinion on Draw drivers?
James, can you expand on draw drivers? What is that? Thanks!
@@USGOLFTVshow
I think the Cub face is turned a little to help a slice
The Taylor made Burner draw driver. My slice is terrible. Thinking of buying one. I have watched many of your videos but the monster slice still shows up at times.
@@jamescarter8421 trust me, doesn’t fix the problem. I found keeping my trailing elbow tucked in helped straighten out my terrible slice. It will naturally pull away from side in backswing, but when I drop it back down it helps keep the arch closer to where it should be. Had a shoulder injury and it actually made me do this...that’s how I figured it out. Go figure.

Thanks. Didn't buy one. Was looking for as easy fix. Hitting the ball better now. Will take your advice.✌️⛳🏌️
where is the ball to your club?
Can you expand on the question?
