Life is Tom Waits' straight man.
Nucleus Medical Medi
In 1988 Tom Waits was 39. He just turned 70, in 2019. Sill kickin' it. He's "the man",....one groovy cat!
Catch his movie performances from over the years! m.ua-cam.com/video/wflJVB4cM_c/v-deo.html
Just watched him in Ballad of Buster Scruggs on Netflix. Awesome short story role.
Look at those curls too what a beauty. I wish him a long life if he wants it.
Oh jeez I was watching this with my earbuds and didn’t know how loud I was laughing til My wife yelled at me for waking her up ... . Classic Tom
Tom, his talent knows no bounds. Singer, songwriter, actor, comedian and SUCCESSFUL suer of Frito-Lay. Stay frosty, Tom.
I love Tom's appearances on Letterman. He's got a sharp sense of humor.
Tom Waits...truly a great man. No telling what he is thinking or what he is going to say next. Seriously talented also .........
Tom Waits is actually so hilarious. He is probably one of the most intelligent people I have the scene on interviews since 1983
I still love that comment,"I love you individually and as a group.". hehe
Like David Bowie, Waits has portrayed many characters along the way
Yes he's like a lounge lizard blonde California boy in 88 I guess.
I thought he was great because of the recorded music, now I know he did a lot of changes and different versions live and I have to say he's out of this world.
Nighthawks at the Diner.....Best live album by this great guy.check it out! First heard this album late '70s.
Not actually live. He's a trickster. But yes, it's great!
@@duve727 What do you mean? It's live in that it was recorded in front of a studio audience, but it was still a live show
@@zowohodoho, okay. I get you, but it was not what it seems. It wasn't a club. And it was recorded over a couple of days. It's a masterful studio recording.
great album indeed , but too hard to pick a best album by Tom.
Actually, there were multiple shows, but it was live, just not in a club. It was in the studio which was set up to look like a club.
"This is a torch song for piano and fire extinguisher...."
I never realized a blazer pocket could hold so much goddamned confetti.
That s coriandoli my good friend
seems like what that pocket should be for!
much better than Tony Clifton
Didn't know who Larry Bud Melman was, looked it up; it's a character someone used to play on Letterman. Love that kind of joke. Tom in character doing a sly and demented Sinatra parody, then sitting on the couch bullshitting, and throws out a reference to a fake character.
Mr. Larry's Toast on a Stick. I remember it well, and fondly.
Tom was such a great song writer. People don’t really know how many songs he wrote that were played and made famous by other great bands the first time I heard him was on the Dinah Shaw show way back when
Same here, he did Step Right Up and Tt's Blues!
One giant smile from the beginning to the end. To the top, and probably over the top for some unexpecting victims of this muscular charade and dedication to a time long past. Deadly in it's accuracy, and fevered in delivery, this bus only comes through town once. Then it's just a rumor, a glitch, a paranoid reflection, a drop of fear and blue ruin into your Sunday state of time.
+sclogse1 that was good
I can't tell you how many times I listened to Frank's Wild Years in college.
Me too. And all the brown liquor to go with it.
Oh go on. Tell me.
amusement420 i stopped counting after third month in a row of listening to it almost daily
That album is pure gold. That trio of albums are some of my favorites by him. Swordfishtrombones, Rain Dogs, Frank's Wild Years... God so good.
that album certainly has an interesting and cool vibe.
"I'm surprised they caught it." lol
He looks like Will Ferrell here, and it's messing with my mind.
He's too damn sly sometimes for me to know if he's yanking my chain or not.
yes. he is. always.
They're all lies but most of them are true.
He is always yanking the chain
Ki
Just assume he is. He likes his privacy. Can't say I blame him.
RALPH CARNEY
He could be a member of the rat pack here. I love it.
Hell of performance, he sung well at that time. Real cat.
I was two days old at the time... Thanks Tom
Me too! Hello birthday twin :)
I was 9 wish I knew about him then did not hear him till my 20s.
@@astridcoxon9431 Whoa, awesome 👋

Yeah, no kidding.
So true, I was young as well, damn it.
*When I began my College Nursing career. It was an extremely challenging and difficult path to undertake. While working 32 hours per week and going to classes/clinicals. Easily requiring some 110 hours of focus each week for 3 years. It almost broke me. Until Tom Waits inspirational music motivated me. Now, "I am at the top. Where the air is fresh and clean".*
Going to Singapour and charging NBC !!! LOL
If you know me, you know what I mean.....

top notch
The story about the cop was a lie. The story about the secret service men was a lie. Tom knows he looks awful with the hair ("this is my ticket").
nomen nescio his hair is gorgeous regardless of the story. Look how thick and lustrous it is. I bet he has bedded many women just because they wanted to run their hands through it.
Oh ..God ..we would never of known... bet you watch all the crappy soaps on TV...cos ..thats the length and B...of your personality...
Ps and Tom knows to...
People watched this and they still voted for ****ing Bush: 0:01
Fuck off, you can only start with the future if your leaving the past
I love this. Thank you for sharing, What's for afters.
You're very welcome! Glad to know that you enjoyed it so much, and took the time to say so!!
@@whatsforafters7843 Cool, man.
