An astonishing error! 10:50mins Either shoddy scholarship? which i have to say does seem unlikely - a Reader & Associate Dean - and I could cynically blame the U.H.; or an addition to the confusion and muddle of City terminology and insider knowledge; or perhaps there is an error historiographically that has been convention? At the end of the day, as a matter of fact, the provision of currency is NOT remotely anything to do with the creation of credit, not in England. You have my word.

Any suggestions Richard of how I can find information regarding your point please.
I am not an academic but I have a keen interest in educating myself in the history of banking and 16th century trade in London
      Regards Gerard

Banking , the business of creating wealth from pulling funds from fresh air and then charging interest on it. Basically legalized swindles.

The Bank of England, should change their nbame to the Bank of the United Kingdom. Surely as the central bank of the United Kingdom, it should not be just named after one of the five countries of the UK. Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Cornwall should also be represented by the Bank of England, in the name. Also the Bank of the United Kingdom should have members made by the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish elected governments? How would the English like it is the Bank of England was named after Scotland or Wales or Cornwall, or Northern Ireland? It is offensive to the Celtic nations that the Celtic nations are not represented in the label, the Bank of England. CHANGE THE NAME OF THE BANK OF ENGLAND, TO REPRESENT THE ENTIRE UK.

The bank of England should change its name to 'the scamers of England', it represents no one but a few very corrupted people creating booms and busts in the economy, hurting everyone in the process whiles they become richer and richer.
