Great job Kyle !
Really great idea for a repair and it turned out great as well. Two tone or otherwise it will be nice. Good job.
I have the exact same situation with a 22 Webley Stingray Deluxe I was gifted! Gonna follow your advice 👊
Thank you Jebus🙏
Yep, you are an artist. Love it, Kyle. Thanks.
Thanks you Thomas!
Awesome work!!!!
You have some serious skill my friend. I bet there are lots of old guns that could use a face-lift (at least here in the Cape lots of old heirloom guns)
Send em' on down! ;-)
Great idea. I love the contrast on color. As someone else said in the comments below, 2 birch dowels through the pistol grip would have looked beautiful. As always a great job. And tho you were told it was cut off to look like a pirate gun, I'd say it was more likely cut off to look like a gangster gun..lol
Cheers till the next one bud.
I thought about doing dowels, but then I figured I just didn't want to 'fool with it' any longer. Currently 2 coats in on the clear coat, and it looks lovely.
Its a pity that you didn't make a youtube video of the work you did as i would like to have watch it but anyway it looks good
Keep up the good work bud
Sorry Dean! Maybe next time :-)
Great job
Good stuff!
Nicely Done!
Good job.
Sweet.. That’s awesome bro.
Thanks Stephen!
How do you blend the colors together
Do oil instead of varathane. BLO, tung oil, or tru-oil make it really pop
No.
I have done stocks both ways. I usually like oil on all my wood projects, but with guns I prefer a thick heavy glass coating
I like it.
thanks Chad!
Looks great,...really nice! I would have liked to see it done in Tung Oil,....then maybe, coats of varathane. Of course I'd like to do this IF this were my rifle,....but it's not, it's your's, so whatever you decided has to please YOU first.
I'm sure it will looks beautiful when it's all done.
Everyone has there preferences, don't they? :-) I have no experience with Tung oil. How does it compare to BLO?
Yes of course,...but then you are the one who must be pleased with your finished item,...so in the end, YOU are the one to make the choice.
Boiled Linseed Oil is something that I have not used either. But Tung Oil, put's a darker stain into and onto the surface and is generally must preferred for gun stock finisher's.
Pirate gun...lol
I've found awesome plans on woodprix website. just check them out.
