This might be the most valuable video you guys put out so far this season. The suggested rounds to draft these guys obviously varies based on league settings, but it's still incredibly helpful to know who's stock went up/down compared to what we knew a couple weeks ago when most of the projections were made. Good shit Mike
Couldn't agree more. Long time fantasy player & this video just got my subscription -- love the in-depth commentary and projections evolving along with the league
@@BlakeFearn To answer your question, yes a bit 😅 We are all second year fantasy hockey players and I'd say I'm the only one that actually keeps up with hockey (still fairly casual by my obsessive standards other than for my favorite team). Also, it is only an 8 man league currently. I'm hoping to get to 12 next year so that way the draft will be deeper and this won't be a brag. I was absolutely shocked when I was scrolling through my watch list and saw Boldy was available. Like holy shit I gotta grab him. I think Yahoo buried him because of his "out" status during the draft. The other folks I think were mainly just going based off of their experience last year with name recognition and whatever Yahoo had suggested for their predicted ranks. That said we all ended up with fairly good teams that managed to be evenly balanced from my POV.
Love the channel fellas ! Great insight. I’m currently in enough fantasy leagues, but I will be joining your patreon league next year without a doubt. Best of luck 👊🏼
The info is valuable, but I think some are putting too much stock in who’s currently playing pp1 or pp2.. like for example Quinn over Cousins. Guys are gona move around all year unless they’re rock solid top players, obviously. You draft the best player if it’s between a few guys, not giving a guy a big boost cuz he’s found himself on pp1 in preseason.
Definitely in a keeper I'd say. I grabbed him as a free agent after the draft and the more I see the more I can't believe no one else did. Most of the research I've done suggests a 40-60 point season but next year he should step up towards elite.
I watch all your videos, but the tips seem to always focus on complex drafts including stats like hits, PIM, minutes spent with other players wife etc. But I have a very simple draft: 12 members, points only (no goalie). Would most of your general tips, like drafting 2 D in the first 5 rounds apply to a very simple draft like that?
@@Sabaton1994 I think it would more - in leagues like yours PP1 defenseman are gold. Hughes would be ranked higher than josi + Makar. The difference in the strategy is less emphasis on peripheral dman (weegar, seider) and more on point getters (Quinn, werenski, fox, Faber etc..)
Gus has been hit or miss. Streaky and can be lazy. Depends on your scoring system, but if he is getting PP1 unit looks, easy points. There is a lot of talent in the first unit.
Norris has had chronic shoulder issues, that’s what knocked him out for the majority of last season. They’re taking it slow with him which is why he hasn’t played in a preseason game yet.
Scheifele, Jenner, or Guenther? Who is the better waiver claim? (I have Vilardi and Connor, so Scheifele feels redundant). It would be replacing Byfield or Laine
You get picks 12 and 13, then 36 and 37 at the turn, by then all the elite D are probably gone, maybe 1 or 2 left. So if you want one, you have to make the pick at 13 and sacrifice some F value. It’s tough, it’s a question all fantasy hockey managers struggle with!
I dropped Stephanson for Boquist. Looks like the 6M dollar man isn't even on power play 2. How about Brad Lambert. Could he be the new number 2 center on the Jets. I have been thinking of dumping Oloffsson for him. It's a 29 round 14 team monster league.
@@fantasypuck my thought exactly, so I have been watching Oloffson. He was my 28th round pick because I saw his current position. I thought he was a great sleeper. The only other moves I made were dumping Tanev[blocks] for Hutson, and Olivier{PM,Hits] for Lankanin.
Depends on if you need a scoring defenseman. Roy was really solid in LA with blocks and hits. Larsson is a similar profile to Roy with a little more scoring potential. I wouldnt be dropping anyone until the season starts and boqvist is for sure on PP1.
I just did my deaft in a 12 team points league with shots hits and blocks. I would like opinions on how I did. I got Matt Boldy in the 12th round in my 8 man league. I think that was a steal
First thought is this is a league with people who don't understand fantasy hockey. ADP is 74. That's 7th rd. An absolute steal for sure! Best of luck!

Great video.
So glad I’m not having my draft until Oct 4th
I traded Jeff Skinner for Ehlers today. Roopi Hintz for Kevin Fiala.
I got offered Morrissey and Larkin for q.hughes and Thomas, thoughts?
Given the injury to Doughty does this hurt Kuemper enough to make him a drop and replace with Silvos?
I wouldn't drop a goalie because 1 D got hurt. You'd be doing that all year
good stuff!
Would you drop Gustav Forsling, Gostisbehere, or Gustafsson to pick up Boqvist?
Which 3 to keep from these guys, points league: Caufield, Slaf, Faber, W Johnston, Marchessault
@@kyleenright3757 Caufield, slaf, Wyatt
Erik Gustafsson could be PP1 for Detroit, any thoughts on him?
We haven't seem him skate with Seider yet in practice - looks like Seider is PP1 w/o Gustafsson and vice versa. I like as a late round lottery ticket.
